Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 Review: A new level of gimmick?

When, the presence of dual camera in a single smartphone is becoming mainstream and the concept of triple cameras is still sapling. Samson pushed all its limits and brought four cameras in a single smartphone. Yes, you heard it right. Four cameras in one smartphone that too, at the back. Yes, I am talking about the Samsung Galaxy II 928 eating that features of the rule of five cameras. Now with so many cameras, this phone certainly does something interesting.

But how does the smartphone fare in real life? Usage? I will be answering that question in this review, since the cameras are the major highlight of this phone. Let's start off with the cameras itself, as I mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy II 92018 features of quad camera setup at the back are containing the primary shooter. There are three additional lenses, each one doing a unique test, so let me explain each one of them. The top was camera among. The four is an ultra wide-angle lens.

The camera lens is an 8 megapixel sensor with focal 2.4 aperture. It basically extends the field of view up to 120 degrees, just as wide as the pair of human eyes can see. The second camera on the galaxy. A 9 is the telephoto lens paired with a 10 megapixel sensor and focal 2.4 aperture. This camera promises to capture images with two exhuming without any loss in the image quality.

The primary shooter lies on the third from the top. It is equipped with a 24 megapixel sensor and a wide focal 1.7 aperture. The major purpose of the wide aperture is let in a plenty of light into the sensor, which helps capture amazing images, even in low-light settings. The last one is a 5 megapixel depth sensor with Poco 2.2 aperture. Now you all know what a depth sensor does highlight in the subject and blurring the background to give portrayed images with bogey effects.

Yes, the phone has all sorts of lenses and I had all sorts of expectations with this device, but when I took pictures, I was thoroughly disappointed. The primary camera, despite being rich on the megapixel count with a 24 megapixel resolution, could not quite fax off share details into the images. If wasn't the case all the time, but I also had problems while focusing on the subjects, and that's not all some captured images even had inaccurate colors in low-light settings things get even worse. They already not sure sharp images lose details further with noise and whatnot, and some images were absolutely useless, disappointed with the primary camera I toggle to the ultra wide-angle setting, and it did not fare any better as well. It, too, lacked the punch when it comes to details.

I also noticed a slight change in color temperature in the images from the primary camera and the ultra-wide camera. The captured images also seem to have a fish eye effect with a slight visual distortion near the edges, due to which the images look white slightly hemispherical. With these disappointments I was still expecting positive results from the telephoto camera, but adding insult to the injury, the telephoto camera detected me further. Although Samsung claims it can shoot with lossless zooming, the captured photos said otherwise you can see for yourself from the sample and, lastly, I toggle, to the light focus option to turn on the depth. Sensing camera I took lots of portrait images during my one month of use and just look at these portraits.

You can see for yourself observe the jittery edge, detection and unnatural blurs. Yes, it has the option to select the focus area and blur the intensity. It was still hard to obtain a decent portrait image most of the time. The red cameras on this phone failed to provide decent results. So the quad camera setup appears to me like a gimmick and a stunt that they failed to perform.

Also, we have seen Samsung make compromises on other aspects of the smartphone, but never on the camera front. So I thought to reach out to Samsung thinking that this might be a faulty review unit, but promptly I was told that all the review units that everyone got were betters and not the media units I was told that the retail units that would go to the customers will have polished software and won't have such kind of issues. However, during my review time, this phone was not available for sales to the customer, so I could not check the differences, but when they do become available, I will have to do an in-depth, a review to check if Samson delivers what it actually promises. But for now this is what it is continuing with the camera. There is also a 24 megapixel selfie camera on the front which, unlike the rear camera, captures amazing images.

There's also a selfie focus feature to capture the portrait surface since there's just a single camera on the front software does all the words on blurring the background, so the portrait selfies lack proper edge detection, but it was decent enough for my liking. Now talking about the videos, we are not sure what kind of stabilization Samsung has included in the cameras, but the videos are quite stabilized and, unlike photos, I have liked the videos also videos from the front camera do a good job as well. Now, let's dive into other aspects of the phone when it comes to design the Samsung Galaxy, nine looks absolutely stunning: it comes with a tall and sleek body, wrapped in a plastic bag and reinforced with a metallic frame. The plastic body on a premium adventure, surely does not sound appealing, but it is also very cleverly crafted that gives it a feel of a glass bag and, while holding the phone during my usage, it offered me a premium impression. All the buttons are on the right, at least all the important points.

Anyway. The dedicated big V button is on the left, which I don't use it much, and I can't think of anyone who does either. But the sad part is it can neither be turned off nor be remapped, so you have to learn to live with that at the back. The fingerprint sensor is at a good location, just where my finger rests while holding a smartphone, so unlocking the device wasn't a problem for me at all. On the display front, the galaxy a 9 comes with a 6 point: 3 inch, full HD, plus display featuring a Super AMOLED panel with a Super AMOLED panel at disposal.

The content looks lively with appreciable contrast, ratio, viewing angles and color accuracy are also very impressive. During the review, I got a chance to compare it with the 1 plus 6 and in the comparison I did not find any major differences that definitely cues a premium quality display so kudos to Samsung for the more the screen on the phone is also sufficiently bright, and I did not have any issues, even while viewing the contents even on a bright sunny day. But the thing that bugged me on this phone is the absence of notification LED lights. This phone, however, has always on this day feature as a replacement for that, but this feature does not quite alert the users about the notifications, and it also consumes a considerable amount of power than the notification LEDs. As for the performance, the 92018 is powered by snapdragon 616 chipsets, which is not bad by any means, but the 1 + 6 + me 8, are offering snapdragon 845 in a similar price, so the choice of chipset in the a9 20:18 is not extraordinary.

But what did please me was the generosity. In the memory side, the phone has a good 6 GB of ddr2 RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. On top of it, there's a dedicated SD card to expand the storage further, so with plenty of RAM at helm and a decent chipset onboard. The phone performs remarkably well multitasking and switching between apps is also blazing fast. Similarly, while playing games, the food does not side with fatty playing like games was a breeze on this phone I did try to maintain consistency, even while playing graphics, intensive games, but hadn't been quite successful.

The Adrian 512 GPU yields in average FPS count while playing high-end games at medium settings and that too, with occasional, lags and starters. So considering the price, it's not very convincing. The galaxy. A 92018 comes with android earlier out-of-the-box, with experience UI on top. As usual, like all the other Samsung smartphones, this one too comes with tons of bloatware, but since most of them can be disabled or uninstalled, there is nothing much to worry about.

But what did Bob me was the inclusion of Android audio on the phone since the phone was launched after the rollout of a stable version of Android 5. I was hoping for the latest software, but that was not the case here. The aspect where the galaxy 92018 shines is, on the battery front, the phone rocks with a massive 3,800 mAh battery, that's truly respectable ta 92018 features an efficient processor and an AMOLED display. It does really well when it comes to back up the phone easily lasts for a day and a half on normal usage and I usually ended up with 35 to 40 percent charge left on my phone at the end of the day. So I am totally satisfied with the backup it provides.

The four takes around one hour and 40 minutes to get fully charged and also comes with fast charging, 15 watts of power. So, to sum it up, the 92018 has got a fancy design, decent chipset, remarkable display and a respectable battery life. However, the camera performance is just subpar further price, and even if the camera performance improves with a software update like Samsung promises, the phone still does not make sense at this price range. At a similar price, you can get the 1 + 6 + 1 + 60, with a better performance in every aspect than the a9 2018. So that is all for the review of the a9 2018.

Tell us what you think about the device in the comment section below till then I'm prey, matey khaki, and thank you for watching.
