OnePlus 9 & OnePlus 9 Pro Unboxing, Hands On & Comparison!

What's going on guys, my name is wade with tech daily and in this video we are checking out the new OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro now. I know these phones have been out for a few weeks now, but I really wanted to see what they're all about, and fortunately enough OnePlus was kind enough to send over not just the phones themselves for us to see, but a massive box of goodies with a couple of their cases thrown in as well as the new 50 watt wireless warp charger. So definitely a lot to go over here. I won't waste any more time, let's just jump straight into it and see what haul comes inside this absolutely massive box. So, like I mentioned, this package is quite a bit more than your average unboxing and sliding off the lid of this thing. Here we get this crazy presentation with a fold out picture of the moon landing which I'll show you in a second, along with both the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 pro now, OnePlus, of course, partnered with the Swedish camera company Hasselblad for these new phones and Hasselblad very famously created a handful of cameras, specifically for NASA that were sent to the moon to capture photographs there and that's what this big fold out picture is all about really a great addition also included in this media kit.

Here is the new OnePlus warp charge 50. This is their new 50 watt wireless charger, which I'll show you in just a bit, and we also get two cases to check out for the phones, a sandstone and a carbon, and I'll show you what these look like on the devices in a bit as well with all that stuff out of the way here are the new OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro devices, and I'll just quickly unbox these as well. So you know what comes inside the package, starting with the regular OnePlus 9. We of course get the phone itself. This is in the astral black colorway, but it's also available in winter mist purple inside this long cardboard box.

We also get quite the stack of paperwork and instructions, as well as a ton of really cool OnePlus stickers and the sim ejector tool loose there in the box. If you need it and of course, underneath all that stuff OnePlus also includes their famous red USB charging, cable, still, probably one of the highest quality cables, any manufacturer ships with their phones and the 65 watt warp charger for crazy, fast charging speeds here is the OnePlus 9. Once again, and I have to say I am a fan of this shiny black finish here. I think this phone looks really sleek, especially with the muted sort of subtle OnePlus logo, on the back that you can barely even see, but the OnePlus 9 pro, I think, comes in an even more interesting color and finish, and I'll just quickly show you what's inside this box here as well. Obviously, right off the bat you get the phone itself once again, and this here is the morning mist finish, which I'll show you in more detail in just a second also inside the box.

The rest of the stuff is exactly the same as before: there's a stack of paperwork, the stickers, the sim ejector tool and the same USB, cable and 65 watt fast charger. So here is the OnePlus 9 pro and peeling off the plastic wrap you can really see what this morning mist finish is all about. It's almost like a mirror with a subtle, blue, tint and side by side. I think both these phones look great but that OnePlus 9 pro really stands out. Obviously, both these phones look pretty similar, but there's actually a bunch of different stuff here that differentiates them from one another and, most importantly, makes the OnePlus 9 pro the more premium feature packed option first off in regard to the price, the regular OnePlus 9 retails in the US right now for 729 and the OnePlus 9 pro sells for 1069 bucks, so definitely on the upper end of the price spectrum, certainly flagship caliber and if you guys are interested best, buy, actually started selling these new OnePlus devices, which is great to see, and I'll leave some links down below in the video description to where you can get these phones at their cheapest current prices, physically, the regular OnePlus 9 comes in at just a smudge over six and a half inches 6.55 to be exact. That's the screen size and the OnePlus 9 pro is slightly larger at 6.7 inches side by side. It's sort of tough to tell the difference.

These are both pretty big phones, but the pro is just a little taller in comparison now. What's sort of interesting is that design wise? You might be able to tell that the OnePlus 9 pro sports that curved edge with a display, while the regular OnePlus 9, is a totally flat panel. I know some people prefer one setup and style over another. So that's why I mention it. The curve is super subtle on the pro in my opinion, but it is still there.

It makes the phone feel a little slimmer, maybe a little more premium, and I'm interested to see in the long run how it might affect the taps and touches and swipes, especially on the keyboard while typing, but all in all, it's an interesting design choice that certainly separates it from the regular phone up front. Both devices also have the same corner, hole, punch, camera, cutout up top super slim bezels, all around a really high screen to body ratio, no matter which way you go but, like I mentioned, that curved edge on the pro does yield just a little more screen there on the sides. Also in regard to the displays, both these phones offer a fantastic 120hz AMOLED panel with hdr10 plus support. The OnePlus 9 pros display is technically a little better and a little brighter than the regular OnePlus 9, but either way you go you're, getting just a phenomenal viewing experience. It's bold, it's bright, it's vibrant! It's a super colorful panel and at 120 hertz refresh rate.

These phones feel incredibly fast, very responsive, just super fluid. It's absolutely the high end. Viewing experience you'd expect at these price points and definitely a flagship caliber display from start to finish around back. Both phones have an all glass rear panel, which actually is kind of nice to see it's more premium of a material than some other companies have offered. Recently.

