OnePlus 9 Pro Unboxing

Hey, thanks for stopping by this is where I do the listen. I know you hate this part. Listen, I don't like it anymore. I have to ask like share subscribe, and it's just awkward because you don't even know what I'm about to do. This might be the worst video you've ever seen. It might be the greatest video ever seen, but now that I've set this bar so high already with the asking, you don't know what to do because you're like if it sucks, I don't want to like it and if I, if I subscribe now, and it's terrible, I have to unsubscribe and then the number goes up and down and obviously for me being a small creator, that's just like the worst thing ever, not really.

Actually, yes, but anyway, let's get into the video and talk about the things I like to talk about. But let me know in the comments below what you think and any other topics you'd like me to cover. Let's get into this, what is going on guys today? I want to take a look at or let's do an unboxing. Not take a look. I mean we'll see the device, obviously, but let's unbox the OnePlus 9 pro 5g.

These names are getting kind of crazy. I kind of hope we go back to the way things were a few years ago where there was just like a name of a phone um. It sounds like math problems. Half the time like you know, one plus one pro nine minus x equals what squared I'm like. I don't know the Apple Watch you're wrong.

I don't know. Let me know in the comments below what you think as far as the names go um and anyway, you know the box is actually kind of big. When I went to go pick it up, and this is the T-Mobile variant. I was kind of blown away at the size of the box because the last two phones- I've used uh regularly, where the 12 pro and the s21 ultra obviously, and so those boxes are rather thin, and so this kind of feels, like you know, pretty hefty uh, and I did grab the unboxing knife here because uh you know. Last time I tried to unbox something.

The tape was stronger than me, and it's embarrassing to admit it, but I'm man enough to say that uh I needed help here, and obviously you have some uh quite honestly, quite a bit of information on the back regulatory stuff and a bunch of other content on the back. That gives you an idea of you know what you're getting a list of specs off uh, and so it's just like any other box. You know, I think it is cool that it's red though I'll, give them credit for that and they've branded it hassle, bad and all that stuff uh. But let's get into this here guys, let's take a look at this phone. I think this is called this.

What color is the silver? It's interesting, the color right away, I'm a fan of the color. It kind of in this light looks like a sky blue um, but overall I think it is technically gray or silver. Again. It's its a simple color uh. Furthermore, it's I think it is over here.

Let me look on the box. Let me see what it says on the side here. Maybe it's silver: it's silver um. Anyway, let's look at the device here, it's wrapped in this beautiful. You know cornstarch, and I can already tell the color I uh.

I dig the fact that there's like a gradient- I don't know if that's the right term, if that makes sense, but let's set that aside and get into the box here, and so we pull this tab up, which is rather easy, and it feels empty. No, this isn't empty hold on. Let me get in here, let's get in here and see. What's up, because I see the charger, I see the power adapter that looks comically large. What are we getting here if I had to bet yeah, it's the usual books and stuff that no one really keeps um and that's the sim card again.

This is the T-Mobile variant I'll place it face down. Just in case I don't know what you can do with that, but I'm terrified. If people know what they're doing with it, it's kind of cool the stickers. You get your kind of feel like you're in this little club right, you can slap. You know, there's team, pixel, uh, there's never settle, and so I don't know, especially since this is like a don't say, boutique brand, but it definitely is a smaller.

Furthermore, you know niche or niche of the smartphone segment, obviously they're really popular now, but overall, compared to like Samsung or apple they're. Still, in my estimation, not there, but anyway, let's get rid of all this packaging that I'll never look at again. Throw that back in the box grab this and kind of set it off to the side, and I think I'll move the'll, I'll leave that there it's not a big deal. So the coolest thing is this: this power adapter is not only is it massive right, but it also outputs, pretty significant amount of power. I know.

Type c goes up to 100 watts charging pass through, and I think this is 45 or 65. Actually, this is 65 65, that's impressive, and so I mean the MacBook Air uh. Even the m1 version that is, you know, was just recently well not recently, but its last year's model only comes with a 60 watt power supply. So this thing can charge tablets um laptops your phone. It's definitely nice that it's standardized too.

It's not like a unique proprietary uh. You know mechanism, there's just type c and then the cables I've always liked one plus cables, because again they just stick to this cool kind of red and white and black kind of aesthetic. I'm a fan of that and uh the cable overall feels really thick. Let me get these clips off here. Wow, that's actually kind of tight on there uh.

Let's snap these off, I don't think they're meant to like be permanent. You know, cable management device tie things, but well anyway, this is uh. Now I wish it was a little longer, but I can't complain. This cable is really, really thick. I do prefer, like the braided cable, that some companies give you, but this feels really, really thick kind of like if you buy like a MacBook Pro.

You know the type c, cable or any other type c cable, the higher end one's like they have that worthiness to it. If you want to put it that way, um this has that. So this feels like it'll, definitely stand the test of time. It won't fray uh. It has like those little the little booty jacket, things at the bottom for cable, uh, strain uh.

