Pixel 3 XL vs iPhone Xs Max vs OnePlus 6 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 9! | CAMERA Comparison Test Review!

Hi guys are bit and welcome back to a brand-new video and welcome to the biggest smartphone camera comparison. I've ever done on the channel today get ready because. This is gonna, be huge, as you probably we'll know, the pixel 3 & 3 XL were launched a few days ago. I did an unboxing and first review on that. If you want to go and check that out after this video, but of course one of the biggest selling points of the pixel phones is their camera. So of course we need to test it and the best way to test.

It is, of course, to compare it to three other really popular smartphones right now, so we're comparing the pixel 3 XL with the iPhone 10s max the 1 + 6 and the Samsung note 9 now I know the 1 plus 60 is due out very soon, and I would like to test that compared to these 3 as well. But it's not on the table right now. So I thought, as the 1 plus 6 is a very popular phone. This year, I love it to the list I'm actually doing a video I'm doing a camera comparison on different smartphones, so I'm, creating a video. So without further ado buckle yourselves in, we are going to start with video okay.

So what we're doing now? We are testing the 4k capabilities for image stabilization. This is 4k at 30, which I'm going to run right across the board, because that's the highest resolution, the pixel three and three Excel actually running and for the three other phones which actually run in 4k at sixty. The image stabilization doesn't really work very well on those. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to test the 4k at 30, so you can get an idea of image stabilization more than anything on the four smartphone cameras, like I, said the other three can record in 4k at 60, so that is a bonus of m3 over the pixel 3 I'm, going to record the audio for this section on the actual inbuilt microphones on these smartphones. So you can get an idea of how it actually sounds.

Okay, so I've now turned the surrounding camera're. Now, filming in 1080p, which is the highest that the Google Pixel three can run in, and again I'm going to do the same for all four smartphones, so we can kind of keep it fairly, fair, fairly, fair, Yeah right all three of those words rhymed brilliant. So again, let me know about the resolution and the sound quality and the stabilization of the front camera as well. Okay, so now we're on the iPhone tennis max again filming in 4k up 30 frames, a second for that stabilization, hopefully, should be pretty good. So let me know what you think about the audio the stabilization and the picture.

Quality at 30 frames a second, and again we're filming in 1080p. Let me know what you think of the image quality the resolution because stabilization, but that's not as important as I mentioned okay, so this is the one plus six again, it's 4k at 30 for the stabilization which we're looking at, which I think is quite important for this test. Again it does film in 4k at 60 as well. So if you want that, then go with this over the pixel, for example, and the same for the note 9 and the iPhone 10s max, but stabilization which of the four comes out on top, let me know, and also the picture quality at 4k at 30 and finally, we're now on 1080p front-facing camera again on the 1 plus 6. Let me know what you think of the picture: quality, the stabilization and the audio as well, because I don't think we mentioned that on the last one plus 6 clips.

Let me know: ok here is the footage from the Samsung Note 9 and again, as I said, 4k at 30 frames. A second. Let me know what you think of the stabilization, the sound quality and, of course, image, quality as well. Okay, so the Samsung Note, nine right, so the Samsung Note nine can record in a few different resolutions. The main two you probably use would be 1080p, which is what we've got here and that's when hopefully, we've got some stabilization, but it can also record which none of the other three cans in quad HD as well.

The stabilization on that is kind of non-existent, but at least you have the option of a higher resolution recording. So let me know what you think about the stabilization, the quality of 1080p and the audio, and then we will go to the quad HD. Now the front-facing camera on the Samsung note 9 can film in quad HD. So let me know whether the resolution is a big jump up for you. In my personal opinion, in terms of stabilization they're, all fairly similar I would say, the 1 plus 6 struggles a little more than the other three.

Now you would expect the overall camera to be worse on the 1 plus 6, due to the fact that it is a lot cheaper than the other 3 devices. But as we go through this video, you will notice. That is not always the case. But yes, in this situation, the stabilization does look quite artificial and jar compared to the other three. Also, the audio quality isn't quite as good.

