Pixel 2 vs Pixel 3 FULL Camera Comparison! - Nearly Identical? By Max Lee

Hi guys today we're going to do a full daylight camera comparison, including videos and photos and portrait mode between the pixel 2 and the pixel 3. Let's go ahead and take a look I guess they're gonna, do a quick test between the pixel 3 and the pixel to daylight. Camera performance test I'm using the front camera right now on both let's go and test out the audio first. So right now the audio is on pixel 3 and now let's go ahead and switch to pixel ?, which one do you guys think is better. Do let me know in the comments below and as far as stabilization, they seem about the same yeah no difference, but let me see if I can go wider. Now I got the pixel 3 at the widest angle, so it is a slightly wider than the pixel ?, not a huge amount, but definitely I like the wide angle and also the low-light performance seems to be pretty good, but now we're going to go ahead and switch to the back camera.

Now this is the with the back camera. Do let me know which one you think is more stable. I've got video stabilization on both this isn't a 4k I keep going as far as dynamic range, which one do you think is better to my naked eye. They look about the same I think alright, slightly more saturated with the pixel three all right, but as far as the amount of exposure control come on, let's go, it seems about the same. All right.

We run slightly shade now and yeah. If we walk up a little bore, we'll have a little better test all right. This can be a very good test. It's about. We got a perfect California Sun here, and it's gonna really test out which one has better dynamic range, but I feel like they're about the same I, don't see an advantage, um I, actually yeah bout, the same as I said they have about the same sensor performance.

This is definitely a different sensor, but yeah definitely about the same sensor. Performance in terms of also dynamic range, all right, heading directly at the Sun I think dynamic range, probably about the same now. I am using the new pixel three camera apps on my pixel -. Do you have a pixel -? You can go ahead and solve a pixel, 3, camera and I. Think performance is about the same as far as stabilization.

It's nearly identical. Let me do a panning test here. They look nearly identical. Maybe the pixel 3 have a tad better performance, but dynamic range exposure. Stabilization look about the same.

That could be the better sensor. So there is a slight advantage there. So for the videos I felt like the audio was way better on the pixel to pixel three booths. Audio quality is just not there, and that could be due to the fact that there's actually two microphones on the pixel two there's only one microphone on the pixel 3. As far as stabilization dynamic range I felt like they were about the same slightly more details in the shadows, maybe like a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of better low-light performance that you probably will not notice so, in other words, nearly identical performance for video I.

Also did this test in low lighting near these same identical results, so audio has gotten worse with pixel 3. No, this is not for the pixel 3 Excel I'll have to do another tests on that, but that one also has only one microphone, so the results could be nearly identical, but let's go and take a look at the photo comparisons. Let's go and take a look, though. Let's do a quick comparison of the pixel 2 with pixel 3, camera app and also on the right is pixel 3. So if you watch my comparison between the pixel 2 camerae and pixel 3 camerae on a pixel ? um, there is a lot of software improvements.

Now. Yesterday, I did a video showing that there are no improvements in performance that they're nearly identical between the pixel 2 and pixel 3 um sensor performance. When you put the pixel 3 camera apps on your pixel ?, but that was in low light and a lot of you wondering what the performance would be like in daylight, so I did the test again. This is a pixel ? on the left, with the pixel 3 camerae and pixel 3 on the right with the pixel 3 camerae or in this first shot. I would say slightly more natural colors, with the pixel three but zooming in as far as dynamic range, I would say one's better than or another people would look pretty good.

They both look nearly identical, oh and also, if you guys, are drinking while watching this. Please take a shot. Every time, I say: they're, nearly identical or in this next shot of the bluffs out here I mean they look nearly identical, I'm sorry, but they look nearly identical. No, absolutely no differences, dynamic range or anything like that. I, here's another shot and let's go ahead and zoom in on these rocks over here, maybe tiny bit better with the shadows.

