Razer Phone Rugged Case vs Light Case Unboxing Comparison & Review!

And welcome to the latest video um I'm, making this video because I have just received in the post. My two protective cases for the razor phone I've had the razor phone here for about a week now, and I was eager to get a cover for it before I drop it, so I ordered the two that were available on the website, and that is the rugged case and the light case. This is the rugged case. You can see It's got like a silver logo, and this is the light case, and you can see it's got a black logo initial impressions are. This is how it's come from razor ordered it from this store. It's not really how I would expect it's pretty basic packaging I think by the looks of it.

But then again it is just a phone case, and it is just their first phone case, so they're packaged in this really cheap polished, like plastic, you know- covers really cheap poly, mailer bag type things clear, poly bags, I, suppose that's how you call them and looking at the front, the cases are identical like the packaging is identical. It just says we just says protective case for razor phone. That's all it says. The only difference like I said, is the silver logo on the rugged and the black logo. In the light case, if you turn it over, you can see these are made in China, and it gives you the basics of each case, but the the funny thing is, even though one's a protective case, so everyone's a light case, one's a rugged case.

The info on the back is identical on the packaging they're, both just described like kinda, like a know, offer protection a secure, fit enhanced grip, and they're lightweight, so I'll be interesting to see what the difference is, so I'm, just going to open these up I wanted to make sure I get both of I got both of them. Just for that reason, because to make sure that I chose one that I liked. Okay, there's a sticker at the bottom, which has a little arrow look a little perforation sticker. So that is what I need to tear to open the bottom of the packaging. So this is the light case.

Just pull that out right, so nothing else in there. It comes on a bit of card which says: welcome to the cult of razor and on the back, it's got like a basic bit of card with the phone outline. The case itself is Wow. Okay. The case itself is like stuck to this foam board, which is stuck to the card.

That's a pretty cool feature, and here is the case. So this is the like case now. Looking at it, it's actually got a little of plastic here which peels off- and you can see this case- is not um opaque. It's its kind of, as is the way of translucent I'm, not sure I, think it's translucent. So it's a fairly bendy plastic.

So obviously, when that's attached to the phone that will hopefully obviously that'll give it rigidity, but it's quite a bendy bit of plastic there, so that could easily snap, and then you've got the logo there. So if I put my phone into this I think it just slides in from the top actually or do they just make sure I think it just I suppose just clips in like so you caught it's actually quite nice because it makes the phone definitely more drippy. That's a definite I'm, much more comfortable holding the phone in one hand with a case, then without a case so pretty happy with. Actually it doesn't offer any protection to the topside, but I think that's because there's a mic there or something and obviously there's not a lot of space and again there's no protection for the bottom bezel either, where the USB connector is you've got a little gap there for your fingerprint scanning power, and you've got a little gap there for your buttons there and overall yeah I think that's a decent enough case, I'm interested to see what the difference is between that and the and the protective case. So here's the protective case.

Again. It's got the same perforated sticker along the bottom, so I'm just going to peel that off and then that will allow me to open the packaging from the bottom case, pulls out, and again it's attached to a foam block and if it's just okay, a bit nicer. Actually, this looks a bit nicer. First thing: first, it's not translucent, it is opaque. This is as it is, and it's got the same silver logo see on here.

You lose the logo, it's just a black logo. So if you use the light case, it covers up the actual logo, obviously, on the phone itself just see how easy that is, ?, it's actually quite easy to take off, but that hides the logo and the logo are obviously got a silver background, but a silver outline on the phone. So you lose that that might not be an issue for a lot of people, but I like that kind of logo, I, actually really like the silver outline on it. So having that case on it, it kills it. So, even though this case is translucent, it certainly doesn't show through that.

You know on the logo when the case when the light case is on the phone, whereas with the rugged case with the rugged case, because it's completely opaque they've put a silver logo. So obviously you won't get to see the actual logo on the phone, but you get the same effect on the back of the phone, so I like that. For starters also there's added protection because the top of this case is covered. So let me just do like a comparison of the cases themselves without the phone in them just to clarify it. So here's the light case and yeah.

That's it yeah, there's the light case there- and here is the rugged case. So immediately the first big difference you can see. The rugged case has protection for the top bezel, with a little hole for the speaker or like this way. There yeah I think all the mic or whatever is that hole is there for and on the inside as well. The big difference is you see.

This has got this green lining, which has for gamers by gamers embossed into it, which is quite nice, but this is actually like a soft, that's soft and that's a nice kind of felt e-type material. So it's not padded, but it's like a soft material to touch immediately. I'm liking the rugged case, a lot more so there's my phone. It's got a little fingerprint on it, so you see the same logos, and I'm. Just going to put this in here.

I actually think. Definitely yeah I like that much better I like that. Much better feels perfect in the hand as well I don't know if it's got a bit more weight to it, but I do like. It obviously adds a little more bulk to the phone as well, because and it's already a blocky phone, it's quite square in its sizing, but yeah, that's um. Definitely the one I like it's still got no protection along the bottom bezel, which is a bit weird, but I guess they couldn't do it for whatever reason, and again you've got access to the finger and the power up volume down, but I do like the fact.

That's covered nice space for the camera and quite important. For me. I know it sounds silly, but it's quite important that it has got the silver outline logo. So it's replicating the logo. That's on the phone on the back of the phone case.

So out of the two cases I mean there is obviously a price difference that one is about $19.99, that one's like twenty-nine or something so yeah. Obviously it's a bit more, but when the phone cost as much as it doesn't, you're going to have it for like a couple of years. Absolutely it's worthwhile making sure you're protected as good as you can. I still don't think this kind of do a great deal, obviously if it smashes and things but definitely makes it more drippy to hold, so I'm pretty pleased with that one. So that was my comparison of the two cases, so you can see the light and the rugged case personally I'm going to be saying.

For me, the rugged case is definitely the better case and going to get an official case. Get the rugged. I'll keep this obviously as a backup in case this gets cracked or anything, but I, don't think it will I think it's pretty solid, which is really cool. Okay, guys, thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed the video if you found it useful, give it a thumbs up, leave a comment, a comment in the comment section, and I'll see you guys in the next video thanks.
