Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) vs Galaxy S7 Edge Camera Comparison By Grant Likes Tech

Hey how's it going everyone grant here and welcome back to another camera samples video. This time it's between the Galaxy a7 and the Galaxy S7 edge now I've been saying my previous videos that I think the Galaxy a7, despite being a less expensive mid-range phone, could probably replace the high-end and very expensive Galaxy S7 edge for a lot of people in my day-to-day usage performance has been fine, and I really think that not only bit in performance, but it looks in design and everything I think a lot of people very would be very happy and saving a good amount of money and getting the a7 in that fps 7 edge. The only gap that I was probably thinking there would be in the cameras. Now the a7 has a pair of dual 16 megapixel cameras with a wide aperture of f/4 1.9, and the Galaxy S7 edge has some of the best cameras on the market. So I really want to put this to the test and try to see how the galaxy a7 cameras compared to the s7 edge in real life, so I'm going to be taking some photos and video from both the front and rear facing cameras like I, normally do and good and low light situations, and I'll post them up here in the video for you to decide, I'll, compare them side-by-side. I did a camera sample video on the Galaxy a7, and it performed pretty well in low-light video just as a bit dark.

So this will be an interesting comparison and let's see how the ESM performs all right guys. So we've got the rear camera footage rolling on the Galaxy a7 and the s7 edge it's being filmed at 1080p, 30 frames per second, because that is the highest frame rate and resolution that the a7 can film at. Of course, the s7 s can film up for 4k, but I want to make it a fair test. It's a little overcast area, but the Sun is peeking through. So we should really get some good contrast here between the sky and all this greenery that we see here I'm near Street, so we'll test the directional audio on each of these devices to see how my voice comes across.

Against that background, noise I'll do a little panning around, so you can take a look here. What so far they both look pretty good in the viewfinder, the s7 edge looks to be a little brighter. We'll go up to this guy here, see it's a little overcast, but you see some blue peaking out there, along with some Sun a little walking, so he passes stabilization on each and again. These are mounted at the same mount. So it should be a fair test of the stabilization as you walk here, and we'll go back, and we'll get in tight on some of these flowers a little the bright magenta so see how that comes across on camera, we'll see how far, and we can get for focusing there.

We go we'll come back out again, I'm going one more time there we go one last pat around and again my dog. This is our time to play, so I like to bring her out. She can enjoy the grass a little of Sun, so that's just a quick timer sample of the rear facing camera on the galaxy a7 and SM edge. Okay, everyone, here's some front-facing footage at night, I want to give you a sample of what this looks like in low-light. So far, the a7 has been holding on very well against the s7.

Even low-light. Photography I've noticed that both the front and rear cameras here look very dark, though, for video, but the audio so far has been pretty much equal and on par. Samsung has some perfect directional audio, or it does a perfect job of picking up some really solid audio from the speaker's voice and running on the background, and the a7 is no exception. So far the travel photos I took it sounds perfect, but here is some sample footage at night. Try to get some of those streetlights back there I don't see too much lens flare, let's just a little of lens flare out of a 7.

Maybe that sudden looks pretty good, but here's where the m7 really shines. It seems in low lights, video for both the front and rear facing cameras. The s7 looks a lot brighter a lot better. The a7 is just going to be a lot darker for video, but it's interesting because for still photography, the a7 looked perfect, even in low-light, so just want to bring you some quick sample footage here from the front-facing camera. Give you idea of how they perform a little light.

Okay- and here we go at night again with the rear facing camera- want to bring you some low-light footage from the rear facing camera here. So again, it's pretty dark. We've only got some of those lights that you see there by the garages and the scenes lit by this one streetlight here. So you kind of see lens flares going into direct bright light, but that's really extreme thing. Most cameras would do a quick focus test, maybe in some low-light, let's see how the cameras do there, and then we'll do a little walking.

So you can judge the stabilization. These are again both mounted to the same mount a shot at Timmy, P, 30 frames per second, since that is a max resolution. D Galaxy a7 will shoot us and so now we're moving away from the light you can really see how the s7 is. Is its a perfect job, with picking up whatever surrounding light? There is well be a seven while dark is actually pretty realistic, and it's focusing on that one light you see over there so clear difference here between the 7x7 and low-light. Now here's a summary of what I think about these cameras.

I'll preface this by saying I'm, not a camel expert. These are just my opinions. After using the cameras and downloading the photos and videos to my computer for better viewing, so I apologize if I messed up any terminology first off in the front facing camera date time, video, the seven colors are darker and more saturated to the bush. In the background on far left, also, the background isn't as sharp and well-defined as a seven I know sounds good in both with each doing a nice job of clearly picking up the sound of my voice. However, that seven takes the one here for me in the rear facing camera daytime video, the seven colors are again darker and the video has more shake it's not as stable as at seven, while the a7 again performs pretty well I'm, giving the win here to the s7.

Taking a look at the rear cameras, no photos. The a7 does well to keep up with the s7 and looks very similar in most photos. Maybe there's just a bit darker colors, the biggest difference of the show in the shot into the sky, where the a7 is clearly darker with less detail in the clouds get some is brighter, for the most natural picture would be somewhere in between the ACM performs well in macro shots, except this one where there are two focus points here: the s7 focus very fast and had no issue snapping the photo quickly with great bouquet, while the a7 putting getting closer without losing focus. Overall again, the a7 performs very well, but I'm, giving the win to the s7. Looking at indoor photos from both the front and rear cameras.

The quality is surprisingly pretty similar with the s7 having a little more detail. I can see how some may prefer the a7, so I call indoor photos from both the front and rear facing cameras, a draw for front camera selfies again. The a7 is darker, more saturated colors, and it's also not as sharp with less detail. The a7 white belie shots have a much wider field of view for those of you, but the s7, with a better overall quality, beats out the a7 here for me, look at that low light night to-dos from the red camera, the s7 s more detail check out the mole to the base of the fountain and the a7 produces a brighter haze due to the bright lights. While the a7 exceeds expectations here, I give the win to the s7.

The white light photos from their front. Camera shows that the a7 shots are surprisingly nice and bright, but the s7 is clearly sharper. So while the a7 performs better than expected again the SM and takes the 1 again for me, both the front and rear camera video at night from the ACM comes out very dark with less stabilization and more shake. The audio is pretty close and good in both, but the wind clearly goes to the s7. This was an interesting comparison for me, as I thought.

The f7 would clearly be better than the a-sun in every way. However, the a7 definitely exceeded my expectations and performed very closely to the s7. The s7 is a way clearly outperformed, the a7 individual stabilization and low-light video in all the areas the a7 is able to hold its own. It's so close that I believe many people would be perfectly satisfied using the a7 camera if they didn't compare directly to the s7. Really that's what I think, and I'm always more interested to hear what you think.
