Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G Unboxing & Hands On!

Hey guys, so we have an unboxing here of the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 ultra 5g. Now the Galaxy Note 10 plus, is my favorite Samsung from last year, even more so than the galaxy fold. So do a brief, hands-on verse said all right so right on top, we have the note- and we actually have this pamphlet right here- uh this always gets stuck in the case, so this pamphlet is going to be our sim card ejector and also some manuals all right. So we'll take a look at the um note in a few all right, so we also got a quick charge. Unlike some future phones, yeah Samsung always packs a ton of stuff. So this is okay, there's nothing in here.

This might just be for um like for packing it, but yeah nothing in here, and we also have an USB cable all right. So this is actually um pretty bare bones by Samsung standards. Usually they also give you an um free pair of headphones, some additional earbuds, some extra converters and yeah none of that this year. So the trend for Samsung and Apple is pretty clear all right guys. So now for the phone, so yeah so first thoughts.

This is really beautiful, um it is pretty hefty and that camera bump is ridiculous. But in terms of looks it's really nice honestly, the video does not even fully capture it but yeah. It just looks really, really nice all right. So, let's power it on now we'll go over to specs in a second, but this phone starts at 1300. There's also the regular Galaxy Note 20, but um you know what guys I mean that is, like a plastic, build um, a lot of things going against it for a thousand dollars still so yeah.

If you're going to buy a note, then I'd say either buy this one or last year's note 10 plus um, but I would definitely steer clear of the note 20. All right guys, so I'm going to put in my info, and I'll be back in a few all right guys. So I'm using the phone for the past day now as you'd expect it's a very good phone. But the question is whether it's 1300 is good and honestly guys. I'm not convinced about that.

So I do have a few issues with it, but we'll go over to specs. First now the phone is an in-display fingerprint which works decently, but not a hundred percent. The biggest selling point is the s pen, so I'm going to try to write this down, but uh. My handwriting is not gonna. Be that good, so hope you all can read it now.

The phone is a 6.9 inch, nice display it is quite HD and up to 120 hertz refresh rate, but that's only for 1080p mode. Now, on the front we have a 10fp camera and on the back we have a triple camera setup, with a massive 108 mp as the main and two at 12. , so the additional lenses are telephoto and wide. Now the camera bump guys again, it's really massive. The s20 ultra also had a massive lens and that had issues with close-up photography and video.

So we'll do a test for that. In a few also, it does shake when you're a sound when you shake it, alright, so for the rest of the specs. Now this is one of only a few phones with the weighted snapdragon, the 865 plus version. The phone has 12 gigabytes of ram and either 128 256 or half a terabyte of storage. The phone does a micro SD card support and a 4500 battery, so it's pretty small compared to uh the rock bone 3, which we discovered that's 6000, but yeah we're doing testing for it.

It does have wireless charging, though, unlike the ROG and unfortunately, no headphone jack, but you do have USB type c and also 5g. The phone also has dual speakers: limo, recording studios golden empire, yeah, so pretty good quality, but not the best I'd say about average for a flagship all right. So let's discuss what I don't like about it now. First, there's no headphone jack. I know a lot of people, don't care about the headphone jack um and this actually ships with free wireless headphones.

If you pre-order it, but that said, I actually still prefer using wired headphones um. I have some very good ones. I bought a while back, and also I just don't like charging them so yeah I mean Sony brought back the jack with the one two, so I'm gonna just keep matching in it. Hopefully, Samsung will eventually bring it back now number two, and I think this applies to more people. This camera bump on the back, causes a few problems so number one.

I really like having din cases and with this it just sticks out so much that I can't really get a very thin case and also the phone itself is already kind of thick. So adding on a thicker case is definitely not ideal for me, and you know if you put it down like this, it's just not really going to work. Well also, that said guys, I was not a fan of the s20 ultra's camera. Now, I'm not saying it's a bad camera, but you know if you're going to make this massive camera bump it better, at least be a big upgrade. I discussed this more in a video in the top right corner, but the problem with this phone or problem with this camera rather, is that it's awful for close-up stuff and, let's see, looks like let me just try making this a bit easier to see.

I mean I usually take close-up yeah, so I mean with looks like it's. You see that guys I mean look at that focus. I know it's not really meant for close up, but the thing is that I usually take uh close-up photos not happy about this yeah. I don't know I'm really not that close to it at least a few inches but um yeah. So that's a concern for me now.

Let's compare it to last year's note, 10 plus 5g, the best note of 2019. So one thing guys is you see the cameras on it for the note 10 it's basically flat, and I prefer using the note 10 to the s20 ultra's camera just because it uh does not have the focus issues and besides that guys, I mean like the 100 times zoom for the know the big selling point 100 times zoom. I've done a lot of videos on it, but that was pretty bad all right, but in terms of other stuff, this is pretty much a standard upgrade. I will do a full comparison for them uh in a future video, but your pretty much getting again guys your standard upgrade. You have the way to snapdragon.

You got the way to snapdragon. Furthermore, you got a slightly larger battery, so every larger screen, um, updated cameras, but uh big difference is the price points, so yeah the pen's a bit thicker, so tiny upgrades everywhere, but no huge upgrades, the 10 is only a year old, and you can find it for 650 versus 1300. So again guys really no contest. This is two times the price. Okay.

So I was thinking about opening up these BMW headphones, but honestly guys I don't like the book of them. You know I mean they do look like pinto beans. I, like the color, a lot. It's really nice looking but um not for the headphones. Now these are a pre-order bonus um.

I already have a lot of other wireless earbuds. So if you guys want to see these, then let me know in the comments below, but otherwise I'm probably just going to sell them all right, guys filming this last part with the Galaxy Note, 20 ultras camera in 4k mode. Now watching the video back. I know it seems pretty negative, but honestly guys it's a 1300 phone. It obviously has a lot of excellent things, but I would rather focus on the negatives just so you guys are aware of them um, but you know guys take it for what it's worth.

Maybe you don't care about the headphone jack stuff like that, but I will say: I've had awful work with Samsung's during the past year, so I've had both the galaxy, s10 plus and the Galaxy Z foot break on me. Um, but aside from that, I have not had any other phones break during the past five years. So I don't know it could just be unlucky, but you know guys just going to be honest, getting my honest thoughts on it and so far my honest thought is that the note 10 plus, is a much better deal so without question guys at this point. I'd recommend this phone over note 20 ultra. But that said, of course, no 20 ultra has a lot of good features, so we'll be doing a ton of testing for it all right guys, so I'll be back more soon.
