Samsung Galaxy A50s Review – Best New Phone Under Rs. 25,000 Right Now? By Gadgets 360

The brand new Samsung Galaxy, a 50 s is priced starting at 22,000 999 rupees in India, which is a slight bump up compared to the Galaxy, a 50. It joins the party slightly after the high-profile Redmi k20 and is also going to compete with at least one previous generation flagship, which has fallen in price. So if you have a budget of 25,000 rupees, which smartphone should you buy, we are reviewing the brand-new Galaxy, a 50 s to find out before we get started. The front of this phone is pretty much all screen with a small camera, not at the top there's a fairly thick chain, while the sides and top borders are much narrower on the rear. We have an off-center geometric pattern of crisscrossing lines with different shades of color in each segment.

Thankfully, this design isn't quite as prone to picking up smudges and fingerprints as the mirror, like finish of the Galaxy, a 50, but it still needs to be wiped several times per day. We found the tone a little too warm, but in order to adjust this, we have to switch color modes from natural to vivid, which we found put a bit too much strain on our eyes. Other than that. This is a display for watching movies and playing games on the single speaker is predictably, not that great for music, but will do well enough if you want to listen to dialogue in video.

The bundled headsets Earbuds are made out of hard plastic, and it's not only uncomfortable but also barely adequate for anything more than voice calls. However, our experiences with day-to-day usage were pleasant enough. We did feel a bit of unexpected sluggishness in general user first, who soon realized that the default animated lock screen wallpaper was the problem. We also found a reduced animation struggle in the advanced section of the Settings app, which made a huge difference to responsiveness. Pusey Mobile ran at its high settings by default, but after about 15 minutes of playing, we found that the upper half of the rear of this phone had become noticeably walk.

It wasn't too bad at first, but it did become uncomfortable after a long match. As for 9, legends also ran very well and didn't seem to make the galaxy a 50s as wall. The battery is fairly large at 4000 William hours and 15 watt fast charging is possible. Although you get a 10 watt charger in the box, the galaxy a 50 s delivered solid day long battery life. In our tests we could get through a full day of relatively heavy usage, including lots of photo and video recording a few rounds of popular games and constant web browsing with about 25% left by late night.

Our HD video loop test ran for 13 hours and 16 minutes, which is also less than or the previous model delivered. Thankfully, charging is quick, and we got from zero to about 30% in half an hour. That brings us to one big new feature of this phone. It's 48, megapixel, f/2 primary rear camera. It's joined by an 8 megapixel, F, 2.2, wide-angle camera and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera has also been upgraded with a 32 megapixel resolution and f/2 aperture.

The primary rear camera took great shots when there was plenty of light in the daytime. Textures were crisp and there was natural depth of field in close-up shots. Even without the light focus effect. Colors were vibrant and there was very good detail within the focus area of most shots. Life focus mode, didn't always get shots perfect and sometimes resulted in a loss of detail.

You can adjust the intensity of the background, lower and also add motion, auto spot color effect after taking a shot, but you can't adjust the focus point. Unfortunately, the wide-angle camera produced jarringly skewed photos with highly unrealistic perspective subjects in the center of the frame such as people appeared squashed. While there was severe barrel distortion at the edges, we would also somewhat underwhelm with all the shots we took at night. The galaxies a 50s often took a while to lock focus or fail to do so. There was noticeable shutter lag and photo quality was just about.

Okay, if we didn't soon to check details at all, the wide-angle camera also delivered much poorer performance at night. The night mode did improve the brightness and tone of wide shots a little but didn't do much for close-ups and the results were sometimes blotchy and unusable. The front-facing 32 megapixel camera takes bin shots by default with a 4 by 3 H option. If you want to use the full resolution, selfies came out looking. Ok, though we preferred disabling beautification, video recording goes up to 4k 30fps with the primary ray camera and the front one to the wide-angle.

Toggle disappears when this resolution is selected, and you'll see a message saying that stabilization is not supported. There's also a ten-minute recording limit. You can only switch between cameras before you start shooting a clip not while recording is in progress. Foolishly, videos decent and you can see the effect of electronic stabilization, but there's still some jitter and focus on tape at 4k. It's best to stay still while filming, but video is definitely crisp and detailed.

The wide-angle camera takes rather low quality, Full HD video at night. Detail offers quite a lot and hand movements caused a lot of shakiness it's best to avoid using the wide-angle camera for video in low-light altogether when compared to the galaxy a fifty. The only thing that's really new. On the galaxy, a 50 s is the 48 megapixel rear camera, which can deliver some very good shots in the data. Unfortunately, the supporting ultra-wide camera is far from the best that we've seen, and this is now nearly a standard feature for mid-range Android smartphones.

Low-Light performance was disappointing across the body. We can't help but compare this phone to the demo k20, which sells for a lower starting price in India and offers a superior processor, a knotless screen, better battery life, better build quality and arguably, better cameras, there's also the previous generation flagship, Asus before 5 Z, to consider because it has now fallen in price and sells for roughly the same amount. If you have made up your mind to buy the galaxy a 50s, it will most probably make more sense for you to buy the lower priced variant, which has 4gb of RAM it'll, only really make sense to pay 2,000 rupees extra for 6 GB of RAM. If you plan to run a lot of heavy games or if you plan to hold on to your phone for the next several years, if either of those things is a factor for you, you're most likely looking at the more powerful options in this price band anyway.
