OPPO Watch (41mm) in 2021: Better Than OnePlus Watch Under 15k ?

All right this is the Oppo watch and well. It is the first proper smartwatch that I decided to buy for a lot of reasons, and I've been using it for quite some time now and in all this time. Well, it did impress me a lot, but is it seriously worth considering in 2021? Well, let's find out and to be honest, I've always stayed away from smartwatches for two reasons. First is the battery life, as that is one more thing to charge every single day. Second, is the absence of always on display and that hurts, because if a watch doesn't even fulfill its basic task of showing time, it is useless to me as I feel it should be effortless and always on, and that's why I use this amaze Fitbit for years, as it says, always on all the damn time now. First off in the box, we don't get anything fancy as such, but we have this neat packaging and the MRP on box is around 20k for this 41?mm variant and intentionally.

I went for this one as 46?mm. One is too costly and big, as per my liking and wrist size, so I went ahead with this one in the box. We have the watch at first, and it looks really well-built as such, plus I like the style as compared to the round ones, but that's a personal choice. Next up we have the charging cradle and an extra loop, and apart from that, nothing else in the box, no charging brick or something oh and yeah. There is some paperwork too coming to the watch itself now, and it feels great in hand the material as well as finish, is really premium, and the watch weighs around 30 grams without strap, so that isn't heavy at all.

However, it does resemble Apple Watch a lot from outside, but that is where the similarities end. So, let's check out the specs quickly now, so this Oppo watch has a 1.9 inch, AMOLED display, and only the 46?mm variant has that curved display that looks more premium as such, and the display overall looks really nice and has good sharpness and viewing angles are good too. However, if you want a bigger display, go with the 46 mm variant, if you have the budget, as it simply looks better than this one. Apart from that, we have the one gigabyte ram and snapdragon 3100 VR soc running this Bros powered smartwatch, though we only have a couple of watches with the snapdragon 4100 chipsets, but that's how it is, and even this 3100 is not bad at all, actually before moving further a tap on that subscribe. Button will really help the channel out.

So let's get back to that in a second rest, this watch runs on Bluetooth version 4.2, which is not the latest one as such, but there were no issues in the connectivity front as it even has Wi-Fi, so you won't have any problems as such. We also get a heart rate sensor and sadly, there is no spo2 sensor with this one. We also get a speaker and microphone to take calls and even use the Google Assistant directly on the watch. The battery capacity with this smaller variant is only 300 my and the 46?mm variant has a 430mah battery coming to the main part now software. So this Oppo watch runs on android wear instead of RTS or some other crap, and I find android weir to be better than compared to other platforms, because it gives a lot more control and way more customizations as compared to other platforms.

And I just don't like the OnePlus watch, even though it looks good design wise. So this one runs on the VR OS hmr2 version, and you must have heard a lot of bad things about android VR assets. And, yes, it has its shortcomings, which even google knows, and they are trying to partner with Samsung to improve this platform. But all that is into the future, and you should never buy a product for what it will be in the future, and you should buy it only after keeping in mind what it is right now and with that in mind, this Oppo watch has a really well optimized software, though it doesn't exactly look like stock VR, OS UI. But I have zero issues with this customization reason being it just works and that too really smoothly without any lags as such.

The switching through applications menus and all the animations look really well optimized, which isn't something you see on most smartwatches. So the software is really well optimized on this watch and that one gigabyte of ram surely helps in managing everything really nicely. We also get two buttons to control the watch and navigating through the menus is also easy as such, and because it has android bearer. We get access to google play store on the watch itself, and it has quite a few of watch faces from Oppo as well as hundreds of watch faces through apps like face, so there won't be lack of watch faces or applications as play store is there to give almost anything you need, plus it has most of the useful applications inbuilt, and that makes it really handy talking about the health and activity tracking. Well, it has quite a few of sensors and even GPS and Wi-Fi, which keeps it more of a device independent watch, but the activity, tracking and workout modes aren't actually that much, which is something weird.