So I'm a fan- and I don't think, there's anything else in the box um and again, this is the T-Mobile variant. So I'm curious to see if I boot this up, you know how much extra T-Mobile nonsense they put on there. Hopefully it's not a lot, but we'll see and then again sim card. Let me get that out of the way. Let's get everything out of the way here.

Uh move the box out of the way again, nothing else in the box and uh. Let's take a look at the well that just went in reverse mode, so that's interesting, um and again the big power adapter is nice to have its charges more than you know more than just one uh device that you probably have anything type c. This will work on, and so, if you do have a tablet or a know, device with a bigger battery, this will top it off pretty quick. So I got to give them credit for that now, let's take a look at the color again there is this nice gradient on the back um and I don't know if it's like a smoky gray at the bottom, and then it turns into a little more metallic silver uh, but you can see in the lighting here. Maybe my lighting might make it more challenging for you um, but you know again it's like a darker gray, and then it gets light and then it you know it remains light.

So I think that's kind of cool, and this is my first one plus device. You know I did have uh well. I tried to get a part when they did that like um, what do they call it? Where you would uh register or invite only I'm sorry, it was invite only and it kind of created this, like you, know, missing out type of uh vibe, and so I do remember that, and I tried to get up get on that, but I never you know, got invited or whatever um. So this is my first OnePlus device now. What I did notice right away is that it is lighter, but it also is a smaller phone right.

It has a smaller battery, I'm not saying that negatively, um, but even compared to the 12 pro like this phone feels light. Now I don't care like I know some people get caught up on. It doesn't feel heavy enough. It's not light enough. Furthermore, it's too light, and it's too heavy at the same time as what do you want, like just don't put anything in your hand, and then you won't have anything to complain about.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding kind of um, so I don't care about the weight. I think you know. Furthermore, I know the galaxy s 21 ultra here has a larger battery. Has bigger sensors has a bigger display, and so it kind of makes sense that it's heavier, but it's not a negative thing, and it's also not necessarily a positive thing that it's lighter heavier, I'm just a completely indifferent um, but I do like that OnePlus is kind of doing their thing with their design. I do prefer the matte black, though over, I guess the glossiness.

If I'm being honest with you, but that's preferential right, that's not that doesn't take away from the device. I'm just saying I prefer matte texture, it's less fingerprints! It just feels smoother. If that's the term I should use, I do like the matte black or black in general, the smoothness or any color. Really that's smooth uh, but nothing. You know it's not a dealbreaker at all in any by any stretch, obviously type c uh.

You know ports. Furthermore, you've heard me rant about that. Furthermore, you know over and over again on why Apple still has lightning not to compare to the iPhone. But again it is nice that this charger. I can technically use this high output charger on the s21 ultra or an iPad or my tab s7.

So that's nice, there's kind of that. Little type c ecosystem. There, um and overall I'm impressed with the design of this um. I'm curious to see how the camera is, because there is some big claims with this. You know hazel, brad or hazel.

What is it having a brad hazel, bad, the affiliation they have. I've never heard of this company. I know they. Furthermore, I guess worked with um like uh. Furthermore, I guess they helped develop lenses and cameras to take photos of outer space or something insane.

So it's pretty cool, so we'll see what that turns into I'm sure, with updates will get better. But let's boot this thing up, and so you get the T-Mobile flash screen. Obviously it is the T-Mobile variant and the app was a very fast boot up. I'm impressed with that, but I'm also curious to see if T-Mobile has put any bloat on the front to be honest with T-Mobile's, usually pretty good at not putting too much at least uh in my experience with them um, and so you know compared to 18 Verizon. Sometimes they just like throw everything but the kitchen sink and the phone.

So I'm curious to see how this plays out. I don't really see any bloke. Quite yet, let me run through the setup real, quick guys. I just want to get to the home screen and of course you got to your know, go through all this stuff here, so I'll go through and enable a lot of these things later on uh. But I'm excited to use this man, I uh, you know, I know I'm doing the saga on uh, you know switching to Samsung's ecosystem.

If you will um- and you know that's the one thing that I wish other companies could emulate like with one plus yeah- they have the smartwatch. But, like you know, there 's's the conversation there. I don't know how compelling it would be for me um, but you know when it comes to other devices like tablets, and you know smart tags and TVs and monitors and accessories like Samsung. Has it kind of nailed down for the most part, and you know maybe OnePlus will head in that direction um, but now that we're on the home screen here, I do notice that it's really, it is really smooth right. I'm a huge fan of refresh rate.

You know I've talked about this before I'm not telling you if you're one of those people that thinks, or that says they can't see it, I'm not denying that. I'm just saying for me. I really really really do notice it right away, and I'm a fan of it um, and so you know looking at the UI here I do like you know the overall aesthetic it's nice right again. This is my first time using OnePlus device. I know they kind of keep things bare bones, but um I'll save a lot of this for the real review or the full review.

If you want to see comparisons, let me know uh whether it's the 12 pro or it's, the galaxy s21 ultra, whatever uh and uh I'll, see you guys in the next video. I just wanted to get this out to you and have a good weekend, and I'll see you next time. Peace.
