Hello everyone, my name, is man Rashid you're watching Mr phone, and this is the direct camera comparison between the Realme 8 pro and the Redmi Note 10 pro max uh right now. I'm recording 1080p 30fps samples using the front camera on both the devices and, as you can see, the realm 8 pro clearly has a wider field of view. The Redmi Note 10 pro max and not so much, and I also thought this is a good way to test out the audio performance as well. So that's why I thought to do the intro using the front facing cameras on both the phone. Otherwise, let me know what you think about the overall quality and, of course, I'll, be diving into a lot of other details regarding the camera in this video, so make sure that you watch until the very end, but before we start, please go ahead and subscribe to the Mr phone YouTube channel if you haven't yet and do hit that bell icon so that you're notified whenever we post a brand-new video with that said, let's get started before we jump and talk about the phone's camera performance. Let's take a look at the specifications.
First, the realm 8 pro features a quad rear camera setup, which comprises a 108 megapixel primary camera, utilizing the Samsung hm2 image sensor. This is coupled with an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle, camera and a couple of 2 megapixel black and white and macro lenses for selfies. There's a 16 megapixel front facing camera. As for the Redmi Note 10 pro max, it also features a quad rear camera setup featuring the same 108 megapixels Samsung hm2 image sensor for the main camera. This is coupled with an 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle, camera a 5, megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor at the front.
There's a 16 megapixel camera for selfies, starting off with this image taken in landscape during broad daylight, shows that both cameras are capable of taking some well detailed and sharp images. No doubt about it. Now I won't call the image taken from the Realme to exhibit a cold color temperature. What I can say is that the photo taken from the Redmi is definitely on the warmer side, and it is upon zooming in that I found that the realm 8 pro takes a balanced approach when it comes to details and textures. On the other hand, I feel the photo taken from the Redmi Note.10 pro max definitely suffers from over sharpening now taking a look at the same scene, but this time captured with the ultra-wide lens, and it is no doubt that the photo taken from the Redmi is much, much better. This time I mean real means photos just an over saturated mess.
Details are softer for that matter. Details are poor when you look at the corner and while the corner details are not anything impressive on the Redmi either it is the overall output that is simply better on the note 10 pro max moving on a while shooting human subjects from the rear camera, I will once again side with the realm 8 pro, since it is pretty evident that the Realme does a better job of exposing my skin as well as, what's around me. On top of that, you can also make out the sun behind me in the photo taken from the real me, which is definitely not the case with the note 10 pro max. So this also shows that the dynamic range and the HDR performance is better on the Realme 8 pro for that matter. I also found the front camera's HDR performance to be better on the realm 8 pro I mean.
Not only does the camera manage to expose my face properly, but you can also look at the curtain behind me, where it is clear that the Realme has done a better job than the Redmi for sure this photo was taken indoors in the full 108 mp mode, and, to be honest, the photo looks good. However, when I look at the same photo taken from the realm 8 pro, and I can't help but notice that the colors look much better in comparison to the note 10 pro max, even when you zoom in on the plant kept at the top, the photo taken from the Redmi looks to be tad over sharpened in comparison to the photo taken from the real me. Even for this photo taken in full 108 mp resolution shows that both cameras take detailed shots. It is just which company's color science. Do you prefer for me? I, like the Realme 8 pros, photo here, because it looks closer to the source in terms of color, while the photo taken from the red me exhibits a cool color temperature.
But, most importantly, will you even care to take photos in full, 108, mp mode? Let me know in the comments okay, so this photo taken from the macro lenses on both cameras, and it is a no-brainer that the Redmi clearly dominates the real me. I mean there is no competition without a doubt. The 5 megapixel sensor on the note 10 pro max, is superior to the 2 megapixel sensor on the realm 8 pro by the way. This is the bet sheet that I just showed you guys in the previous photo taken from the macro lens coming over to this photo taken inside a mall, and I think this is a close one. But if I have to choose a one here, I will go with the photo taken from the Redmi, simply because it is slightly more detailed and the phone also does a better job in dealing with the butterfly shaped green, LED lights.
That said, real music is also as good, and you can't go wrong with either of them in terms of portrait mode shots taken from the rear camera. Once again, both phones do a very good job, but I would give the slight edge to the Redmi Note 10 pro max here since the blur around the subject looks more natural to me and details also for that matter are better on the note 10 pro max. Even in this photo, the output from the Redmi looks better and if you zoom in closer to my face, you can see the exact difference in details coming over to this photo taken at night, and to be honest, if I remove the watermark here, it will be very difficult to tell them apart. I mean pretty similar results and both phones actually do a good job in terms of colors details and sharpness. However, I will give the point to the realm 8 pro, since it definitely does a better job when it comes to clicking human subject, I mean not only does my face look dull in the photo taken from the Redmi, but upon zooming in you can just see how aggressively Redmi Note 10 pro max is trying to over sharpen and the end result isn't looking good in terms of selfies.
I will go with the photos taken from the realm 8 pro simply because skin tones and textures look much better on the Realme in comparison to the Redmi Note 10 pro max for that matter. This selfie taken at night looks so good on the Realme and, on the other hand, if you look at the photo taken from the note 10 pro max, you can't ignore the aggressive over sharpening the camera software has done. Xiaomi definitely needs to look into this in terms of video recording. Now both phones do a good job here, while dealing with colors and exposure, but the autofocus on the real v8 pro is very finicky. Now both cameras can shoot 4k videos at up to 30 fps and both of them don't have any sort of stabilization which can result in jerky footage.
However, the Redmi does a better job since the video output exhibits natural colors in comparison to the over saturated tones from the realm by the way, color reproduction looks way improved on the Realme when you shoot at 1080p 30fps and electronic image. Stabilization also kicks in for both phones. But then again it is the overall color reproduction stabilization and details that make the Redmi Note 10 pro max a better pick here. Okay guys, so my final thoughts would be that between the two, if you're, looking for better performance from the main rear camera and the selfie camera, I would say: go for the Realme 8 pro. That said, the main camera on the Redmi Note 10 pro max, is not bad either.
Instead, it is simply the Realme 8 pro that just does a better job in comparison. However, if you're looking for a more consistent and balanced overall performance, that is, you also use the ultra-wide angle camera or for that matter the macro lens is found on these phones. I would suggest: go for the Redmi Note 10 pro max, because the secondary lenses on the realm 8 pro are nothing to write home about so guys. That was the camera comparison between the Realme 8 pro and the Redmi Note 10 pro max. Let me know in the comments so which phone's camera do, you think was the better one, as always hit the like button.
