Redmi K40 Pro VS realme GT Full Comparison: Who WON?

Hey what’s up? Sami here. Today we are going to compare so far in 2021 two best budget Snapdragon 888 phones: the Redmi K40 Pro and the realme GT. In this video we’ll include comparison of the design, performance, battery Life and camera. Of course, the last part is my purchase recommendation. Making videos is not easy, please show some support for me by hitting that subscribe button, turning on the notification bell, and giving this video a thumbs up. Now move to the phones.

On the design wise, the realme is slightly smaller and lighter than the K40 Pro. Both phones sport AMOLED display, however, the bottom bezel on the Redmi looks narrower. As for the Redmi K40 Pro, it adopts a center hole-punch design while the realme GT features a top left hole-punch design. The former boasts HDR10+ and 1,300 nits peak brightness along with a perfect A+ score from Display Mate. From our experience, the K40 Pro does look brighter under the direct sunlight.

Needless to say the K40 pro looks better for narrower bezel, smaller punch hole and brighter display. As for the back panel, the realme is in glossy glass finish, it feels smooth but easy to gather smudges or fingerprints. For the redmi k40 pro, as I've said in my previous video, I personally really like the AG glass panel and the delicate sandblasting process, it feels like touching my ex-girlfriend’s breast. I especially the Dreamland color. The color varies when you change the angle, it looks like in a dreamland, isn’t it? For others, the realme GT holds a 3.5mm headphone jack and in-display fingerprint scanner while for the K40 Pro houses a side mounted fingerprint scanner. Both phones adopt flagship chipset Snapdragon 888 + LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 golden combination specs. But the final performance on each phone varies.

First let’s check out the Antutu Bench mark, the Redmi K40 Pro score around 735k and the realme GT get 758k, they stay almost the same. While in AndroBench test, the realme GT outperforms the K40 Pro in nearly every way. The Random Write speed even surpasses 50% more. We also tested many other items like the Sling Shot Extreme and GFXBench, the realme GT won all of them. The Redmi even crashed in the GFXBench test due to overheat issue.

Anyway let’s move to the gaming performance. We mainly tested the PUBG and Genshin Impact game. In these two games we set all to the highest frame rate and resolution. Here are the results. Both phones handle them decently.

But from PUBG the realme GT is slightly stable and better. Now thermals, after about one hour of game playing, here is the temperature on two phones. The highest temperature on the front and back panel of the realme GT are 39.2 and 38.4 degree Celsius respectively. While for the K40 Pro are 42.5 and 42.6 degree Celsius. Again, realme GT is better.

But definitely they feel not so hot or something that you can’t bear with. For the Genshin Impact game, the average FPS on both phones seem fluctuate a lot. But you gotta know the Genshin Impact is a demanding game and requires more computing power from phones. The average FPS they are almost the same, but again, the realme GT is more stable during the whole gaming time as we can see from the data. Of course, we don’t only look into data but also take other elements into consideration when review phones’ gaming experience.

Both phones can activate game assistant very easily. But the realme GT is more versatile. Like the floating countdown bubble and shortcuts for gaming. There is a floating message notification that neither disrupt your game playing nor miss your important message that your annoying girlfriend might try to ask where the hell you are. Battery Life For battery specs, the Redmi K40 Pro is 4520 mAh with 33W wired fast charging while 4500mah with 65W fast charging for the realme GT.

Both look promising in 2021 and handle your daily tasks without any issues. But overall who has better battery performance? From our previous game test 2:25. The Realme GT consumes 17% in one hour of game playing while the Redmi K40 Pro consumes 20%. That means under the same testing environment, the realme GT has longer battery life even though the K40 Pro has a slightly larger battery capacity. But what we should really consider is the fast-charging capability.

We charge both phones from 1% to 100%, the realme GT takes 33minutes, while the K40 Pro takes 51 minutes. From curves we can see in the first 5 minutes we top up the realme GT 27% while only 15% for the K40 Pro. The realme GT almost doubled the speed due to its 65w fast charging capability. Now to the camera performance. The Redmi K40 Pro on the rear packs a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro snapper.

For the realme GT it houses the same but a 2-megapixel macro. We took some day and night photos, let me know which one is your favorite. realme, Redmi, or our beautiful model? For the selfie camera, the realme GT sports a 16MP wide angle lens while the Redmi offers a 20MP wide angle snapper. So to conclude, I gotta say both phones are out of this world, they are super good value phones and don’t have really that much of a big difference. If you are pursuing the ultimate performance of a phone and are into game playing and want a good battery life that’s also costs you less then go for the realme GT, you won’t regret it.

As for the same RAM and ROM the realme GT is about $30 cheaper yet with overall better gaming and battery performance. But if you want a more beautiful phone that’s having better display and operating system and you happened to bevc a Mi fan that owns lots Xiaomi products, then go for the Redmi K40 Pro, it’s not bad at all. That’s the video, thanks for watching. I hope it has helped you in some way, if you have any questions please let me know down in the comment section. Don’t forget to subscribe!
