Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus - Unboxing, Setup and First Look

Hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech- and this is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 from Samsung and comes in a couple different variants under the plus size. Now we're going to talk about price, the different specs, the set-up, take a look at the hardware and also some software. But if you want to see any one of those parts of the video and just jump around to them, I've left the time codes in the description below. So you can take a look at it now. This particular variant comes in two different types or two different sizes: 256 gigabytes of storage, for a thousand 99 with 12 gigabytes of RAM in the plus model, and then also a 512 gigabyte variant for 1199, and this one is actually the 256 gigabyte variant. Let's go ahead and open it up here it comes in four different colors or a glow, or a white, and I've already loosened this or a black, and then this one or a blue.

So let's go ahead and well before we take a look at that looks like we've got some paperwork underneath here. Let's take a look at this, and then it looks like we've got a sim card removal, tool or ejector tool, and that's everything inside here, and it looks like we've got a quick reference guide. Just has some information about the phone probably, and we'll take a closer look at that ourselves. Terms and conditions says it's packaged with a screen protector already on the display, which is nice and then get the most out of your phone. So we'll set those aside and take a closer look at the phone itself.

Let's go ahead and lift this out, and we'll pull this off and see what we've got here. So this is the phone itself we'll take a closer look at that in just a moment. Let's see what else is in the box here, this little pamphlet here and pull this out. We've got a fast charger, although this particular model can charge with up to a 45 watt charger. This one says superfast charging.

This one I think is a 25 watt charger and this one will charge quite fast, but not as fast as full speed see what we've got here. I've got two little tabs here. It looks like we've got some probably for the s-pen and then also maybe an adapter. It's an adapter for transferring data from one phone to another and then inside here see if we can get that out. There we go, and you can see here is well there's the little tool for changing the tip on the s-pen, so you've got the little a new tip for the s-pen and then also the tool for removing it.

So it's nice they've included that again they do that every year. Let me set these aside: let's see what else we've got here, and it looks like: we've got a USB, C cable, and it's USB-C 2, USB-C. It looks like, so that's included, and then we've got some headphones here and these have USB-C on them as well. So the note 10 plus removes the headphone jack, so we get some USB-C headphones. Let me set all of this aside, and we'll take a closer look at the phone itself.

Now this is the Galaxy Note, 10 and or the 10 plus, rather, and for a quick size. Comparison, I actually have an S, 10 plus here on the side, so this gives you an idea of size. It's a little taller, as you can see here. If I put them like this here, try not to bang them into each other. You'll see it's a little taller and just a little wider, not too much and the thickness is very close, they're they're, both made of metal, they both feel very high quality.

The note feels good in the hand- and it probably looks like a normal note instead of a note, 10 plus in my hand, now let's go around the outside the front and back are glass, of course. So you'll want to be careful with that they're Gorilla, Glass and then also on the side. We now have a Bixby slash power, sleep/wake button. Then we have a volume rocker, and this is on the left side of the phone on the top. We have our SIM card tray, and should have some expandable storage there.

Let's take a look at that. We'll pop this out here happen to have a SIM card, ejector tool handy. So it looks like we've got our SIM card tray along with spendable storage and that's up to one terabyte of extra storage and then in the top we've got some microphones. It looks like nothing on the right side of the phone, so no more buttons over here, which is kind of strange where your thumb lands. That's where you get to turn on the phone itself on the s10 plus and then on the bottom.

We've got our s-pen, our speaker, USB-C, and a microphone, and then the S Pen should charge itself while it's in place and now has a 6 F axis gyro in here as well. We'll take a look at that in a moment. Now the display should be one of the best in the industry. Samsung makes displays for iPhones, and they usually make some of the best displays for their own phones. So this is a six point.

Eight inch display 1440 by three thousand fourteen with a 19 to 9 aspect ratios in 498 pixels per inch. It also supports HDR, 10 plus now internally we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with an Arena 640 GPU. This is the United States variant. There are Enos variants as well around the world, and then we also have speakers top and bottom and their Dolby Atmos enhanced speakers and then on the front. We have a 10 megapixel camera with an F 2.2 aperture that is 26 millimeters wide. It also has the dual pixel autofocus and can record in 4k 30.

Now, if we take a look at the cameras on the back, this is where this gets a little interesting with the note 10 plus and the note 10 plus, has three cameras plus a depth sensor or a time-of-flight sensor. So we have a 12 megapixel, F 1.5, variable, aperture, 22.4, 27, millimeter, wide angle lens. Then we also have a 12 megapixel F 2.1, with a 52, millimeter telephoto lens and then also a 16 megapixel F 2.2 12 millimeter ultra-wide lens. We also have a time-of-flight 3d VGA depth camera as well. So we've got all of these really nice features built in now.

The phone itself is ip68 certified, so getting it wet shouldn't be too much of an issue and then also it has a 4300 William hour. Bad in the back that supports up to 45 watt fast charging in the 10 plus, so we can support that and supposedly 15 watt wireless charging as well now, along with all of that, we also get Wi-Fi a total Evan ABG and a C and an X or Wi-Fi six, it's dual-band and then also Bluetooth, 5.0 with apt X. So we've got all these really nice features and in the United States, supposedly there's an FM radio inside this as well. So let's go ahead and turn it on, and we'll get it set up now. Samsung has always had incredibly nice displays.

