Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Unboxing & First Impressions!

Hello everybody, my name is Shane and in this video we're going to be checking out the Samsung Galaxy buds 2. These are Samsung's brand-new earbuds that were just announced and released, and they will be on sale in a couple of weeks. You can pre-order them now I'll have some links down in the description. If you want to check that out, for yourself the price is 150, so these are a little more money than the original Galaxy Buds that have been out for a couple of years at this point, but we have some additional features here on these buds too, that I'm definitely interested in checking out such as the active noise-canceling, which is coming to these buds too. It apparently is 98 percent noise reduction. It's certified so definitely going to be checking that out.

We have 5 to 20 hours of battery life expected on these buds too. I assume it's that lower five hour end because of that active noise-canceling, but I'm sure, if we can play with some of the settings we're going to get closer to that 20 hour mark. We also have a comfortable fit here. Advertised mainly because these are Samsung's lightest and smallest earbuds, yet they have been releasing a ton of earbuds the past couple of years between those original Galaxy Buds, the galaxy butts, plus the Galaxy Buds live and the Galaxy Buds pros there have been a ton of these buds coming out. If much prefer this naming the Galaxy Buds.2 just keeps things simple: we're not confused about pro or live or plus, or any of those things. Just this is our newest generation Galaxy Buds, 2.

, let's go ahead and check out see what we get in the box all right on the top here. I also forgot to mention that these come in four different colors. We have this graphite or black color. Here we have a white, we have an olive, and we have a lavender, but the interesting thing is with this new generation is that they all come with a white case on the outside very interesting move here by Samsung. Let's see what else quickly we get in the box here.

Have this little extra box. Most of these Galaxy Buds boxes. Look the same on the inside. We do get a charging cable, let's see what type of charging cable it is. We have a type a to type c charging cable to charge these back up and let's see we get in this really little box here.

All of these just dropped. Out of this little box I opened, but you're going to get some additional ear tips. This looks like a small size and a large size, but let's go ahead and check out these Galaxy Buds too. Very interesting change here from Samsung with the white casing on the outside, we have some gray Samsung branding here it's hard to see in the video, but here in person it's pretty visible to the eye. We have a black outline of.

What's going to be that inner case we have our type c port on the back for that type c charging, and we're also going to have wireless charging capable on these buds. But now, let's go ahead. Take a first look here at the Galaxy Buds, 2. Wow. I really actually like that contrast.

First impressions here kind of gives me some pixel, 2 vibes or just like kind of a panda color got the black got the white really liking. This overall look and design here and now. First look here at the buds themselves. These look very similar to the Galaxy Buds pro, but they're just a bit on the smaller side. So that's what these look like the most.

We can see that they have a reflective finish on the outside. It's not as aggressive as it was on some previous generation Galaxy Buds, and you can also see it's almost like an egg shape. It kind of looks like an egg to me. If let me know what you guys think in the comments below what these earbuds look like, but I can definitely tell already how much lighter and especially smaller these earbuds are, so I'm hoping that will translate to a very nice fit and feel in the ear we'll test that next out here, but we also have some silicone ear tips here, similar to the ones that I just showed you out of the box. These again appear to be the medium size.

We have pretty large letters here to indicate for your left and right ear. So I like that, it's pretty easy. You can see that easily of which one needs to go in which ear we also have a couple of mics on the outside. We got one on the top of the earbud and one on the bottom, I'm really liking. Just the entire rounded feel of these.

It has a very smooth feel in the hand, so I just feel like you'll appreciate that taking these in and out just it's a nice feeling earbud in the hands as well, jumping back to the case quickly, we can see on the outside. We have a light indicator of what our battery status is on the case itself, so we have a fully charged case right now with that green indicator. If you open up here, this light in here is going to be for the buds. So once you place these buds back into the case, you can see we have a red light here, so these are charging up once these are fully charged up. This will turn into a green light, but just testing out throwing them into the case.

I'm not having any problems here. Initially, let's go ahead and do a shake test here. Actually they stay in pretty well, which I'm surprised they come out very easy, but it also seems like no issues at all with the strength of those magnets first impressions of these guys in the ear is that they are very comfortable. You can definitely notice the lighter and smaller physical form factor of these earbuds, and I was a little worried because they are smaller, maybe they'd be a little more difficult to get in and out of the ear. But honestly, it's super easy.

The way these are shaped with their more rounded kind of egg shaped design, you're able to easily reach your finger into your ear and take out those earbuds with ease. Also, before this video goes on for any longer, I have to make a correction. These are not black. In my video setup and lighting setup, I thought these were a black color, but it's definitely the advertised graphite. So here on the box, it does kind of look like that.

These are black, and you have black lettering and everything. But when you go into the actual case and buds themselves, this is a graphite gray. Color here and same thing goes for the earbuds. We have the white on the outside and gray on the inside, but personally I'm digging this gray color. It's a nice change of pace from the conventional to black.

It's just interesting that there is no black color at all. We have this gray graphite, but now let's go ahead and pair these up with our phone. So as soon as you open the case, you're going to get a pop-up on your screen to let you know hey, these are ready to connect. Would you like to connect them, so just press connect? So once you begin the setup process, it's going to begin connecting you're going to be confirming to link this with your phone and really that was really short, you're all set. So here we are, we have the Galaxy Buds 2 and for those who don't know this is the galaxy wearable app, which you do not have to have a Samsung phone to use these earbuds.

You can use them with an android device or an iOS device. So first thing we can see here we have our buds on the top Galaxy Buds too. We have our battery indicators here, as well as the battery life of that case itself. So looking plenty good on battery, you can see it even shows you charging in real time. This just went from 76 to 77 percent.

