How's it going YouTube sick, Eric back again with another video, and today we're just going to be doing a side-by-side comparison between the Samsung Galaxy s20 FB and the lg velvet 5g T-Mobile variant, we're just going to be going over some specs and uh, just showing you guys the differences between the two down into it. These are really great devices around the same price. The velvet you could get on T-Mobile for about, I believe it's uh 588. While the Samsung s20 fan edition, you could get anywhere between 550 all the way up to 699. For me, I got this for free just by adding a line on T-Mobile and all you have to do is pay for that line, which is 20 bucks a month, and they give you a credit for the device. So you get a lot of good deals on the Fe edition.
You can probably find some good deals on the lg velvet as well, so we're going to jump down into it and get into some specs. Let's go ahead and wipe some of these off since they're a little dirty, and we're going to go ahead and jump down into it. So let's unlock both of these, so both are really, really excellent. Looking devices uh big devices, the lg, is going to come in a little taller and a little bigger than the Samsung Galaxy s20 fan edition. So going on the specs we're going to go ahead and start with the lg.
You get a 6.8 inch, uh PLE display. It's got a regular 60 hertz refresh rate, but it is a really, really nice display 1080 by 2460 uh 395 pixels per inch. You do get an always on display as well as you can see right there very customizable, always on display on the velvet. Let's go play, you get a bunch of different types of clocks. You could do on here, which is really, really nice on the velvet really customizable, color wise.
You can choose anything on. There really, really excellent features for that, always on display on the lg velvet. It's got an 88.6 percent screen to body ratio. So really, really nice beautiful display. Actually, on the lg velvet going on over to the Samsung s20 fan edition, you get a 6.5 inch super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1080 by 2400, and you get 407 pixels per inch, and you do get an always on display on here as well. As you can see right there always on display, you do get a bunch of different options as well.
For your always on display. You could change the clock style on here, and you got a bunch of different types of clocks, not as much as lg gives you, but you can download some more using the good, lock app if you wanted to, and you could also change the colors on here or add your own picture, just like you can on the lg velvet uh. The huge thing about the Samsung is that it does have a hertz refresh rate, so that is definitely a plus over here uh. As far as the better panel goes, maybe that might go to the lg just because uh it might look a little better, but we'll go ahead and play some a little of footage for you guys that way, you guys can check out the differences and hear the differences in the sound as well. So let's go ahead and start out with the lg velvet see a really nice big display.
You do get a bigger display on the velvet than you do on the Samsung, so yeah really nice displays. You probably get a better panel on the lg velvet than you do on the Samsung just because the uh, the colors look a little better on the velvet, but the Samsung does give you that 120 hertz refresh rate as far as size goes on the lg velvet you do get. The entire phone is 6.58 inches tall, 2.92, inches wide and.31 thick. So it is a very, very tall slim device. It comes in at about 6.35 ounces does have ip68 water and dust resistance and your elk mill soda 10g drop resistant, which is a military grade ruggedness. I guess you could do get an aluminum frame and a glass back gorilla glass.
I believe it's four, if I'm not mistaken, on the front and on the back so really, really excellent. Build quality probably have to give that to the lg as well over here on the Samsung. It comes in at 6.29, inches tall and uh 2.93 inches wide 0.33 inches thick, so it is a little smaller and a little thicker on the Samsung. You do get aluminum frame both of these have metal frames, which is nice and makes them feel premium. But you do get a plastic bag on the Samsung Fe.
You do get gorilla glass 3 on the front, so it is a little older, gorilla glass, but it is a little more uh scratch resistant, but not as it's a little prone towards drop and cracking than the newer gorilla glass. The weight comes in at about 6.70 ounces, so really, really excellent. Build on both of these probably have to give the wind to the lg just because it has that glass back and more premium design and feel to it. It just feels like a thousand dollar phone uh going. You get android 10 on both of these on the velvet you get lg you get uh, lg, ux9 and processor.
You do get a media attack, density 1000c, so not a snapdragon chipset over here on the velvet uh. Furthermore, you have the Mali g57 GPU, six gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of expandable storage via micros card on the velvet. So that is really, really nice. Excellent, specs uh, not a snapdragon over here, but uh, uh. It is it's! Okay! I've never really used a MediaTek processor.
