Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus Vs Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone, the Samsung Galaxy s21 plus, has just come out, and we want to go ahead and compare it to none other than last year's Samsung Galaxy s flagship of flagships, which was the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra. Now this was a pretty expensive device, but luckily it has gone down in value a little, and it actually is cheaper than a galaxy s21 plus in some places, not everywhere, I'm sure, so I'll go ahead and find the cheapest Samsung Galaxy s, 21, plus and s20. Ultra that I can find links will be down in the description you can get that from there and help support the channel. At the same time now side by side. You can definitely see that the s20 ultra is always going to be the bigger device it has an overall bigger panel, and just because the s21 plus is you know, smaller doesn't mean it's a worse or anything like that. I feel like there's.

A lot of you know pros for the s21 plus now the s20 ultra had that 6.9 inch, dynamic, AMOLED display it's a 1440p panel, it's curved on the sides and 120 hertz. I mean I can tell you like this. This was one of the best panels of last year. I think this one, maybe the note 20 ultra. I also think the OnePlus 8 pro had a pretty good panel.

Furthermore, I don't know why what it was with that phone. Furthermore, I just thought it looked so good, but the s20 ultra, in my opinion, probably had the top panel of last year, and even now, it's still so good. It's probably better than a lot of other phones that are out in the market still, and I don't see how you know a lot of manufacturers can go above and beyond this display. For example, I looked at phones that Samsung made even in 2017 with the Samsung Galaxy s8. That panel was still extremely, extremely good.

Even the Samsung Galaxy s8, plus very beautiful panels that a lot of manufacturers still haven't topped and was something like the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra. This is definitely going to stand the test of time. This is for sure, going to be one of the best advantages for the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra now the Samsung Galaxy s, 21 plus, has a little of a smaller 6.7 inch, dynamic, AMOLED display. Now it does have a lower resolution panel. So 1080p, I don't think it's really a crazy big deal.

There isn't really a curve to the size of the panel, so that is something that kind of bothers me a little more. I like having that curved edge. I don't know why a lot of people complain about it, but I actually do like it. It gives it a little more of a flagship feel you do have that hole. Punch, display, fingerprint sensor in both displays 120 hertz on the s21 plus as well.

I would definitely say the front panel 100 goes for the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra, but there's still some pros for the s21 plus as well. Both have USB type-c ports on the bottom. Another humongous disadvantage for the s21 plus is that it doesn't have a micro SD card slot again. This is just one of those things that I don't know what Samsung is thinking. They were known for having those type of things, and now they took it away.

I guess the main appeal for the s21 plus is the panel. Is the 120 yards and there's still a lot of features for it, but the s20 ultra for having that micro SD card slot is seriously one of my favorite things for sure. So, at the end of the day, the s20 ultra having that capability is amazing. Now, on the back, this is kind of where they start flipping, so the s20 ultra. I think I don't know it didn't, have the best.

Looking back, you know to say it lightly. I think it looked good. It was very top-heavy, but I just didn't really like the appeal I didn't like any of the s20 pluses or s20s. I didn't like the back of them. The s21 plus actually fixes that main concern.

Now it's a frosted glass bag and that actually does look a lot better. Now you have the quadruple kind of camera set up on the s20 ultra, where you have the s21 plus having that triple camera setup. I'll, definitely tell you when it comes to the back of these phones and the way they look. The s20 ultra looks better on the front. The s21 plus looks better on the back features wise.

The s20 ultra also wins. That's another pretty big thing to keep in mind. So in terms of the outside. That pretty much covers it. Up now hitting on the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra, like I said, before kind of, had like a quadruple camera setup and had that 108 megapixel, wide nickel lens 48 megapixels, periscope, telephoto, lens 12, megapixel, ultra head sensor and a 0.3 megapixel depth sensor with the Samsung Galaxy s, 21 plus again has that triple camera setup, 12 megapixels, wide 64, megapixel telephoto, then a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor. Now the s20 ultra I mean this is seriously still an amazing camera.

It hasn't degraded one bit. The features of it are a little. You know I don't know if anybody's going to use that you know periscope telephoto like completely how they were justifying it, but I think it's an insanely cool thing that they did when you have a phone like this, I mean, what's more, to give you know you can't really expect much more. The quality is great. You have 8k capability on the back camera and that front camera.

Having a 40 megapixel camera, you can still do 4k 60 on that front camera as well. This is seriously one of the best camera modules ever made, and I'm sure the s21 ultra is better. I still haven't gotten shipped to me yet, which is very annoying, but the s20 ultra for sure at the end of the day, has a beautiful camera both front and back the s21 plus, on the other hand, camera wise. It's still beautiful, like this is pretty much the same quality. Now I think, in terms of the know, amount you can zoom in it's, probably not as much as the s20 ultra, but otherwise the s21 plus has a very, very good camera set up.

You still have 8k capability. You have a 10 megapixel front facing camera that you can do 4k at 60 on, and I don't even think that's that big of a deal, because that camera is still perfect, even though it's a downgrade a little from the s20 ultra in terms of the front camera, it's not really a downgrade, because most people won't even notice that big of a difference both the front camera and the back camera of the s21 plus, are very, very good. I would say competing wise. I don't really think one is necessarily miles ahead of the other one. Furthermore, I think the s20 ultra still maintains more features at the end of the day, but the s21 plus for having that newer camera module.

