Samsung Galaxy A12 - Pros and Cons!

Hey everybody- this is Andre here covering for Kevin on the Kevin breeze channel, and today we're going to be going over some pros and cons of the Samsung Galaxy a12 for more information on the pricing and availability or just some general info on the device be sure to check the link in the description. This link is going to take you right to the phone on Samsung's website, where a lot of the time they offer some great trade-in deals that you might not be able to find anywhere else. That being said, let's get started so the first big pro about this phone is its display. This phone has a six and a half inch pl sips lcd, with a resolution of 720p, a PPI of 264, an aspect ratio of 20 by nine and an 85.5 percent screen to body ratio. This display is definitely really nice right now. I do have the brightness at a hundred percent, and it looks perfect aside from the quality of the display.

Being great, the screen is also huge. So, if you're doing a lot of content consumption, this is definitely going to come in handy. In addition to this, the 85.5 screen to body ratio means the bezels are very small, giving the phone an overall, really nice modern, look. On the other hand, a con to this phone is the front facing camera. Now this phone has a water drop notch for the front facing camera, and I'm really not a fan of this look with this style.

It really comes out of the bezel, and it doesn't really look very appealing at all. It makes the phone look a little older, and it's really not necessary. Considering that manufacturers have been moving more towards hole, punch, front-facing cameras, it doesn't make a lot of sense why this phone still has a notch, especially considering its other features that make it look more modern. If the phone had a hole punch instead of a notch for the front facing camera, then the bezel would be a little smaller, making a lot more room for the screen. I think, overall, the hole punch, look for front-facing cameras gives the phone a much more modern and appealing.

Look one big pro for this phone is the fingerprint scanner these days. Normally fingerprint scanners are either on the back of the phone somewhere over here or on the screen on the display in cases of phones like the iPhone. They don't even have fingerprint scanners at all, and you have to rely on either the passcode or the face ID, which is definitely not ideal. Instead of those options, the fingerprint scanner is actually on the power button itself. Now, when you go to unlock a phone, you usually do press the power button before entering a passcode, putting your finger on a scanner putting your face on the camera or any of those things.

So it really makes sense for the fingerprint scanner to be right on the power button, so it unlocks like normal. This is probably the fastest possible way to unlock your phone and still be secure. Just to give you an idea of just how fast this is right. Now the phone is completely locked that took absolutely no effort at all. I really do like this fingerprint scanner and I really wish that more phones had one like this.

On the other hand, another con of this phone is the processor. Now this phone has 4 gigabytes of ram with the MediaTek hello p35 processor. Now this processor isn't awful, but at the same time it's not very impressive either. I ran a geek bench 5 benchmark test on this phone a while ago, and it has a single core score of 169 and a multi-core score of 965. Now, if you're, just using a phone for basic activities like sending text messages, making calls maybe a little of content consumption, this isn't really going to be that big a deal.

But if you're trying to do anything else, that really requires any processing power other than the basic normal things. Then this phone is most likely going to have a little of trouble and really with how new it is and all the other features it does have. Along with how good the display is. I would have liked to see a better processor that has more impressive numbers. Another pro for this phone is its battery.

This phone has a 5 000 William hour battery that supports 15 watt fast charging. Now this is a very impressive battery, you're, really not going to get that much more than 5000 William hours when it comes to a battery right now, so this phone definitely does have a very powerful battery. That's going to last you a long time and with that fast charging, it's going to be even better now another con for this phone is the materials. Now. That being said, the materials aren't really that bad, but in comparison to a lot of other phones out there, it really could be better.

The phone is made all around pretty much of plastic, and while it does feel decently, durable and sturdy, it really doesn't feel very high-end. When you're holding this, you can tell that it's really nothing special, it's not a very high-end phone and in some cases it does feel a little cheap. Now, the cameras of this phone are definitely a big pro. The phone has a quad camera setup with a 48 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2 megapixel depth, sensing camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera. Now this is definitely impressive for a phone at this level, and it really does have some great features that a lot of other phones don't.

This is the normal camera mode of this phone, and really the image is very good quality, especially considering the level of this phone with the 48 megapixel rear camera. This phone's definitely capable of taking some perfect pictures and the colors are really balanced as well. This is the ultra-wide mode of the phone, and normally the ultra-wide cameras of more entry level or mid-range phones are usually a little distorted, but this one does look perfect. Now this is the portrait mode of the camera, and it's perfect that 2 megapixel depth. Sensing camera really does make a difference.

It's definitely able to blur out the background and focus on the subject effectively and if you want to control the blur of the background, you can do that as well. Overall, I think this camera is really impressive, and another really nice thing about this phone is that it's actually able to shoot video in 1080p, which, in comparison to a high level flagship phone, is definitely not really anything special, but considering the level of this phone and the fact that its display is in only 720p. It's pretty impressive that this phone can shoot.1080P, video and not only the rear camera, but also the front now. Another con for this phone is that it has no water or dust resistance which, if you're in an environment where you are exposed to lots of dust or if it rains a lot or something like that, then this might be a bit of a drawback for you. Of course, there are cases that can fix this, but if you're coming from a phone that does have water or dust resistance and considering upgrading, then this definitely is a con to think about these days.

More and more manufacturers are getting rid of the headphone jacks for their phones, and luckily this phone still does have the three and a half millimeter headphone jack, and that is really nice to see. Of course, even though Bluetooth headphones speakers and other types of things are really popular, it's nice to have the option to be able to use an old-fashioned pair of three and a half millimeter headphones. If you want to now, the final con for this phone is that it has no wireless charging. Now this is a little nitpick, because wireless charging is typically a feature- that's mostly used in flagship phones, but at the same time it would be nice to have it in a phone like this now. The reason I really like to see wireless charging in a device is because, in the situation that the charging port gets messed up, for any reason, it's nice to know that you can still charge your phone and use it for a little while using a wireless charger.

I think that in that situation it is really useful, and it's definitely a feature that I would like to see implemented in more entry-level and mid-range phones in the future. But I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did be sure to leave a thumbs up and subscribe, and I will see you in the next one.
