ROG Phone 5 (Classic) Unboxing & Initial Impressions By Dice & D-Pads

So, we finally have the ROG phone five, but that still begs the question: where is the ROG phone? Four? Hey all Zelda Steve here and once again I have another unboxing for you and this time it's the ROG phone five. So this is the fourth iteration of the republic of gamer's gaming phone. We don't know where the ROG phone 4 went, but yeah. So here we go. What we have here is the classic variant of the phone, so this is not the pro or the ultimate, and also this is the most affordable variant that we have in the Philippines. So this is priced at 39 995.

For that price, you will be getting the Qualcomm snapdragon 888 5g mobile platform, and then you also have eight gigabits of ram 128 gigabytes of storage, a 6.78 full HD display running at 144 hertz with one millisecond response time, so that is PC specs right there for the display of the ROG phone five all right. So we're really happy that the box now I think it came with a more conventional box, a lot different from what we have with the ROG phone three. So you can watch our unboxing of that here. Yes here, so you can watch me struggle with opening that unique packaging for a phone and yeah. So with that we have a separate box for the aero active cooler, as you can see here, so it's no longer included in the main box.

So with all of that out of the way, let's try ahead and strip out the plastic, and let me see if this box will not be eating me alive, just like with all the other unboxing that we have so again. No unboxing have a knife, so hello, unboxing, kitchen knife, I'll just prick open a slot here. Hopefully I don't damage the box and also don't damage my eyes yeah. Okay, there we go, so I've pricked a hole into the plastic. Hopefully I can scratch that open.

I think I made small. Ah, there we go all right, so plastic off, it's not the most majestic unboxing of a plastic, but there we go. You can hear the plastic smell dealer and user, and I will put you down here- plastic right, so box. I think it has an instruction for me here ta-da, so it's opened like this. Yes, there we go wow.

Look at that, so we have some graphics over here on the box. So that's amazing and my hair is falling down right. So for those who dare right, so that's the iconic uh coat of dog. So what we have here, I think, is the arrow case: let's try ahead and pry it open and yep. So this is the arrow keys for the phone, so at least you have protection right out of the box for your Arduino phone five.

There we go, so it's your conventional arrow case. I hope you can see that there you go the arrow keys, I'll put you here, then you have your pamphlets, some warranty stickers and then, of course, some more stickers. So if you would like to stick on some on your arrow case or probably in your laptop or anywhere that you want to, you have some stickers for you over there right and then also you have the ROG type pin for your sim card over here. I'll just leave it there, as I have an extra pin, although it looks really cool, though it has a ROG type, design, probably closed it up in our review, so yeah all of those out of the way we have the phone here itself. Beautiful, actually really I'll put this down we'll do this for the finale but uh yeah, and then what else is in here so to launch the armory crate console there's an instruction here.

I don't know if I can try that open, I probably can, but I won't do it. So here is your power. Brick! Look at that huge charger for the ROG phone five. You have your logos here for ROG and man. That's a brick! I guess you need that for the power containing the ROG phone five, and then you have your type c to type c cable right here, and you have something else here.

I don't know what's this, for. Furthermore, I think it's a cover for your charging port, so I'll check that out later yep, I think yeah. This is the cover, probably for the side mounted type c, it's so small. Hopefully you don't lose this uh if you're going to buy the phone right. So this is how it has its own zip, lock.

The box is nice hefty too, so to launch a primer, blah blah blah armor CRT app. You need to scan something with something carbon qr over there. So you have your American for the phone that will also manage the system for your ROG phone five, and I think that's all that we have here. So thank you ASUS for finally giving me a box that did not eat me. That's an easy, open box right there! Congratulations to me! So I will put you here yeah.

You can see the RNG from this time. Let's open up the top here, Roku there you go all right, so the air case. Let's go check it out. So this one is the aero active, puller 5. I believe, so it's it looks a lot different from your previous aero active coolers.

Yeah. Sorry about that. So my phone ran some someone called me, but uh we're back and yeah. So this is the again my hair fluffing, like that, the aero active cooler. So now you have air, often cooler.

Five has those side buttons here, it's click feels nice and then, of course you have that stand. I believe yep stand here. So it's really more than just a cooler now, so you have a lot more functionality for the wow. That's a hard stand to get out and put in the air active cooler. So maybe that's why it's not included in the box.

