PREVIEW | Nokia 5.4 smartphone

You are watching news: bytes Philippines, don't forget to subscribe to our channel in a world where more and more smartphone makers are offering a plethora of devices in the budget and mid-range segments. If you are looking for a phone without the deep pockets required for flagships, you are either getting a crappy overall phone that manages to somehow let you play modern gaming titles or a well-balanced phone that you will be glancing over since it does not have a standout feature. It is probably competitively priced, but it sure will have a boring name. Let us all just hope that the trend of not including a charger started by the company, who runs sweatshops where miners in China work at will not happen to mid-range in entry-level smartphones. Sadly, we all know it is coming for us as well. Samsung ate their own words and even Xiaomi is joining in this pretentious bandwagon of being eco-friendly, a scheme that actually produces more boxes for individual accessories.

I mean come on, were you ever buying a phone and complained why these companies included a charger that you definitely need? It just reinforces a future where they expect consumers to replace their phones more frequently. But, of course, the giant corporations are the first in line to challenge your passion for being eco-friendly, even though they are the leading cause of the environmental dilemma in the first place, do you want to know how genuine eco-friendly smartphone makers actually help the environment? Take a look at the model that HMD global is promising its customers. Each release comes with a guaranteed three years. Yes, you heard that right, three years of security updates, it seems like HMD global actually wants you to use the phone, not just for a couple of months, unlike the culture, other players are emphasizing where they just want you to toss out your outdated six-month-old phone for a flashier new one with minimal improvements. The problem of having too many chargers is not really a pervasive issue.

It only affects those who can afford those whose phones are used for quite some time. A few years even actually need these chargers and which market is the largest right now, with the new Nokia 5.4 HMD global wants to hit a very specific market. The side hustle community, at first glance, this target seems odd, since gaming technology is all the rage right now, but given the circumstances brought by the pandemic, it actually enters an opportune time. This device is marketed towards designers, writer, photographers and disc jockeys, while official pricing and availability are still yet to be announced. Here are the specs for the Nokia 5.4. We cannot really judge how this phone fares with its competition, since there is still no official price.

However, it would be a steal to secure a phone whose company says is built to last. Innovation is cool and all, but reliability gives you more bang for your buck. In any case, we will soon see how Nokia 5.4 will fare when it hits the shelf soon. Let us know what you think in the comments below until the next one. Thank you for watching.
