Asus Zenfone 8 Review - Changed my Mind!

Five spent a couple of weeks with the Before 8 as my primary ?, so what's the deal with this one? Is, this is a phone worth picking, up? What, are the pros and cons? Let's talk about all that today. ?, hey guys ash here from c4etech, and welcome to my full review of the ASUS before 8 So this year, ASUS launched 2 flagship engines in the 8 and 8 flip and frankly, it was a little confusing, but we've spoken about that. A lot in the unboxing ?, so here, I'm, just gonna talk about the smaller phone ?, the before 8, and that's actually the killer feature here, The reason why I feel this phone is amazing: ?, the smaller form factor. ,. These days, phones are becoming pretty huge and unwieldy. ? personally, if I wanted a large screen, I'd switch to a PC or even a tablet and phones, I want my phones to be easy to carry around, easy to hold up and talk, easy to use single-handed Now.

That means I should have loved the iPhone 12 mini, I thought I would but turns out. It was a little too small for practical use hitting some keys now and then, With these stubby fingers ?, it was a pain Asus, with the before 8 have managed to walk the fine line between keeping it small and keeping it practical Now. I spent all of my time with the before 8 having the case on. This hard case. BTW is included in the box and even with the case on the before 8 felt pretty light in hand ? sleek ?, given the display is 5.9 inches, even hitting the opposite top corner single-handed wasn't an issue While. We are here, Let me take a moment to point out why I had to use the before 8 with the case on.

We have gorilla glass, Vitus to the top, gorilla glass 3 to the back and a smooth aluminum frame, all around ?, so the grip is well nonexistent -. So using a case with this, one is mandatory. ? the texture to the back with the case improves ergonomics a lot of Fun Fact -. One of the things I was very excited for when I unboxed. This phone was that matte back finish, I was hoping it didn't pick up a gotta fingerprints, but I never got around to handling the phone that way, without a case I'm.

Guessing that's going to be the same with anyone buying this phone Talking about buying the phone, If it's not available in your market yet, and you still want to get your hands on it, U know where to go. ? 28mobile. com is your destination for any phone. You wanna import, right from the z fold, 2, to the mix fold to the before 8 and 8 flip -. They have pretty much any phone.

You could want they ship internationally, are very quick and have awesome support -. So if you do want to get you hands on any phone not available in your market, check out 28mobile. com ? sponsor for this video ? I'll leave a link to them in the description. Below do check em out. If you haven't yet ? Coming back, Other points worth mentioning here: ? we have ip68 water and dust resistance, and stereo speakers ? I love that combo, because.

It lets me listen to music in the shower Talking about music ?, headphone jack check ?, but no micro, SD. So. That's the build and design part -. Let's now jump to display, and this panel is beautiful there's, nothing to complain, about, it's a super AMOLED panel, It's got HDR 10+, support, 120 Hz, so everything you expect, ASUS has provided. It's great for watching videos and whatnot Of course.

You can't talk consumption without talking games, right with the snapdragon 888 chips under the hood, This is the best performance you are going to get out of an android phone. It manages to run the most demanding emulators ?, as well as any other flagship phone out. There games, like Genshin Impact, also managed to run smoothly ?, given the smaller size of this phone, Using this with even a ridiculously sized controller like the Samsung gap, its doable, didn't feel very uncomfortable Rounding off specs, you get 6, 8, 12 or 16 gig ram options coupled with 128 or 256 gigs of storage ?, the RAM is LPDDR5 and the Storage UFS 3.1 -. All this is backed up by a 4000mah battery which lasted me. All day, usually ? I'd consider my usage, moderate and I didn't feel the need to plug in before end of day on any of the days, I used the before 8 -.

If you do need to charge ? the included 30w charger gets you from 0-65 in about 30 minutes and a full charge takes about an hour and a half ? its, not the fastest, but It's still fast enough. Now, It's, not just the hardware. That's nice on this phone, the software too. It's always been a plus for ASUS phones, and it continues to be so with the before 8 ? zen UI is amongst the lightest of user interfaces. It keeps most things stock and there's, no bloatware.

So the stress on resources, ? its, pretty low ? ASUS- has also done well with ram management -. So software, I don't have any complaints at all, well, optimized, light and fast One area, where a lot of us, including yours, truly felt ASUS has compromised on, It was optics, no flip module, We are down to 2 sensors from 3 -. So how did the cameras fare? Were? They bad? Actually, no ? I liked them. ? do I wish there was a telephoto, hell yes, but these 2 were not bad at all. The primary is a 64mp sensor with a f1.8 lens. That's stabilized, the secondary is a 12mp f2.2 without stabilization. Both cameras, as expected, did great outdoors under good light ?, but hey, let's be honest, What camera doesn't do well under good light right, so that was expected.

Unexpected tho, was the fact that the 8k footage was stable, just see, this, I'm walking and the footage is very steady, I wasn't doing anything special just walking casually ? with 8k. Even software zoom ins give you good detail see this here again doesn't replace a telephoto, but it was something I found. Pleasantly surprising. The main test, though, was under low light, Now, just throwing in some pictures here and saying, wow the engines done well ?, that's not going to mean much right. ? what's well without a point of reference.

So I decided to compare the low light performance with one of the best current gen smartphone cameras, ?, the ones on the iPhone 12 Pro and the primary sensor gets close like here. Not zoomed, in, I actually prefer the before 8s colors zoom in, and you can see the iPhones retained better detail. A little, more Again, here's, another example note the details With, the ultra-wide ? surprisingly, ASUS has a huge lead over the iPhone under low light. The pictures came out much better. So the cameras, ? I'd say they are good, but call me greedy, I'd have still loved a flip in this form: factor So conclusion: time Build and Design ? Good to Great, depending on what form factor you like Battery, Life, ?, Good, Performance, ?, Great, Display and Software- Very Good, The, before 8 feels like a solid all round.

Phone. Is this the best in class, the gold standard for flagships? Nope. It's not, it's a very good flagship phone, It's something you should consider but. If you are someone like me with a fondness for smaller form factors. That's when the before 8 comes into its own, it's probably the best small phone around I kept pushing this review, more and more because I knew once I was done with the review, I had to swap my sim to something else and I really didn't wanna -.

That's how much I like this one from a pricing. Perspective We only have the official European pricing at the moment and in Europe it starts at 600 euros, making it slightly less expensive than the OnePlus 9 -. Compared to that phone, I feel the before 8 is a lot more interesting, so I'm pretty happy with the price too So there, you go, my take on the before 8 -. What do you think? Is this? A phone you'd like to get your hands on? Leave a comment down below and with that we get to the end of today's review. Video ? thumbs up, thumbs down, based on what you felt about it,, subscribe and turn on notifications by hitting that bell icon.