It's not like your common, just flab of cool right there, so the aero active cooler we'll try it out later. So I don't know if it's still oh, so it no longer extends like your previous cooler. So it's just like normal slapping it in I guess and now for the grand finale. Let's take a look at the phone itself. Yeah.

Can I just drag it out here? Not destroy the plastic. Yes, there you go not the type of unboxing that you want to see for your plastics. So here we go, so the display is protected by gorilla glass Vitus. I think that's how you call it. I forgot, but it's with the latest gorilla glass, so at least you're covered in protection wise for your display, and then you have an amazing glass back with the ROG logo right there.

So this is a sexy looking phone so for the pro and ultimate you'll have a matrix display here. So you can edit out the graphics that comes out of there, but for the classic. You just have your plain old ROG logo. I don't think it. Hopefully it lights up or something yeah.

So there you have it. Let's see if it has battery okay. This is full HD, so not SAS battery. It's not um circle monster common smartphone display. So maybe we would have wanted.

You know like HD, at least for the specs that's running on this phone. You have the latest Qualcomm again and there you go. That's the ROG showing that they have on all of their devices, including the laptop so yeah wow. So there's music. While you set up the phone so yeah, okay, we'll set you up, and we'll also try if we can go ahead and smack that proactive cooler that we have here.

So nothing else in the box. This is what you get for the bare bones: variant again: the 395 ROG phone classic variant for the Philippines. So I think the other variants, the higher 256 gigs one- will have a bit more freebies for you, including the lunar game pad and something else, and of course your ultimate will have that fan package with all the bling and swing you can get there. I will not copy any of my apps and yeah it is. It is huge, it is a huge screen.

So I have a Samsung Galaxy note 20 ultra here. Maybe I can just show it to you. So we can compare the size of these two, so yeah. You can see it's almost the same, so this one is, of course, the bigger variant for your Samsung phones. So this one really has some screen real estate for you there I will be skipping the Google setup so yeah.

It is slippery in the hands because of the glass back, and I believe it's also a smudged magnet. So, let's probably put in the arrow case. Hopefully I can do this properly so map there you go air case installed. I don't see if you can see that real well because of the shiny back and yeah. So the one that you have here been an extra flap for your type c, which we already have a protection over here.

I don't see if you can see that, but I'll probably take it out, so you guys can see ta-da. So it has a flap already here. Protecting the side mounted type-c for your phone all right. Let's set that up later, let's try how it looks with the aero cooler, so I believe it should be able to handle this. The display I mean the case and the cooler at the same time.

So I believe this is how you do it and what wow? That was quick installation and there you have it. So you have again. These are for your middle fingers, so you have buttons for your middle fingers here and then, of course, you have those air triggers that are still here for your shoulder buttons I'll, be skipping everything, oh wow, all right! So I'm not skipping this one now, so you have some graphics for the comics when you scan with the camera. That's amazing! That's a cool experience! Actually! Oh nice, nice, nice all right! So that's just a little more flair for your setup turn your phone to landscape mode! Okay, so this setup is way too cool. So much experience you can have here you can see here.

There is like a graphic and the phone is vibrating for me right now. So please stop continuously that's loud all right hell of a lot of gimmick for starting up your phone, so cool, I guess and facial recognition, but I won't be doing that right now come on. Let's see, do you love, fairways or sunglasses and sure air in a well-lit area. Wow! Look at that! So I'm just going to show you the screen for the facial recognition. This is amazing, picture all right identification to join as a member of the ROG and earn points.

Okay, there we go create that logo for me become part of dog. Not now just come on, okay. Finally, here, okay, so the system updated, but I will not be doing that yet. So I believe this should be uh. Lighting now should be light there.

Oh, my lord! Okay! Let's attach the cooler again, I don't feel it rolling. So, let's see if we can attach the cooler here, it's still oh there we go so attach the aero active cooler. It's there align the custom port, okay, detach after holding the phone firmly push down the upper hoop away from the phone to attach the fan. Thank you right now, with the air vocabulary, effect the audio quality of phone recordings all right. So how do I know if it's on the aero active cooler is not lighting at the back but yeah? So this is how it looks with the cooler and with the case- and that is all I think I've been rambling for far too long- the ROG phone five.

So let's try the stand here: okay, taxa right! So there you have it the ROG phone 5 classic. We will be reviewing this phone in the coming days and weeks. Hopefully we will release the review a little quicker than that. We will be testing everything that this phone can offer. Of course, I'm really excited to check out those extra shoulder buttons.