In my opinion, the best audio quality probably comes from the pixel or the Samsung Note 9 in terms of picture, and you'll notice. As we go through the video, the iPhone, in my opinion, has a real issue. It's too warm and often results in giving people. Mainly me, I, don't know about anyone else anyway, but a very red tomato face, and the fact that you can't really change settings very easily on the iPhone make this a bit of an issue. It would be nice to see.

Apple address this now. The pixel 3 & 3 Excel, the iPhone Tennis Max and the OnePlus 6 have a maximum of 240 FPS for slow motion, whereas you can get up to 960 FPS on the Samsung Note 9, of course, that drops the resolution down to 720p instead of 1080 like you can get on the other three. But you can also get many other modes with the note 9 as well I've chosen to show the 960 FPS, because I think, even though the resolution is less that super slo-mo is incredible. I wish that something would in a too, as soon as you press record, for it to record in that I find trying to capture that individual moment. You want the slow mode, a bit more difficult on the setup that the note 9 has but yeah 960 frames per second Wow.

You've also got this little fella. Furthermore, you can just add on. If you want, it's called the playground, and you can add little people, little characters and Iron Man II he's loving it say: hi come on mate he's getting he's getting a bit aggressive, I'm going to have to go because he looks like he's gonna. He looks pretty scary to be following me, can't believe it he's follow. Okay, so onto the first picture of the day, and we've taken a picture of my GH 5 camerae and the key things to look for here is the Lu mix text and also the minor background blur that we've got we're not doing portrait on any of these phones in this specific photo.

But we do have that natural foreground focus of the camera and I. Think in this scenario, the Samsung Note 9 and the iPhone tennis max probably come out a little better than the other two. They have more natural backgrounds and the text is very sharp. The pixel isn't very close in terms of that text, but the background looks a little artificial and unfortunately, on this occasion with the 1 + 6, the background looks very artificial. The actual edges of the camera are a little out of focus compared to the other.

Three phones and the text again isn't quite sharp. Bonus point goes to the note 9 for that silver section on the tripod, underneath the camera that is looking phenomenally, sharp, okay so onto the next photo. We are now going portrait with the same shot now on the pixel 3 XL, the iPhone tennis max, and the Samsung note 9 you can actually alter at this after the photo is taken. However, I just left this how the photo is taken so with the both or depth effect or portrait modes. The key thing to look out for is edge detection.

Many people will argue that the dual lens cameras will perform better in this situation than a single lens with software, but in this occasion the pixel 3xl there's a pretty reasonable job. Just using software, the iPhone 10s max has a little more of a natural background. It is blurred, but not quite as aggressive as the other. Three again, the text is pretty even between the pixel, the iPhone and the note 9, but it does seem. The 1 plus 6 is having trouble finding the edges again of the main bit of the camera and the tripod as well beneath it now.

The note 9 actually seems to struggle a little with that tripod as well, compared to the iPhone and the pixel. So on this occasion, I probably side with the pixel and the iPhone right on to our first selfie and I apologize for all of these selfie photos. You're going to see today because they're all pretty smoking right, so again we're using portrait mode again we're using that blur behind and in terms of edge detection. The pixel 3xl is doing an amazing job. On that left-hand side, the 1 plus 6 and the iPhone are pretty close, and the Samsung note 9 appears to be very blown out on this occasion.

The detailing of the hair and the jacket on the pixel 3 excel are phenomenal in terms of the colors I would have to say the 1 + 6 +. The pics are probably the most accurate again we're seeing with the iPhone very red appearance to the face tomato boys back and in terms of sharpness of the detail. The iPhone and the pixel are bringing more to the table. Now we jump to our first street shot and I think. In my opinion, the pixel 3 and the Samsung Note 9 seem a little brighter and a bit sharper compared to the iPhone and the 1 + 6.