So you get some walking and running modes along with the cycling mode and swimming mode.2 is there, as this is a 380?m waterproof, watch and hey that hate app is something I just don't like. You also get 5-minute workouts that are well explained with short videos. You can say- and I like those a lot as the watch reminds me to move every 1 hour or so, and it even recommends some stretching exercises and motivates me to do so. But the overall workout modes are something I feel should have been better and more workout modes could have been added as such at this price point about the sleep, tracking and heart rate sensor. Well, both of those are fairly accurate, and I compared it with amaze with big and OnePlus band, and they were close as such now talking about the battery life on this 41?mm variant, and that is something really complicated and might vary for all, though I could easily manage around 1.5 to 2 days with some notifications set to always on and AOD also set to always on, and that might not be the best you have seen, but it all depends on your usage. If you use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with the notifications, enabled all the time you can kill it in half a day or so.

But since I don't need those every time I enable them, whenever required in the battery saving mode, you can manage way more battery life. If you want the basic functionality only so switch over to that, and it gives around three percent overnight rain. But as far as the battery life is concerned, it is at par with the competition, though I do hope they optimize android, wear even more in the future, and if you want a bigger battery, the 46 mm variant is the one to pick. So if you are someone who is going to use it like 24 7, believe me, you can kill any smartwatch in a day, and it's all about the usage pattern that you have, but I do believe that a bigger battery should have been there on this watch so that it can last at least two easy days and the 46?mm variant will fulfill your expectations. Or else you can consider other art us based watches from amaze fit, as I don't feel like spending more than that on a dumb watch.

To be honest, now about some smaller things like connectivity. Well, the watch stays connected to the device without any issues, and you also get 8 gigabytes of onboard storage out of which close to 4 is usable, which is enough to store your music and applications. There is no Google Pay support as of now, which is a bummer as it has NFC support, and that would have helped a lot in this covet era about the microphone and speaker quality. Well, you can dial and take calls using the watch itself using the Bluetooth connection with the device and, while the call quality isn't amazing. Well, it's fine as such something similar for the speakers as well, and that is not loud and won't be enough to take calls outside, but it is usable just in case you are someone who wishes to use this feature, but don't expect a good output as such, so for what it's worth, the calling feature is usable, more or less.

The Wi-Fi also works fine without any issues, and the watch runs on latest Wear OS version, which is good, also note that you should update the watch as soon as you take it out of the box as that fixes. Some of those annoying issues with Google, instant and even the battery life is improved after the update. Also, things like Google Assistant work, fine, like 80 of the time as such, but it does not respond at all, sometimes, which can be seen on all watches, and I do hope google is working to fix those issues really soon. So, to sum up, should you buy this 41 mm version of Oppo watch in 2021? Well, if you're looking for a watch under 15 000 rupees, you don't see a lot of options with android VR as such, that takes most of the checkboxes, and I prefer this watch over OnePlus watch or even other RTS based watches, namely because of the OS the features available, the smooth UI it has and the great comfort it provides on my wrist. However, if I list some cons well, the battery life is good, but not great, like other RTS based watches.

So if that is your number one priority skip this one or go with 46?mm one, and if you need sheer amount of workout modes, then just have a precise look, as it has only the essential modes, but nothing like the cricket mode and stuff, and the other features that we usually see nowadays. So since I don't need all of that, it is fine for me. Lastly, I feel that the spo2 sensor should have been there on this one, and it would have made this watch an all-rounder in this price segment. But that is something missing and though you can of course buy a spo2 meter for around 1000 and that will give much better results. But the convenience of a watch is something different, and I understand that and thus, if you want to watch as of now, I can recommend this totally, but have a look at your use case first, and only then choose the right variant or entirely skip this one.

So that's pretty much everything I could think about the Oppo watch and if you end up liking this video press the thumbs up button and subscribe to the channel. If you haven't already thanks for watching this, video, and I'll see you in the next one, you.
