Pixel 4a Unboxing and Camera Test

Let's begin so how's. Everyone grants here welcome back to the channel, and I want to first start out by thanking google and team pixel for sending out the Pixel 4a for me to review now. All thoughts and opinions are gonna, be my own. I wasn't asked to say anything, and I wasn't compensated in any other way so with that out of the way and the Pixel 4a unbox, there's only really one thing left to do. It's camera test time. So let's go hey everyone and so, like most of you know, the 4a is launching here in the US for 349.

That's a pretty compelling price point. I know most of you are probably thinking well, there's other android phones with similar components at a similar price point or even cheaper, but most of those phones aren't available here through us retail channels, and so really. What we have here is the iPhone SE, which isn't even an android phone and the TCL 10 pro phones like the Motorola edge, galaxy a51 and the lg velvet, and so, while some of those r5g they're all going to be a lot more expensive as well you're going to have the pixel 4 and the 5 coming out soon to compete, and those will certainly have a more competitive price point to those phones. But for now you've got the Pixel 4a at 350, and I think it's offering a lot of value here. For that money do and as we continue this camera test of the Pixel 4a.

Let me know what other phones you would like to see this compared up against in a camera comparison, the popular choice seems to be the iPhone SE, there's also the OnePlus word, that's pretty popular, but the word's not coming to the U. S. , but I might consider importing one if there's enough people who, like the video and really want to see that comparison, there's also the logical Pixel 3a since the 4a is the obvious success to that, and maybe the pixel 4. But let me know what phones are you interested in seeing a camera comparison here up against the Pixel 4a all right, so we know most smartphone cameras can perform well in good lighting conditions, but most especially at this price point tend to fall short and low light camera performance. So let's take a look at how the Pixel 4a does in low light for both photos and videos and see if it holds up and performs well, just like its other pixel counterparts up at this much lower and budget friendly price point: hey everyone.

So I apologize if this is not really exciting footage here, but given the current pandemic, I'm not really venturing off too far these days, but for a 350 dollar phone. This is where it usually falls apart for most phones in this price range, if not, all of them is low light per camera performance for both photos and videos, and so hopefully this gives an idea that you can still get great camera performance even in low light, and this footage may not look spectacular, but it is pretty dark and most phones. This would look a lot worse. I think, especially as you start to walk this way more into a more dimly lit situation, usually when there's very little light. Most phones in this price range you're not going to see anything and the video is going to look very grainy and pretty much unusable, but for this price, you're getting the pixels great photo performance, but also great low light performance for not just photos, but also this video here.

So this is pretty dark here, like all. I have been these lights that you see here on the walkway and some light coming off this building, but it looks a lot darker than this. Video would show you, and so maybe you're in a dimly, lit restaurant, and you want to take photos or even video of your friends and family. You want them to not just be usable, but you want them to look as good as possible and so for 350. This phone is probably going to be one of the best, if not the best low light performing cameras here.

Okay, so now that you've seen all the photos and videos for yourself, how do you think the Pixel 4a performed here for me personally, irrespective of the low price? I thought the 4a performed close to, if not on par with my other pixel phone cameras and the still photo photography came out great with that HDR plus and for video recording. I thought the audio was nice and loud, especially for when filming outdoors and the video quality, while not the best. Furthermore, I think it'll still suit most people. Furthermore, I just don't think it's going to be as eye-catching, because pixel tends to lean towards more natural color tones, and so that's not going to be as eye-catching or as really flashy, as maybe some people might want. But again, I think video quality has come a long way.

It's definitely going to be suitable for more than enough people and to me the big thing here is its low light performance for 350 dollars, you're getting low light performance in your cameras like you're, going to see in more of a thousand dollar type of phones, and so for me, that's a huge win, especially at this price category, most phones and in this price category really don't handle low light very well, and that tends to be its weak point, but for the pixel it performs pretty much just like any other pixel. So low light, photography and video come up pretty good, but at night sight really works its magic and does its thing. So I think for 350 low light performance very close to other pixels, and it's definitely still for what you can get here. But anyway, that's just what I think. I really want to hear what you have to think about the Pixel 4a.

Let me know how you think the cameras performed here. Did you order one, you think I'll pick him one up when it releases later this month? Let me know in the comments and let's continue our discussion down there and as always, thanks for watching you.