On this occasion, both of the two photos in the middle- a much darker and just a bit bland on this occasion. Now we're going to jump onto another both shots, and we have, on the left hand, side. The pixel, 3 XL has a bit of trouble with that top bud, and you'll notice with this photo and a lot of other photos. During this video, the 1 plus 6 has a much wider angle. Lens I was going to zoom it in, but I thought I'd show you how it would be standard and in terms of edge detection, the iPhone absolutely kills the other 3 on this occasion, real blurring going on with some top buds on the other 3 phones, whereas the iPhone keeps it all in terms of sharpness and color I go towards the pixel or the iPhone, but even the 1 + 6 on this occasion does a reasonable job a nice a little better, actually than the note, 9 and I.

Think part of the problem with the note 9 here in this photo and something that I noticed through using it on a regular basis, is when you're looking to use that live, focus, mode or selfie focus on your front facing camera. Unless you get it, bang on rye, and you're very still, and you allow the phone to assess the scene for quite a long time. You often get quite blurred shots, and while you will sometimes get the warning, this photo may be blurred on the note, nine, and then you can take another photo, which is quite helpful. I find I get that quite a lot on the note. Nine and I certainly think it's something they could adjust right.

We've got some severe HDR action going on right now, with this selfie shot directly upwards into the Sun breaking out of the cloud. So this is one of the hardest photos to make look good for a smartphone camera, and on this occasion my favorite photo is the pixel three excel, but it doesn't mean it's necessarily the best, because it looks the most artificial, I kind of look a little like a superhero. That's possibly why I like it. The sharpness of the hair, for example, is undeniable. The sky and the clouds, in the background that you can see brilliantly, not overexposed, is great, but there's definitely some wizardry going on.

It does look a little artificial. The iPhone on this occasion looks more natural than the pixel 3xl. Probably the second-best photo HDR again working pretty well, not quite as good as the pixel, but pretty well, and then the other two are a little overexposed. The one plus six on this occasion actually handles it. I think a little better than the note nine, which again compared to the other three is struggling a little with this selfie focus I then shot directly into sunlight to test the same thing on the rear camera, and on this occasion the pixel actually blows out the Sun a little more than the other three.

However, the actual detail of the clouds, for example, is pretty good on the pixel. The sharpness of the car at the bottom of the road is probably slightly better on the iPhone, and the same could be said for the tree on the left-hand side, but it's very minimal again. All in all, all four have done an excellent job on this occasion. In this set of photos, the iPhone 10s max absolutely kills it followed closely by the note 9 and then the one plus 6 and the pixel three Excel on this occasion both do a fairly similar job of not really being able to assess what needs to be in focus and what needs to be blurred now, what's odd about the iPhone, and it's definitely something to do with the AI and a whole Beauty gate that's been mentioned. But if you notice, the colors aren't vastly different between these four photos.

Yet, when there's a face in the frame that comes out a lot richer, so I certainly feel that there's some AI wizard again going on that when it sees a face, it sort of puts this layer on top and includes a high sort of saturation, and our final plant photo for now is a leaf that was heavily blowing in the wind and the ability to capture this by all four is fairly reasonable. Again, I would say the note nine struggled the most, and you can see that on the edges of the leaf, whereas the other three do a very good job at keeping the edges in focus whilst blowing the background in terms of sheer detail, it's very hard to pick between the pixel and the iPhone I would just sway towards the pixel, but it's very close right. So now we're onto our first main building two things that I'm looking at is also the sky, and the tree above I feel personally there's more detail in the treat from the iPhone in terms of the sky. It again would be closed between the pixel and the iPhone, but the one plus six on this occasion really stacks up to the other three now in this photo, while the actual detail and sharpness of the light is probably the best in the iPhone I think the note nine does a better job overall of keeping the light in focus and blowing the background again, if you notice on all the other three, the pole of the lamp is blurred in all three. When really it should be in focus because it is in the foreground and, like I, said the note, nine keeps it in focus really well, but also with the note nine.

