Pixel 4a 5G: (3 Months Later) | Almost-Perfect but Underrated Phone? | Long Term Review

Hey guys what's up, this is peter jams. Looking for a phone, that's just right for you, this 2021, but let me first ask this question: what makes a great phone in your opinion, if you ask me it must have an amazing display, great and long battery life best in class camera, most importantly, the budget price, and of course it must be a no lag performance. So does my new Pixel 4a 5g fits in these criteria? Let's find out all right, this is my main phone, the Pixel 4a 5g, I'm using it for about more than two months now I unbox it. In the late december 2020 and inside the box, you can find the phone user manual with the sim ejector tool on the other side, and luckily we still have the charging brick here, unlike the others, you know what I mean. This is 18 watt, USB c fast charger with power delivery. Of course, an USB c to USB c cable.

Then an USB c2 USB an adapter similar package as the pixel 4 a4g. My phone before is also a pixel phone. This is the pixel 2 XL for almost about 3 years now this just fell, and the screen was slightly shattered. So I bought a new phone during the release of the Pixel 4a 5g. Only black color is available, but I like color white for minimalist, look so the solution, the brand skin, but now white color is available for the pixel 4 a5g.

I considered many phones, but what this pixel 4 a5g makes to stand out number one. The gorgeous large display it's modern. Looking with all screen display with no notch, just a small punch hole cutout for the front camera. This is an OLED display, so the colors are vibrant. The black is truly black.

I like the size of this phone, almost the same size as my previous pixel 2 XL, but with the larger screen to body ratio, 6.2 inch display, as opposed to the 6.0, thanks to the very slim bezels very beautiful number. Two, as my hobby is photography. I use my phone primarily as my daily camera, so it's important that its camera is best in class. Still pixel phones are the king on this field, although iPhone 12 and galaxy s21 are not too far off, as opposed to its 4g sibling. Pixel 4 a5g has dual camera at the back, the main camera and the new wide angle, camera pixel line of phones are known for the great camera quality.

Here are the samples for the back camera on the camera UI. There are preset buttons for the zoom here, but you can hold and drag it, so it can change from wide angle to telephoto zoom, but there's no telephoto lens here. So it's just a digital zoom. As for the quality of the wide angle camera, I can say it's good, almost the same as the main camera, unlike other phones that have poor white camera lenses compared to their main camera. This is not the case for the pixel 4 a5g.

The front camera is also very, very good. I also like the night mode. This is where the pixel shines. It also has an Castro mode in which you can capture the stars in the sky. Of course, if it's not cloudy, and it also can capture a very high quality night shot as if it was captured in the daylight, the portrait mode is great.

It can blur the background beautifully both front and back camera supports it. For the video. This is a sample video using the back camera. This is a video test for the pixel 4 a5g for the front-facing camera. It can capture 4k videos at 60 fps, as well as 1080p up to 240fps, 120fps and 240fps are set when you capture in slow motion.

The video camera supports optical stabilization, as well as digital stabilization for smooth video. You can select from 4 presets for the video stabilization. According to your use, number three long-lasting battery. I use it for more than two months now, so I can say that this phone can last up to two days. If you charge it up to 100 in the morning, expect it to last until the next evening these have a large 385 William hour battery.

So that's why? But I charge my phones up until 80. Only you know to make the battery life span longer since charging it in full stresses the battery, so it lasts about one and a half day in my case, but still not bad huh number four, no lag performance. I did not experience any lag when using my phone, although I don't play games that much, so I cannot comment on playing intensive gains on this phone, but on the day-to-day usage of this phone. This is great. It's fast faster than the Pixel 4a, thanks to snapdragon 760g inside I'm, pretty confident that great performance will last long even when the new version of android comes up.

And yes, this is a pixel phone made by google, so it will receive the latest version of android earlier than any other phones. This comes with android 11, and it's guaranteed to have the latest update for at least three years number five and the most important one. The price. This phone doesn't cost a lot, but as you can see from number one to number four, it's a great phone. It's not a thousand dollar phone, but it acts like one.

This is free bang for your buck. Priced at 499 USD before taxes. This is a compelling budget phone. Oh, before I forget this comes with 5g, obviously from its name: Pixel 4a 5g. So it's a nice bonus for fast connectivity and also for future proofing.

It also comes with 3.5 mm headphone jack, so no need to buy Bluetooth. Phones, that's a plus for me, of course, to attain its affordable price. Google cut some corners, but you know what that's actually a smart move. They cut corners on the things that most people don't care about. First, this phone has a plastic build, so it doesn't look as premium as the glass or aluminum build, but hey, that's, okay and plastic is all right.

It's lighter because of this compared to my pixel 2 XL, it's lighter, but they are almost the same size. Also, must people put the protective case on their phones, so I find it no issue for being a plastic build. Besides, if you want it naked, you can just put a d brand skin like this. It has no wireless charging, but it supports fast charging and has a very great battery life. It's not top of the line processor, but it's faster than the top processors.2 years ago, it's faster than my pixel 2 XL. At the same time, it consumes less battery than the top snapdragon 865.

So it's still good. It's not dual physical scene, but it supports dual sim. Although the other CMS e-sim, the storage, is not expandable, but it's large enough at 128gb. Also, it comes with free, unlimited, high quality photo storage, courtesy of google photos, so you can back up all your photos and videos on the cloud for free. It also just supports 60hz display, not 90hz or 120hz, but hey.

I can leave with 60 hertz and by the edge of this it's not hogging your battery life. The panel is just 1080p, but you cannot tell the difference between 144p display, for example, it's still crisp and at 413 PPI, it's still higher than 300 PPI retina display standard by having 1080p display. Of course, the benefit is also longer better life. There's no telephoto lens, but I think, having a wide angle photo is better than telephoto lens wide angle can create more creative shots. Let's recall an amazing modern display check long battery life check best in class camera check, budget price triple check, no lag performance check, so is pixel 4 a5g a great phone check.

This is an almost perfect phone with no frills attached. All important ones check there. You have it like the video, if you like it, subscribe for more videos like this check. My other video, like my review for the Pixel 4a, the 4g version. Thank you guys see you in the next video bye.