Of course, they make the displays custom order for Apple as well with their iPhone, so they've kind of always been ahead in the past few generations, based on the nicer displays that they're putting in things like the note and I like how it goes all the way to the edge with almost no bezel- and you can see that better here. So let's go ahead and set this up we'll hit next here. So it's going to talk me through this entire process. So you have to agree to the end-user License Agreement and privacy policy, so you can do that, but you don't have to agree to the diagnostic data we can set up our information either Wireless or with a cable. Maybe I'll use a cable here, we'll hit next.

So now, if I want to move data over, maybe I'll use my pixel three XL. It's already set up with all the Android apps that I like, so we can plug in USB-C to USB-C on the pixel I had to set up file transfer on the pixel itself, and now it says connecting to Android device to bring your data. So now it's connecting I'll, wait for it to transfer everything, and then we'll be right back once it's completed. Now that didn't take that long. So now it's asking me to sign in with Google, so I'll do that so now, we'll set the date and time will agree to Google services, and then we can protect our phone.

We can use face recognition or fingerprints I'm going to use fingerprints and hopefully this one's a lot better than the s 10 plus I had a lot of issues with that. One and I still do so. Now we're going to scan our fingerprint, so you'll see it says, press a little harder. Hopefully, like I, said this one's a lot better than the s10 plus there we go, and it's adding finishing touches, so I'm signed in to Samsung, we'll hit finish. It says: don't disconnect cable transferring, but it actually told me it already did that, so we should be all set now the phone's been set up, let's see how the fingerprint sensor is and much faster than the s10 plus I've had all sorts of issues with the fingerprint sensor on the s10 plus and many people have reported the same.

It seems like it's much much better faster, and it seems to work a lot better on this device. Now, there's a few features. I wanted to check out as we go over this. This is running Android 9 right now and let's take a look at the update version, so you can see here it's Android 9 and if we scroll down the security patch level is from August. So it's all up to date, it's getting the monthly security patch updates, so we're good to go there.

Now. As far as some features, one of the things that I thought was fascinating is with the s-pen. If we take the S Pen out here, and then we go over to Samsung notes, which I actually have opened you'll see I've written hi, we can put a line under it, whatever we want, and if we hit this button down here at the bottom, we can convert this to text, so we hit convert, and now it says hi now it didn't understand a couple of the scribbles. But let's try Solo tech, see if it understands it, and we'll hit the button here, and it says, convert, so it works really well and that's great if you have messy handwriting like myself, and you want to convert that to actual text that's searchable later on, and you want to save that. So that's one of the nice new features and then the Pens have gestures now or the S Pen has gestures.

Sure we'll turn that on and if we want to change modes, we hold the button down and then move the pen. It has a gyro in it. So if we move it you'll see actually it's taking a bunch of photos. Let's see, if we do this, we can move it. There we go live, focus video we can move.

It back looks like we have to press the button again to do that. It doesn't work incredibly well, but every time I do that I have to press and hold the button. So you'll see that there we go, and it's working now live focus. Video is new as well now I played around with this earlier and if you take a look at this video here, it's a little weird with the live focus. Video look at these edges right here.

It gets out of focus and things and I think it works better with people, but that was just an initial test. I'll try it out a little later now, there's also super steady shot, which should be really nice when you're using the video, and you need it to be super steady, but it is only 1080p and then there's also that depth of vision, camera on the back, which you can scan 3d objects, I'll have to take a closer look at that at another time. This also has Samsung, DEX and link to Windows as well, so you can use DEX plugged into a Mac and use this on your Mac, so I'm really interested to try that out and see what that's all about. But overall the phone feels incredibly fast anytime, I'm swiping through things you'll see it's really fast. My only complaint, maybe is I'm, not a huge fan of one UI I actually prefer the pixel launcher, so I may mess around with that with Nova Launcher, but you still get all the different pen features and everything built-in, and you've got the little side or apps edge here that works really well.

This screen protector- that's built in actually seems to go right up here. It's you'd barely know it's there with that screen protector, that's installed, so that's really nice and then, if I spin, the camera around here, and you'll, see to me, this looks perfect on the video and I actually have live focus now, so I don't know. If you can see that, but around my hair and things it's a little blurry, it's not exactly what a real lens would look like, but it's not bad at all overall for what you get for the amount of money compared to say an iPhone or something else, there's a tremendous amount of value here. It's just whether you like the curved edge of this glass, so I'll be looking at this more over the week or so and trying it out, and then I'll be doing a review on it. But let me know if there's anything specifically, you want to see that others haven't shown in different videos as well.

I, really like this blue color. The way it reflects light I think it's a little better in my opinion than the other colors. Of course there's the other ones, if you like those as well, I saw a red one that I really liked also. But let me know what you think in the comments below I'd love, to hear what you have to say about it and if there's any different, apps or features you think I should try out. Let me know- or maybe you want to know how gaming is that should be quite good on this device as well as having decent battery.

Now, if you'd like to get your hands on this wallpaper, I'll try and link it in the description. There's probably a few links out there already for it and if you haven't subscribed already, please subscribe and hit that notification bell. If you'd like to see more of these videos as soon as they're released, if you enjoyed the video, please give it a like, as always thanks for watching this is Aaron I'll see you next time.