The sky is a little more washed out than the other three. It is a bit overexposed, okay, so onto this next one and the Samsung Note nine and the iPhone tennis Max are probably the most realistic in terms of color reproduction. The one plus six is a bit bright and the pixel 3xl is a bit dark. The HDR is working great on the iPhone and the note 9 in this occasion in terms of sharpness and detail, it's fairly similar across the board. Although actually, if you look at the brick wall behind the statue, it does appear to be a little sharper actually on the one plus six, which again is incredibly impressive.

When you consider the price of the phone. Oh, no, here's this ugly, mug again we're going to break this next photo down into a few different sections, we're starting with the hair and on the pixel 3xl, and the one plus six in my opinion, actually comes out. Better than the iPhone and the note nine, the iPhone and the note 9 it's a bit blurred and just far sharper on the 1 plus 6 and the pixel 3xl in terms of color reproduction again, the pixel 3 XL and the OnePlus 6 seem to be in this occasion bit more accurate. We've got tomato face, contrasts boy again with the iPhone and even the note 9 is actually a little warm on this occasion. The sharpness and detail on the jacket is probably the poorest on the iPhone, also in terms of edge detection, again, I'd have to say the pixel and the OnePlus 6 do a bit of a better job on this occasion in terms of the sharpness of the face, the pic saw, the iPhone and the 1 plus 6, on this occasion outperform the note 9 and again.

This is an issue that I've been having with the note 9, even though it's a great photo. It's just not quite as sharp on that front. Camera the rear camera whole different ballgame, but the front camera for some reason, I'm getting a bit of an issue right onto our final selfie. For a little while, we've got more, don't worry, and on this occasion, if you can kind of get away from the massive red balloon head on the iPhone. In my opinion, it's taken a better photo in this situation, follow closely by the 1 plus 6, and even though again, the sharpness of the Samsung Note 9, isn't quite as good.

It has to outperform the pics or 3xl, because the edge detection on the pixel 3xl here is pretty horrid. If you look at the bottom of the ear, it's completely missed the edge there. I noticed it straight away, and I did take another photo just to check and, as you can see, the second photo worked a lot better and actually looks like one of the better photos out before. But that inconsistency does concern me a little. We've got this building with a spire on this occasion, and we're going to crop it in starting with the Google Pixel 3 Excel and the iPhone Tennis Max, and then go on to the 1 + 6 and the note 9.

As the picture stands right there. It looks very similar at the actual HDR capabilities on the 1 + 6. On this occasion, look awesome. You can definitely see more detail in the clouds and, to some extent more than the other three, which is really impressive. I would say on first impressions that the worst of the three photos is probably the iPhone just based on the fact that the exposure of the sky has almost completely wiped out the spire of the building.

So on this occasion the HDR hasn't quite worked as well as you might want it to the pixel again is a darker photo than the other three very hard to give you my favorite in terms of foreground detail. If I were pushed on the matter, I would possibly side with the note 9 or the pixel 3 XL, but the OnePlus X is very I. Think on this occasion the iPhone is probably the worst of the four photos right. So we've now assumed in on the pixel 3 XL and the iPhone tennis max and as I said before, the overexposure is apparent even more here on the iPhone. You can see more detail on the pixel 3 XL.

The iPhone is just too washed out now the 1 plus 6 and the Samsung note 9 very similar again. I can't really call this one. The only one that would make me sway with the 1 plus 6 is the color accuracy. Now we've got a close-up of a traffic light, and on this occasion my two favorites are clearly the note 9 and the iPhone tennis max the 1 plus 6 again, when zoomed in just wasn't quite as clear and the picture 3xl had a hard time at finding focus, and that was possibly due to a manual issue. Maybe my photography skills weren't, quite as good as they should have been on this occasion.

I would possibly say that would be the case, but I thought I will include it anyway. Now we're jumping back to the both effect, and on this occasion we've got a close runner-up, but one clear winner, the runner-up, would be the pixel three XL due to the vibrant and rich colors. On a fairly dull day, the picture looks beautiful, apparently I like flowers. Now maybe I should start reviewing flowers as well. In terms of first place, the clear winner would be the iPhone tennis max for the natural both effect.

