Friends this is the Redmi Note 10T 5G. It’s the 1st 5G phone from Redmi. We’ll do its unboxing & first impressions. Also, we’re going to do something interesting with it. There’s ‘India’s No.1 smartphone brand & 5G ready high performance 7Nm processor written. There’s a sim card tool, documentations, a TPU case, it comes with 22.5W charger but the phone supports 18W charging & a USB Type C cable. Let’s keep everything aside & take a look at the phone. Design - You get the Redmi branding, it looks like an understated design with Redmi 5G written below. It’s a polycarbonate back panel that looks like glass.

Let’s put on the case. It’s a snugly fit & bumps up for safety during a face down fall. Let's drop it. Oh! No, absolutely nothing. The scratch guard comes applied on the phone, let’s remove it.

There’s usually a ‘tick’ sound, not this time. In Hand Feel - It’s good & seems like a right fit. One-hand use might be a problem because of the big screen. Overall it’s good & not much heavy, I think it’s about 185g. Let’s find out! I’m wrong, it’s 191g! But it has a good in hand feel.

Ports & Buttons - Below, there’s a speaker grill, a USB Type C port & a microphone. Above, you get a 3.5mm jack along with an IR Blaster & a noise cancelling microphone. On the right, there's a volume rocker(up-down) & a power button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The sim card tray has a hybrid sim slot. Display - It has a center punch hole, a 6.5” FHD+ IPS LCD screen with 90Hz adaptive sync fast refresh rate. Which means it adapts to your usage & it also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Specifications - It’s the 1st Redmi 5G phone with Dimensity 700 SoC which is a capable 5G chip in the budget segment. Gives a good performance & is based on the 7Nm technology. It comes in 2 different variants. There's a 4+64GB variant & 6+128GB variant. It has LPDDR4X RAM type & UFS 2.2 storage type. In terms of specifications, it’s very similar to POCO M3 Pro 5G.

It’s got a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. You get the 22.5W adapter but it supports 18W. The 5000mAh battery is really good & will last throughout the day with high to moderate use. OS UI - It has MIUI 12 that’s based on Android 11 with the latest security patch. You get some preinstalled apps that can be uninstalled & there’s an interesting feature.

It supports multiple virtual assistants. We’ll play with it, but before that let’s look at the camera. It has a triple camera setup on the rear, with 48MP as primary sensor. So it’s a 48MP+2MP+2MP setup. The centre punch hole has an 8MP selfie sensor.

We haven’t used it much but here are some pictures! The photos are good under normal conditions. Do let us know in the comments what you think about the pictures. Performance - The Dimensity 700 is a good processor & you can play games on Medium-High settings. You’ll have fun during long gaming sessions as it’s a power efficient processor. So the battery will last longer even with long gaming sessions.

Having UFS 2.2, the app loading time/saving files is fast & quick! On paper, the AnTuTu score shows above 2.9L. It’s time to have some fun, it supports Google Assistant as well as Alexa. And with Alexa, it has some good skills, which I’ll show you now. Let’s talk to Alexa. “Alexa, play my favourite song!” Alexa is hands free, you don’t have to press any buttons, just say “Alexa” & she responds! That’s why I said, there’s going to be some fun element in this unboxing.

“Alexa, I want to shop on Amazon for a camera” You can shop & pay bills! “Alexa, I want to pay my electricity bill” If you connect it with Amazon Pay, then you can pay bills with just a voice command. Alexa is seriously improving a lot & I like that. It works really well when the integration is so good. With Alexa integration, you can play your favourite songs by just saying, “Play my favourite music” You can even ask for weather forecasts! “Alexa, what’s the weather?” You can even tell Alexa to play your audio books. “Alexa, play audio book!” For calling a contact : Alexa, please call (contact name) & she will make a call.

Sensors - You get all sensors, there’s a side mounted physical fingerprint sensor that works well. You get face unlock too that works quite well. Multimedia - The IPS LCD screen shows decent colours & it has decent viewing angles. And the down firing mono speakers are loud & decent. So the overall multimedia experience is decent.

It has a 360 degree light sensor which means the brightness adapts to the surroundings. Features - It has Widevine L1 support for HD streaming, with Camera2api support for GCam port. It has FM Radio but there’s no notification light. Connectivity - It has 5G(5 band support), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi Calling, Dual band WiFi & Bluetooth 5.1. So the 1st 5G phone from Redmi is good! The Alexa integration, specifications like 5G, Dimensity 700, 18W fast charging, good battery size & overall it’s a decent midranger.