So let's check out some tips to learn more about what these earbuds can do. Our first tip here how to wear your earbuds, really they just kind of nestle into your ear, without really having to do much adjusting of them some other earbuds. You really have to do a lot of twisting or get it in the perfect spot, but these they really just kind of nestled right into my ear. We have some touch controls here on the Galaxy Buds too, which we have a tab, we'll play or pause a track. A double tap will play the next track or answer a call triple tap will play the previous track and the touch and hold can be something that you set up like your voice assistant or something else, and something new on these Galaxy Buds, too, is the pairing process, is a little different here, you're going to be doing pairing from the case, so the earbuds in the case, usually, you have to take earbuds out and put them into your ears and then touch stuff on the earbuds, while they're in your ears to do connectivity.

This might simplify it a little by just keeping them in the case. Get your pairing done, while they're here and then once you're done with pairing, then you can put them into your ears and start using them for their intended purpose. Next up here we have our noise controls, so we have the ambient sound option here. I'm able to hear everything right now as I'm making this video, as I would, if I wasn't wearing the earbuds at all, and then we have our active noise-canceling on this side of things and yeah. This has definitely turned down the volume.

A lot in my surroundings definitely going to test these features more for the full review, but I can definitely tell that the active noise-cancelling is doing a very good job here, jumping back into the touch controls. We went over this a little, but this is a new menu here that I haven't seen before. For this setup, this looks a little more streamlined. If you want certain settings to be on, you can toggle each one on and off, which is really nice. This is much preferred in my opinion.

You see everything on one screen, you're going to be able to easily configure this. The way you want it to jump into earbuds settings. We have a lot of things in here, starting off with our equalizer. We have just a simple menu here of what we want. I usually put this on dynamic or bass boost we'll.

Try dynamic for now we have an option to read notifications aloud. So, if you, like your notifications, read to you there, you have that we have Bixby voice. Wake up. We have seamless earbud connection here. This is going to be exclusive to people with a Samsung account, and they have their devices all linked onto the same account.

That's going to allow you to easily use these earbuds between any of your devices now here we have the earbud fit test. So this is another new feature of these Galaxy Buds too. These are going to be able to sense whether these are a good fit for you, so I currently have the medium tips in so let's just go ahead. Try out this test, so put your earbuds in to start. I already have mine in let's go ahead and start there's a little chime that plays while it does its test.

We see good fit good, fit jumping into labs. Here we do have the gaming mode, which has been on previous generation Galaxy Buds, less latency when you're playing games- and this has drastically improved on some previous generation Galaxy Buds just compared to that original Galaxy Buds. So definitely going to be testing this out more for the four of you see how that latency is here on the galaxy, but too we do have a couple accessibility options. One that's interesting to me is active noise-canceling in one earbud. I haven't seen this before that disables.

If you are using one normally, but you can set that to adjust that if you'd like and there's also a find my earbuds feature to be able to find these earbuds, should you lose them? The phone will send a chime to the earbuds, and from that point you should hopefully be able to find your lost buds. Also, as far as the touch controls go, I'm really enjoying the touch controls so far on these earbuds. You can see on the screen right now, I'm switching between the active noise-canceling and the ambient sound using the touch and hold feature, and as far as taking them in and out goes when you take them out, they will turn back to the off setting and then, when you put them back in, they will go back to whatever setting they were just on. So I'm assuming that's some sort of battery saving measure. If you took these out and just put them down and maybe not put them back into your case, that will probably save a decent amount of battery.

But now what you've probably been waiting for is the sound test. So let's go ahead, play some tracks here, and I'll. Give you guys my first impressions on the audio quality here on the Galaxy Buds too. So after some initial listening here on the Galaxy Buds 2. , I am overall initially impressed here with the sound quality and audio quality coming from these earbuds.

Now the bass is definitely not as punchy as something like my Sony wf1000xm4s. These are about twice the price, but just to give you a point of reference as to what I'm personally experiencing here on the Galaxy Buds, 2 and the volume is also quite high, I would say it is as high as you would need it to be without damaging your ears. So I had this on the max volume, and it was definitely an enjoyable experience if you're looking for a lot of volume, also in some of my initial testing here, the noise-canceling on these was again not as intense as it was here on these earbuds that I've been personally using for about a month now the Sony, wf-1000xm4, but again you're talking about double the price, and these are also probably double the size of the Galaxy Buds too. I usually don't even use these out of the house, I'm usually just using these in the house for shorter periods of time. The benefit with these Galaxy Buds too, is that you're getting all aspects of a good pair of truly wireless earbuds, and it's also coming in a portable package.

So that is the biggest thing for me. Is that these I feel like are going to be very good for taking with you on the go. They have all the core features you would need from the ambient sound modes to the noise-canceling sound modes to your type c charging and wireless charging on the case to a battery life. That is hopefully good, we're going to test that more here in the next couple of days, but overall, first impressions here on the Galaxy Buds 2. I am super impressed with these earbuds.

I feel like this is all around just a great rendition of what Samsung has been trying to achieve, with their earbuds in general, they've been again coming out with all these different kinds. It's been getting kind of confusing, but the Galaxy Buds, too are bringing everything that Samsung wants to have in their pairs of truly wireless earbuds, in addition to a relatively affordable price. Considering the features you are getting here like that active noise cancellation, but stay tuned for the full review on these guys I'll have that dropped on the channel in a couple of days from now, so make sure you're subscribed for that, and let me know what your thoughts are on the Galaxy Buds 2 initially here down in the comments below and if you enjoyed this video, then be sure to give it a thumbs up, and please consider subscribing to the Shane Simon's YouTube channel today, thanks so much for watching, take care.