So as far as day-to-day you should usage uh, it's been all right on the velvet going on over to the Samsung, you get a snapdragon 865 processors, uh they're, both 5g, I forgot to mention you- do get android 10 on both of them. You have Samsung's one UI 2.5 over here on the Samsung, so really up-to-date software with the promise of one UI 3.0 android uh, you get the snapdragon 865 5g, arena, 650, GPU, six gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of expandable storage via micro SD card. So both of these have the same. Specs, as far as ram and storage goes and the options for storage on the Samsung, you get UFS 3.1 storage on the lg. You get UFS 2.1, so a little of a downgrade on the lg as far as the storage goes, but both of them are really, really nice. You can expand the storage which is good on both of these no issues with running out of storage or anything like that as far as performance goes probably have to give that city s the s20 fan edition, just because it has that flagship processor in there and this phone is kind of weird just because uh it's a mid-range phone, but it's a flagship, spec phone, which is kind of confusing for some people like a mid-range phone, but it has everything that the flagships have so really.
Nice lg velvet definitely a mid-range phone, but it looks like a flagship phone, so kind of the opposite right there. On both of these going on over to the camera side on the lg velvet, you do get a triple camera setup on the back and uh. The main sensor is going to be your 48 megapixel um sensor right here with an aperture of f 1.8, see if I get this to zoom in a little, aperture of f 1.8, and then you do get an 8 megapixel ultra-wide, with an aperture, f 2.2 and a 5 megapixel um depth sensor with an aperture of 2.4 and the front facing camera is going to be a 16 megapixel camera with an aperture of f 1.9, and you do get that notch up here at the top. For that you can record up to 4k 30 frames per second on the front and on the back of these two cameras, so really, really nice that um, you can record up to 4k, but it's only up to 30 frames per second, but still. Nonetheless, you do get really, really nice pictures on here, and it does take pretty good pictures, especially during the day no issues there.
Video is pretty good as well nighttime. It tends to fall apart a little in the video side and on the picture side, but you do get a lot of different options for pictures and video and everything so really, really solid, capable phone uh camera at that, but the Samsung over here. On the other hand, you do get a triple camera setup on the back as well: uh 12, megapixel uh main sensor with an aperture of f 1.8. You get a 12 megapixel ultra-wide, with an aperture of f 2.2 and then an 8 megapixel telephoto with an aperture of f 2.1. Your selfie camera is going to be a 32 megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f 2.0. So you do get a little better specs over here on the Samsung.
As far as cameras go, the main sensor is a little lower 12 megapixels compared to 48. But, as we all know, pixels aren't really everything you could have a lower megapixel have great software and get better images than having a huge. You know camera sensor with a lot of megapixels, but still perfect cameras. Uh, the win over here probably goes to the Samsung. You can record 4k 60 on the front and on the back, so that is definitely a plus right there and photos come out really, really nice and video comes out really, really nice on the Samsung Galaxy s20 fan edition, and you do have those more options for the telephoto for zooming in and for wide angle as well.
So really, really nice features um both of these for wide angle and zooming in and video and pictures etc so might have to give the win to the Samsung Galaxy s20 fan going on over to the audio and the sound. Both of these have stereo speakers, as you heard earlier in my little sample, the Samsung does offer adobe Atmos on here, while the lg offers lg's 3d sound engine, which is also really, really nice feature on lg, but I do prefer adobe in some instances you do have movie music and voice while over here on the lg you get auto cinema, music and voice, but both of these sound really, really good. I think these speakers on the Fe sound a little better than the ones on the lg velvet uh. The velvet does come with a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on here, so that is definitely a win for the velvet, but as far as speaker, quality goes might have to give that to the Samsung Fe. You do not get a headphone jack whatsoever on the Samsung, which is definitely a bummer no DAC on the lg, as mentioned uh in previous videos.
So it's just only the 3d sound engine on the lg, so that is another bummer which they would include the hi-fi DAC on there battery size goes on the lg velvet. You get a 4 000 William hour battery 25 watt, five fast charging and wireless charging on here. So really, really nice. You do get a lot of uh perks on here with the wireless and the 25 watt fast charging on the Samsung. You get a William hour battery same 25 watt, fast charging, 15 watt wireless charging and 4.5 watt reverse wireless charging, so you can charge other devices on the back of the Samsung, so really, really nice. I probably have to give the battery to Samsung just for having that bigger battery and uh better battery life than the lg velvet has and plus you can have that option to wirelessly charge.