You guys slightly more details, um, but zooming outs, I, don't think you would notice it. Maybe on a big screen, you might notice it, so maybe a tiny bit better. The colors are also slightly different. Are you shot at the beach? Nearly identical and I wanted something more challenging, so I shot directly against the Sun, not that you should just as a test I'm going in zooming in about the same level of noise between the two and as far as exposure about the same nearly identical all right. These are another challenging shot where you got a lot of shadows, and you got the reflection of the sun exposure about the same nearly identical, but going in zooming into these rocks.

There's slightly more details in the shadows. Let's go ahead and look at the waves here. I feel like slightly more details with the pixel three I do like the colors on the pixel three, maybe slightly better colors. Alright, this is zoomed in on both phones and I. Think it looks a little better, so maybe the artificial intelligence on pixel three um does a lot better when you zoom- and you can see a lot more details, I'm slightly sharper cleaner with the pixel three.

Here's a comparison between the front camera, how white it is when you take videos I'm the difference, isn't as much when you take a photo, you can see the clear difference, whereas Bodies cutoff um, the wide-angle, really helps alright another reason to buy the pixel three. Let me go ahead and show you. The portrait photos I took next, and I had these. Both of these sets at the maximum bouquet all right, I'm. Taking a look at two of these photos, the pixel three.

Obviously getting that nice bouquet with the pixel two. You have a little of trouble here and also a little of trouble here and also pixel. Three has a little of trouble down here in this next example, you'll clearly see where pixel three does a lot better processing with bouquet. This almost looks like shot on a DSLR versus yeah and here's another shot of my ROG Bowie again a lot more natural with the pixel three, while pixels two is having trouble. So portrait mode is where pixel three really shines and here's a shot of my daughter looks pretty good pixel to struggling here.

Pixel three doing pretty good: let's go ahead and zoom in and yeah. Both are not perfect, but I definitely would give the win to pixel three all right. Here's another shot where pixel three does quite well, except for cutting off this leaf over here. Pixel two just has trouble all right. This is a really challenging because I'm shooting at an angle when there's two people involved a woman and a taco pixel three has trouble a pixel.

Two also has trouble. You'll see this tree up here. This is pretty challenging and I. Think on this shot, both look perfect um. Both shots have trouble blurring out this little part here, you'll see it's ? yeah all right.

Here's a very challenging shot. Pixel through you did really well on pixel ? had a little trouble getting the depth right. Alright, here's a selfie with my daughter. This is the same selfie, but with wide angle, and you can see how wide it is. Overall I would still have to say the performance.

The raw performance of the camera sensor and Hardware on both pixel 2 and pixel.3 are nearly identical, but definitely portrait mode, I think pixel 3 does better and that could be due to better processor, but yeah I, don't really see a difference. You know in exposure the overall photo. They look nearly identical for non portrait photos. Now we already did this test in low-light and the reason why I do this in low-light is because low lights, you'll, see more differences between the two phones and with daylight. Also, I didn't really see too much difference other than the pixel 3 doing slightly better, with the shadows bringing up the details.

Besides zooming in more details with the AI processing with the pixel 3 portrait modes was way better on the pixel, 3 and also wide-angle. Camera way. Wider actually really dig the wide angle on this, because a performance is nearly identical to the regular fun camera. So it has actually really, really good wide-angle front camera, especially for photos, but yeah I just want to do this full camera comparison for guys. Don't let this test? Stop you from buying the pixel three, it's still a great phone as far as hardware.

It's a much better design feels a lot better. Google may not have improved upon the camera raw performance so much, but at the same time they already have the best camera out there. They simply can't improve upon it too much because it's already nearly perfect I'm nearly flawless it's hard to improve upon something, that's already nearly perfect that everyone else is trying to copy. So, even if the raw performance of the cameras are the same, pixels to me is still a better phone. You know it's more of a complete phone official ip68 rating.

You can wireless charging slimmer, you know, especially the wide-angle camera, so yeah. The point is that pixel 2 was king of smartphone and pixel.3 is still king of smartphone. Photography has a great day folks and, as always, stay.
