Samsung Galaxy A21s vs Samsung Galaxy A20s - Who Will Win?

In this video we're gonna, be comparing the Samsung Galaxy a21s versus the Samsung Galaxy a20s. Now to see the most up-to-date pricing for both of these devices take a look at the links in the video description. In addition to that, I'm also going to be linking over to Samsung's website so that you can see the latest trade-in deals that they're offering as well. I definitely recommend looking into that too, because you can potentially save a lot of money on a new Samsung phone by trading in one of your older android devices. So take a look at all of those links in the video description now the Samsung Galaxy a21s was released in june 2020 and the Samsung Galaxy a20s was released in october 2019. , so the two devices are roughly eight or nine months apart compared to when they were first launched and at this point in late 2020.

Both of these phones are actually still very relevant. Both devices feature 6.5 inch displays both phones also feature 720p displays with the a21s we're getting a PPI of 270 compared to a PPI of 264, with the a20s and with the a21s. We're getting a 20x9 aspect ratio compared to a 19 and a half by nine aspects: ratio with the a20s, so the a21s is technically a bit taller and more narrow compared to the a20s. Now you can see when holding these two phones up next to each other they're about the same size, but since the a21s has a smaller bottom bezel compared to the a20s, we do have extra space for that taller display. Now.

One big difference between these two phones is up top here. So with the a21s, we have a hole punch for the front facing camera compared to a water drop notch for the front-facing camera for the a20s. Now the a21s front-facing camera is 13 megapixels compared to 8 megapixels with the a20s now internally, there's quite a few differences as well. The a21s features 64 gigabytes of internal storage compared to 32 gigabytes of internal storage with the a20s. So we are getting half the amount of internal storage here with the a20s compared to the a21s.

Now both devices do feature micro, SD card expansion. So if you do need more space, you do have the ability to expand it with either of these two phones. Now neither of these two devices feature wireless charging, but they both feature fingerprint sensors on the back. So let's give those a try right now, so we'll start off here with the a21s, so that was very fast and then now the a20s, and that was very quick as well. In addition to having fingerprint sensors on the back, both devices also support face unlock, so you do have multiple methods to access the phones.

Now there are some pretty major differences when it comes to the camera modules on the rear. So with the a21s, we do have a quad camera setup, so we have a 48 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel, ultra-wide angle, camera, a 2 megapixel dev sensing camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera compared to the a20s, with a 13 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 megapixel depth, sensing camera so essentially with the a21s, we're gaining the macro camera, and then we're also getting a higher amount of megapixels for the main camera and both devices support portrait mode for both the rear and front cameras. Now here's how things look on the camera apps for both devices. This is on the main camera right now then, from here we can switch over to the ultra-wide angle, cameras and fit a lot more content into the frame. It does seem like, though the a21s does have a bit of a wider ultra-wide camera compared to the a20s and then with the a21s.

We can go to the more tab to access the macro mode, and then we can use that macro camera to get nice detailed, close-up pictures and then with both phones. We can switch over to live focus mode to get those nice blurred out backgrounds, and then we can switch over to the front-facing cameras on both devices as well, and you get the same effect here now. As far as the ram and processor go. There are some very major differences between these two phones. So with the a21s we have four gigabytes of ram and with the a20s we have three gigabytes of ram and with the a21s we have the Samsung Enos 850 processors, compared to the Qualcomm snapdragon 450 with the a20s, now expect the a21s to perform better due to it having more ram and a more powerful processor.

But I did run a benchmark test using geek bench 5 with both of these phones, and you can see the scores right here. So what I recommend doing is running the geek bench 5 test on your current phone and then compare those scores to these scores. To get a good idea of how these two phones compare to your current device when it comes to performance, but with the a21s we have a single core score of 183 compared to 148 with the a20s, and then we have a multi-core score of 1092 with the a21s compared to 921 with the a20s. So without a doubt here, the numbers are better with the a21s so again expect to get better performance with this device. Now video recording, with both devices maxes out at 1080p at 30fps, with both the front and rear cameras with the a21s, we're getting a very large 5, 000 William hour internal battery, and we're getting a slightly smaller battery at 4 000 William hours with the a20s so expect to get better battery life with the a21s as well.

But now that we've gone over the major specifications of both devices, let's now compare the hardware. It's already talked quite a bit about the front panels here on both phones, essentially with the a21s, we're getting that hole punch for the front-facing camera compared to the water drop notch with the a20s and then down at the bottom. Here we do have a slightly thinner bottom bezel, with the a21s. Now both phones do feature an all plastic, build minus the displays which are glass and taking a look on the left side of both devices. They both have the slot for the micro SD card and sim card and then with the a20s, with the volume up and volume down buttons, then taking a look on the right side of both phones with the a21s.

We have the volume up volume down, and we have the power button and then, with the a20s. We just have the power button. Then taking a look at the top of both devices. They both have the noise-canceling microphone and then taking a look at the bottom of both phones. We have pretty much the same exact setup as both phones do have a speaker.

They both have an USB port for charging and data transfer. They both have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and they both have the microphone and then taking a look at the back side of both devices. We do have similar yet different designs with the camera module with the a21s. It is in a rectangular form factor here, and it is a quad camera setup compared to a bean pod format with the a20s, and then both phones have the fingerprint sensor and Samsung logos. Now both phones do feature reflective backs.

However, with the a21s we have more of a rainbow tint to it compared to the a20s, where we're getting a wavier. Look. Let's now do a speed test comparison between these two phones, so we're gonna start by pulling up the camera apps on both. So one two three go, and it looks like the h21s was first at pulling up the camera. Let's now go to Google Chrome on both devices, so one two three go and the a21s was faster at pulling up.

Google Chrome. Let's now go to esp non both phones, one two three go, and it looks like the a21s was faster at pulling up this website. Let's now go to endgadget. com on both phones, one two three go and the a21s was definitely a lot faster at pulling up end gadget compared to the a20s, both phones, things did load up decently quickly. Scrolling is pretty smooth on the a21s.

Also, about equal in smoothness with the a20s: let's now go to this article, one two three go, and it looks like the h1. Yes was faster at pulling up this article compared to the a21s, which is pretty interesting and the a21s is actually still loading the article. So that's pretty interesting there. So, in conclusion, which of these two phones is the better choice of the two well with the a21s, it does have quite a few improvements that I think do make it the better purchase of the two. Of course, if the prices are the same for both phones without a doubt get the a21s, but most likely, if you go for the a20s, you are gonna, be saving some money, so it really comes down to whether or not it's worth paying the extra money for the a21s.

So the first benefit with the a21s. Is that we're getting double the amount of internal storage? The second benefit is that we're getting a 20x9 aspect ratio display. So it is a bit taller, a bit more of an efficient form factor in that sense, we're also getting much better cameras with the a21s compared to the a20s we're getting a bigger battery at 5000, William hours, we're getting more ram with an extra gigabyte with the a21s, and then we're getting a better processor as well. Now, what's interesting is that both phones have been updated to android 10. The a21s originally came with android 10 and then the a20s recently got the android 10 updates.

Now I don't know if, when or ever the a20s is going to be getting android 11, it might never get that update, but the 821s is definitely guaranteed to eventually get that update to android 11. So if you do want to get a device, that's going to give you android 11 eventually, then I would say the a21s is the better option of the two as well, but I hope this comparison between these two budget phones from Samsung helped you out with deciding which one to go with. Definitely let me know what you think about these two devices and which one you prefer, but this is Kevin here thanks for watching, and I will see you in the next one.
