You settle for whats, supposedly the midrange killer Or. Is this just a lot of fast and high-flying OnePlus hype See What I did high-flying Hey guys ash here from c4etech and let's try to answer all those questions in todays video Now There are some things I really like about this phone and some things: I, absolutely detest Here. Today lets start with the positives First, the build, the word CE 5g, which Im gonna just be referring to as just the CE going forwards. . It feels great in hand , it's got a plastic back and plastic is something Im supposed to dislike.

But honestly I didnt mind it all that much, given it has a non-glossy finish, does not pick up fingerprints a lot and has a nice purple hue to the side. Reminds me of the first Huawei phones, with the dual tone gradient finishes. That said at this price point, it's fair to expect glass, but it is what it is: the frames, also plastic -. Now the use of plastic has meant that OnePlus has managed to get the weight lower than even the OG word. This one weighs in at 170 grams, making it one of the lighter smartphones today.

It's also pretty sleek at 7.9mm of thickness and while reaching all 4 corners of this panel. When using the CE single-handed, isn't really possible. This phones still pretty single hand, use friendly Lets. Now take a quick look around -. There are a couple of very interesting points to note.

We have the volume keys and dual sim tray to the left, secondary noise, cancelling mic up top the power key to the right and a speaker, USB type c port, The primary microphone and a headphone jack are all present to the bottom. Yup jacks back and the outputs nothing special, but hey jacks, back and all the focus on this headphone jack seems to make ppl overlook one very important omission: there is no alert slider, which is a letdown Now. OnePlus is supposed to be using their usual water resistance precautions, so the CE should be splash resistant, though it's got no official IP rating And, then moving on to the display -. This here is a 6.4 inch, panel, fluid AMOLED, 90hz, So all good , the viewing angles- are sweet as expected, The colors too, are quite rich and contrast, as is typical with AMOLED -. Now again, there are things worth noting , while the word had gorilla glass, 5, protection, OnePlus makes no such claims with the CE -.

So apart from the plastic back and omission of the alert slider, this here is yet another corner cut. To keep the price lower. Also note this display does not do HDR, 10+ Now, it's time for the big one. Let's talk about what's above this display the earpiece. No, no, don't get me wrong.

Now OnePlus has been baking in support for multiple 5g bands on global variants, while restricting the Indian one to just one or 2 bands and with 5g around the corner. Now, when the big, bold 5G branding in the name of the phone barely justifies it being there. Well, Houston, we have a problem!. This borderline misleads leaves a very sour taste in the mouth. I know, never settle, isn't something that you can actually build a business on unless you are talking about consumers, never settling for anything because.

Frankly, the business of smartphones is solely built on the fact that we never settle for anything keep chasing after the newest and latest always from a brand perspective with the CE, OnePlus might have as well changed their motto to Just Settle -. U know like Nike and just do it. OnePlus, just settle!, 1, 5g, band, seriously, Ok, rant over lets now switch back to something good , the performance -. Now as much as I talk about to mislead with 5G , we are still living in a pretty 4G world, so performance is still the biggest deal with a smartphone and OnePlus have delivered here. We get a snapdragon 750g on the inside -.

If that chip sounds familiar, its because it's the same chip from the pleasantly surprising galaxy m42, while that phone had its flaws, performance, wasn't one and the same continues with the CE day to day tasks at 90hz posed no issues to the 750g inside with more intense tasks like gaming. This is Genshin Impact on the CE -. As you can see, the game runs pretty well -. Of course, there are compromises, I am running it at low settings switch to medium and, as you can see, the gaming experience is greatly compromised. Ok! U know what let me quickly cut to my unboxing footage. This was a special reviewers box, It had the phones retail box and a case love. This case. BTW looks nice dun it anyway, let's get to the retail box. Now, remove the plastic wrap this heres, the back with the price scratched out because I did get it a while back opening up the box.

We first have the CE, removing the plastic wrap and also that sticker. That was my first look at the CE -. At that point, I liked the back, felt nice anyway. Let's now get back to the box theres, an insert here, which we will get to in a second , then theres, an USB type, a to type c cable, a 30w warp charger, which is quite interesting. It's the same charger as with the word, The battery capacity here tho is a little higher, but the charge timings are the same 0-70 in half hour, weird, but Im not complaining.

The battery life itself here was exceptional, With light to moderate use, the CE kept going on and on. It wasn't uncommon for me to end days with about half the charge. Left I don't, think anyone's going to have any issues with battery life on this one Ok got carried away -. Let's return to the box, that insert -. The last thing to talk about before jumping to price thatd be cameras. The CE has a 64mp primary camera with a f1.8 lens, a 8mp f2.3 ultrawide, as secondary along with a depth sensor just to make up the numbers under good light. The performance was nothing special, It did well great colors, pretty detailed at this price point though, We do expect that , even the 8mp ultrawide fared well. The real test -. It was under low light Here's, where I really wish I had a word with me to compare the images, but since I don't well, the images did turn out good -.

As you can see, there's a good amount of detail, even with images shot in the night. Video tops out at 4k30 and at this resolution the shakes are way too noticeable that I usually ended up dropping to 1080 60. For my video needs- and this footage you see- is a lot more usable I, really don't wanna talk about the selfie camera, since this is again the Sony imx471 -. I think this is the 10th OnePlus phone or something with the imx471 -. At this point, Ive seriously lost count -.

Depending on how much gaming matters to you, Cameras , Good, Battery, Life, , Excellent, Charging, , Excellent Now, the biggest negative for the CE IMHO is the 5G branding tacked on to it, for all intents and purposes, Id implore, Indian buyers to look at this as a 4G phone To mislead here feels very much like a kick in the balls, but barring that the CE still feels like a decent mid-range, offering mid-range killer. It definitely is not. All the planes in the world aren't gonna.

Get me high enough to say that -. It's still a good mid, ranger nonetheless. It's just that for a couple of thousand more, the word offers a lot more. Yes, the 128gb word is gonna, give you a 5000 price difference, but Id personally choose the 64gb word over this for the stronger internals, the better build, gorilla glass protection.