It has to be better in some ways. I don't think most people are going to realize it. I definitely don't realize it, but I'm sure at the end of the day, it's a really, really good camera setup for sure. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up now. Moving on to the software.

In my opinion, this is probably going to be one of the bigger differences between these two devices, because, even though the s20 ultra has all of these features and is a crazy device and all this stuff, the s21 plus, is still going to be. You know maintaining a much better just overall software lifecycle, because it's a year newer, it's going to be lasting that much longer. So it's not really going to be like miles ahead, but it is going to be noticeably. You know more ahead, so when the s20 ultra actually ends at like one UI, five or one ui6, the Samsung Galaxy s21 plus is going to add out when UI 6 or 1 ui7 or whatever the case is, so it's not really a crazy big deal. Both of them are rocking one UI, which I really am not a humongous fan of, but again there's nothing.

We can do about it. We cannot be custom ROM it. The best we can do is you know, install a custom launcher on it, which is so much better than the stock one UI launcher. But I'll say that's probably the biggest difference between these two devices would be the software lifecycle for sure, but also the battery sizes are so similar to one another that you're really not going to notice that big of a difference, a 5, 000 my battery on the s20 ultra, but the s21 plus has a 4 800 million bar battery, and what makes me really happy about this is that because they're so similar to one another and the s21 plus being the mid-tier model this year, I'm actually excited to see what the next you know, version of phones are going to have. Hopefully we keep going in that upward trajectory of battery sizes, so battery life-wise, you're, probably gonna, be even maybe even getting a better battery life from the s21 plus than on the s20 ultra.

So definitely keep that in mind, but in terms of that those are probably the bigger differences, the battery life not so much, but the software- that's probably the biggest difference, in my opinion, between these two phones. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up now, ending it off with the performance, the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra and that Qualcomm snapdragon 865 chipsets, with 12 gigabytes of ram, there's only one model of that device where the Samsung Galaxy s 21 plus, has that Qualcomm snapdragon 888 chipsets inside it with eight gigabytes of ram now- and this is another case in points where really you're not going to notice that big of a difference like the performance wise between these two phones. There is absolutely no difference that I could tell. I think the main advantage the s20 ultra has is that additional ram, so ram management is going to be better on the s20 ultra, but for really everything else. The speed, wise and everything the s21 plus is going to be the faster phone.

I would definitely say day-to-day tasks and even some like mid-tier tasks, if you're like trying to like do excel work on your phone, if you're trying to like to send papers and write documents and stuff like that and multitask between a bunch of stuff, both these phones are going to be perfectly fine for the most part. Again, multitasking will probably go for the s20 ultra, but you're really not going to notice that big of a difference, even in extreme gaming, like if you're playing like a bunch of heavy games, you're, also not really going to notice that big of a difference like both these phones are going to be doing a perfect job when it comes down to the performance segment. Now, maybe, if you like, trying to multitask between super heavy games, you're going from one game to the other into the other, maybe you're going to notice a little of a difference, but I would probably say the least amount of difference. You're going to see between these phones is the performance. These phones are so close to one another that you're really not going to notice it I mean: do you really notice a big difference between like the galaxy s3 and galaxy s4 in this day and age, not really even like the Galaxy S8 and s8 plus or s8, plus and s9, plus they're, almost kind of like the same thing? You know they have the same type of performance and that's kind of how I'm seeing it with these two phones.

Maybe the s21 plus is a little faster, but the s20 ultra is going to be giving you much better array management when it comes down to it. So, in terms of performance, that's pretty much. How I see it now to kind of sum up the video and answer the question: should you go and buy a Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra, or should you go and buy a Samsung Galaxy s, 21 plus? In my opinion, I would definitely tell you, there's a lot of pros for still picking up a Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra if they were the same exact price, the s20 ultra is still giving you a super long. You know software life cycle, it's not ending anytime soon. The panel is arguably better than what you're getting on the s21 plus you're.

Still getting. You know the glass back. You know you still have the frosted glass back on the s21 plus, which still feels better. In my opinion, you're getting. I think, a better camera setup on the s20 ultra you're, probably getting better ram management on the s20 ultra as well a bigger phone.

Some people may prefer that a bigger battery which may not equal better battery life, but it's still a bigger battery and pretty much the same performance. And you know it's really almost the same: exact phone, and you're still maintaining that micro SD card slot as well, which is another humongous advantage for this phone. But the s21 plus still has a lot of advantages too. It has a perfect camera setup. It should be a faster phone overall you're, getting a frosted glass back, which is something I really do like, maybe better battery life from what I've seen, but it's still kind of like about the same, the newer camera setup.

If that means anything to you and those are really the main things that I can think of other than that, I think I would rather pick up a s20 ultra for the time being and then maybe once this thing is like another like year or two old, I would then go switch over to something like a galaxy, s21 plus or Samsung Galaxy s, 22, plus or something. But I would not. I would rather probably pick up a Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra than the Samsung Galaxy 21 plus in my opinion, so that really pretty much covers it up.