You know earbuds or another smartwatch or another phone on the back with that 4.5 watt charging, and it's going to take a little longer. So I wouldn't recommend charging an actual device or a phone on the back of the Samsung FB. As far as features go uh the velvet offers Bluetooth, 5.1, uh, 5g, of course, sub 6 uh. It does have an in display fingerprint sensor. Both of them do so really, really nice fast in display fingerprint sensors on both of them.
Of course, I have mine unlocked, but um. Let's see if I could get this on so yeah. They both offer in-display optical fingerprint sensors. As far as speed goes they're, both about the same so, let's see which one is faster, so yeah the Samsung is definitely a little quicker, but they're both optical and display fingerprint sensors. The Samsung has to win over here with the uh 120 hertz uh refresh rate.
Definitely a lot nicer to uh, scroll and watch movies and everything on here. It's definitely a huge difference, rather than this regular 60 hertz on the lg velvet, Bluetooth 5.1 on the velvet Bluetooth 5.0 on the Samsung. So you do get a little higher specs on the velvet. Better cameras on the Samsung as supposed to the velvet development has decent cameras. They are still solid, but the FB definitely a solid camera performer over.
Here you do get a better processor and more powerful device on the Fe than you do on the velvet. The velvet has the mid-range specs, while the Samsung has the flagship specs. But, as we all know today, mid-range and flagships are starting to come together and be almost the same, but I definitely prefer the performance on the Samsung Galaxy SFE uh. As far as speakers go like I said earlier, I think the Samsung sounds a little better than the lg. That's just my opinion.
They both offer micro SD card expansion up here at the top, so that is definitely a plus um. As far as colors go, the lg does come in pink white, which is this variant right here. Keep in mind, this is the T-Mobile variant, and it does have an aurora gray as well, so two different colors on the lg velvet, if you're to order it from somewhere else, you could probably get a bunch of more different colors. The Samsung does have more color options, while on Samsung. That is, but this is a to variant.
T-Mobile comes in cloud mint, which is this one cloud lavender and cloud navy. There is also a cloud white cloud red and a cloud orange on the Samsung, but T-Mobile just has the first three on there, but two really, really beautiful devices. Uh build quality, like I said, goes to the lg just because it looks better, and it feels better, and it's got more premium build than the Samsung does, but as far as performance goes, Samsung definitely wins on that, just because it has that more powerful uh processor on there, but going on over to a quick comparison, as you see the back, you do have triple camera setups on both. I do prefer the lg's look a little better over it in the Samsung, the bottom you get some branding with Samsung and lg on the right hand, side on the Samsung. You do get your volume rockers and your power button on the lg.
You just get the power button. On the left hand, side you get nothing on the Samsung lg. You got your volume rockers and your dedicated Google Assistant button bottom of the devices you get headphone jack, USB type c and bottom firing speaker with the mic on the lg on the Samsung. You just get your mic USB type-c and your bottom firing speaker on both of these devices. Like I said they do offer stereo speakers.
You do have the speaker grille up here at the top, offering that extra sound and that's pretty much it really, really nice specs. The bezels are about the same on both of these uh. You do get that curved display on the lg velvet, which makes it a little more. Bezel-Less Samsung is a flat display, and you do get pretty sizable bezels on the Samsung as well, but a lot of people prefer flat displays over it and curved displays. For me, I really do not care as far as aesthetics go.
I definitely prefer the Samsung's camera punch out as opposed to the lg's notch, just because it's a lot smaller, and it's less intrusive. So really, really nice they're really, really excellent devices. Excellent software- I do prefer one UI over lg's ux9 or whatever it's called. It's just definitely a lot nicer experience on both of these, but with that being said, guys hope you enjoyed the video on the comparison between the Samsung Galaxy s20 fan edition and the lg velvet 5g both of these T-Mobile variant models. So if you like this video give me a thumbs up, if you didn't give me a thumbs down, that is quite all right.
Don't forget to subscribe and click that little notification bell for future notifications on this channel and stay tuned for some more video and comparisons on these two devices, mainly the uh Samsung Fe. Since this is the new kid on the block really, really loving this phone by the way I have been using this uh since I got it, my sim has been in here, and I've been using this phone for quite some time already. I'm definitely loving it a little more than the lg velvet, I'm not going to lie lg velvet looks nice and all but uh yeah, I'm just performance wise and little quirks. Definitely like the Samsung a lot better, so don't forget to subscribe, and I will see you guys in the next one. Peace.