Everything in the foreground is in focus, whereas the other three are struggling with parts of the plan. The colors are better on the pixel from the 1 plus 6 and the note 9, and that's the only reason, really why it's jumped into second place. On the note 9 and the iPhone tennis max. We have two times optical zoom, which are used on the 1 plus 6. We have 2 times zoom, but it's digital and on the pixel 3xl again it's digital, and you use like a slider.

Now most people would argue that optical zoom is better than digital zoom and probably on this occasion, the iPhone 10s max and the Samsung Note 9 are the better photos, and I'm mainly going off the sharpness of the background on this occasion, compared to necessarily the horse in the foreground. Now we're entering into low-light photography, and this is where you would expect the Samsung Note 9, with its dual aperture lens to far surpass the other three. But at this first occasion, just after sunset, it's fairly close I do think. The detailing of the leaves to the left of the light is slightly better on the note 9, but the other three are very close. Now we have a first low-light selfie and on this occasion the Pixar 3xl and the one plus six surprisingly, actually did better than the iPhone tennis max and the note 9 I've ended the same shot with the flash and the iPhone was a bit dark.

The note 9 was a bit bright. The other two were kind of in between, and probably the better out of, the four photos, the 1 plus 6 and the pixel 3 Excel. Now in this photo, it's just starting to get even darker and the pixel is the brightest of the four photos followed by probably the note 9 I feel the pixel is slightly more artificially bright in the photo. It's a bit more processed than the natural shown. The note 9, but again at this stage, still not too much between the four.

Then, with the increasing drift into low-light, we have one final selfie and, on this occasion, I think the pixel 3 Excel steals the show it's its not perfect by any means, but it still keeps good detail in the hair, good sharpness in the face and the jacket and probably my second favorite would be actually again believe it or not the one plus six, and that saturation issue on the iPhone in low-light is even more apparent. Just take a look at the difference in color between the iPhone and the other three. It almost looks like it's different weather conditions or a different day, and to back that up, this is exactly the same. Look of a change in color between the other three and the iPhone. It's just incredible I feel personally, is definitely something that needs to be addressed with that color composition.

But in this comparison there are two things to note number one: the ability of that dual aperture Samsung note, 9 everything is still very sharp. It's probably the best picture there. The details are far sharper than the pics of three excel, and they are sharper than the 1 plus 6, but the 1 plus 6, even though it's not quite sharp for the money. It's done a very, very good job in this really low light situation, and I've kind of written off the iPhone. Just due to the abhorrent color and the final low-light shot of the day, is of a car wheel and again backing up what I just said.

Look how sharp the detail is there on the Samsung note 9 on the tire the p7 there, and before we go I wanted to touch on a couple of things that the pixel three and three excel can do. We do have a wide-angle lens on the pixel 3 XL and, as you can see, it's going to be great for group shots, for example, and we have what's known as playground. There are a few more characters, and they may add to this over time. Certainly, a nice addition to play around with there is also a mode coming out very soon with a software update, nitrite and that is going to massively apparently enhance low-light performance on the pixel three excel. So I can't wait to try that and of course, I will update you in due course on that.

If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram I'll often be posting photos, for example, from different smartphones, and I'll certainly be doing the same with that new mode. So that is pretty much it as you've. Seen from that camera comparison, the biggest most ultimate camera comparison, we've done on the channel today. All four phones on the whole did a pretty great job. Each of them were good in their own way and some were better than others at certain things, and this is where I want to hear from you guys in the comment section below which camera do you think perform the best on these tests? Is it the pixel 3 XL? Is it the iPhone 10s max? Is it the one plus 6 or is it the Samsung Note 9? Let me know below I'd love to hear thoughts as always as and share.

If you did enjoy this video and found it helpful, subscribing it I notification bell if you're new to the channel and want to be notified every time, I, post a video and I love, you leave you I'll see in the next 1ch SP OTP cell. You.