The regular OnePlus 9 has a plastic frame. It looks like, while the pro has an all metal aluminum frame, but either way you go. I think these devices really convey a premium vibe, and they really are good-looking devices. Also, if you're curious about those cases I mentioned earlier here, they are direct from OnePlus. They call them their bumper cases, but actually I think these offer solid overall protection for the devices the first one I have here is the sandstone bumper case.

It's a totally solid sort of hard plastic setup with that famous textured sandstone finish, it looks great. It offers a very drippy sort of feel in the hand for your very slippery phone, it's a great option for sure, especially for like 25 bucks. Furthermore, it would probably be my case of choice for these phones, though there's also this carbon bumper case as well, which is sort of interesting too. This one is a little more expensive. It's forty dollars.

It has that crisscross carbon fiber, look, which I think is super popular right now and looks really nice all in all. I think OnePlus has always offered decent accessories for their devices. These cases included they offer enough protection without being bulky. They look good they're, slim they're, sleek, high quality, especially definitely worth considering. If you have one of these new phones so just quickly taking a look around at everything else, you'll find mostly the same setup and features here with these phones on the left side.

There's the same volume buttons on the right, the power buttons and silent switch it's great to have that. Still on these OnePlus phones, it's something they're! Sort of known for down below the USB port for charging, of course, and one of two speakers, the secondary speaker on both phones, is in the earpiece for dual stereo sound. Definitely a fan of that and around back, you can see those highly publicized Hasselblad camera setups on both phones, though this is another aspect that separates the pro from the regular. The standard OnePlus 9 has a very respectable, triple lens setup, consisting of a 48 megapixel main lens 50, megapixel, ultra-wide lens and a 2 megapixel depth sensor, all paired up with Hasselblad color profiles, HDR 8k, video capabilities and a ton of great shooting modes features and settings which I'm looking forward to putting to the test on the OnePlus 9 pro. However, things get bumped up a couple of notches here with a quad lens setup.

You get a similar 48, megapixel main lens and 50 megapixels ultrawide, but also included here, is an 8 megapixel telephoto lens, along with a 2 megapixel depth sensor, and that telephoto lens really opens up some interesting possibilities with portrait shooting and three times optical zoom, with up to 30 times, digital zoom. Of course, the same great 8k, video capabilities, 4k, shooting at up to 120, fps, Hasselblad, color settings once again, HDR and just a ton of other great stuff. Now I will say that, since these phones have been out, they have already received. I think a couple of software updates already to improve the cameras, and I'm really looking forward to putting them to the test in the coming days to see what kind of improvements are here and what these cameras are capable of, because really out of everything else about these two phones. It is these camera setups that OnePlus, I think, has highlighted the most and as far as everything else with these OnePlus devices, these are very much flagship phones, and they're, actually very similar in their specs and capabilities.

So inside both phones are powered by the new snapdragon 888 5g chipset you get either 128 or 256 gigs of internal storage and either 8 or 12 gigs of ram. So absolutely powerhouse devices with all the latest high-end specs that'll be able to handle anything and everything you throw at them. Obviously they ship with android 11 and the latest oxygen and OS update for a fast and seamless user experience, and I think, honestly, one of the reasons people still choose OnePlus devices over the competition is that software experience. It remains, in my opinion, one of the best android setups out of the box, also powering these phones are 500 William batteries in each that's a decent size. But really the icing on the cake here is the ridiculous charging speeds, both wired and wireless, with the OnePlus 9 pro 65 watt fast charging with that included wall, plug that I mentioned earlier, and I can literally juice up your phone from zero to a hundred percent in 30 minutes, which is just crazy and there's also the new 50 watt wireless charging capabilities as well on the OnePlus 9 pro, which can charge up the phone 100 from zero in just 45 minutes wirelessly.

All in all, these phones have just a fantastic setup for charging, and you'll. Be spending practically no time at all plugged in also speaking of the wireless charging capabilities here is that new 50 watt wireless fast charger. This is available for about 70 dollars. Right now and, like I said it's, the OnePlus 9 pro that'll actually support the higher faster charging standard, but you can still use this charger with a regular, OnePlus, 9 or any other device you might have as well just at lower speeds. This is a charging stand, so it sits upright, which is kind of nice.

You can get a look at what's on your phone, if it's on your desk, there's even cooling, underneath it a little led indicator to let you know when it's plugged in and charging a phone all in all just a great little new product, specifically for OnePlus 9, pro owners looking to get the most out of their new device. So there you go. Those are my initial thoughts and first impressions at least on these new OnePlus 9 devices. Like I said, I'm really looking forward to putting these phones to the test in the coming days with some camera comparisons, especially to see what they're capable of. But what do you guys think about the new OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro? Are these a couple of devices that you are considering right now?
