OnePlus 9 5G Real User Review: Not Perfect But I Love It. Here's A Few Reasons Why!

Hey guys welcome back to another video with LIM reviews today we're here to talk a little more about the OnePlus 9 that I have been using for almost two to three weeks now and in this video. It's just going to be me sharing with you, my true honest opinions, uh think of it as a long term review as an actual user of the OnePlus 9 5g, now bear in mind that my device right here is the non-pro version and, to be honest, I love this device quite a lot, but there's a couple of things that I also want to highlight so in this video, if you're thinking whether you should still buy the OnePlus 9 today, maybe my experience can help you out a little more in explaining what to expect from this device right here all right, so let's just jump into it straight away, uh. Obviously, my device here is the black version, so I just want to start off with talking a little about the price back here in Malaysia, I'm not sure where your region is, but in Malaysia we have the OnePlus 9 here for rm3699 and to be honest, that is a pretty steep price for this device right here. Everyone didn't expect it to be that high if it were a bit lower. I would think that this device here would have offered a lot more value. Uh bear in mind that the pro version is a couple of hundred more, so that might be more worth it uh.

If you ask me, but yeah, let's go to focus on this OnePlus 9 here the standard version in terms of my personal use, day-to-day use, I'm not going to bore you with all the specifications, because you probably already know that so in terms of using it on a day-to-day use. How does it feel like to use this device? First up, I want to talk a little about the build quality and how it feels like to use this device. So another thing uh one thing I did like about the design was: I like the fact that we have this a pretty flat camera bump here. It's not a big one at the back here, as you can see, but what I didn't really like about this was the uh, the fact that it feels like a mid-range device to me. So that is one thing that I'm not too fond of uh.

Of course, I think if it came in a different color that might be a totally different experience, but here on this device right here it does look like a mid-ranger, and I spoke to a couple of my friends as well. Whenever they see this, they also thought that this is like a mid-range device, but as soon as you get to use it guys um, my experience has been very pleasant with using this device. So, for example, we have a very nice and smooth display here, 120hz, of course, display gets very bright. It is also very vibrant plenty of contrast, levels and saturation levels. I have nothing to complain about this display right here.

It is a very nice display if you use a suitable wallpaper. You might get a very nice experience as well, something like this very contrast and saturated uh. One thing I did notice was that I had a poll on YouTube and apparently a lot of you guys actually watch a lot of videos on your smartphone, so the display here is actually very important, and the good news here is that you won't be disappointed by the display on the OnePlus 9 right here. So very, very nice display here no complaints whatsoever. All right.

The next thing I want to talk about here is the sensitivity of this display. So, as a gamer myself, I do play a lot of mob legends. I know some of you guys play other games, but meme personally, I have to admit I spend most of my days playing mobile legends here and so far it has been a pretty uh decent experience. So, in terms of gaming right, one thing you need to know is that it does get very sensitive for the screen, so it's very nice to play games on this device right here. Another thing you need to know here is that the processor, as well as the ram here, is definitely enough for you to actually have a decent gaming experience.

I would say decent, but actually it's very good. The good news here is that the device does not heat up that much. I know there is a hitting issue with the snapdragon 888, but using it for gaming wise. I have no complaints, of course, if you're playing games, more graphic, intensive games like gen chin impact and all that surely it'll take a little toll on the heat at the back here, but that's not what I was playing. So I have to be frank with you.

I don't experience overheating on my device at all, all right, so day-to-day use apart from gaming, just using your Instagram Facebook and all that, like I said, we generally use our phones, the most just to browse the internet. For example, you know browsing for lots of stuff, for example, I always check out the news- and this is my favorite- go to website right here. So this is the news it's taking a little while to load up, but otherwise it is very nice to use. Apart from that, we also have my Instagram right here launches up pretty quick, not too slow as well very fast. Actually, if you notice everything is very fluid and smooth on the device itself, so Facebook as well, I can go into that.

Of course, you can just continue browsing. I don't really browse a lot of Facebook, but I must say that it has always been a very smooth experience browsing my social media on this device right here. So that's definitely a plus point right there so, overall in terms of just using it on a daily guys. If you're using this as your main device uh, you play a moderate kind of games, you do a lot of social media. You watch a lot of videos.

It is actually a very pleasant experience here, because everything is just very smooth, and I have no legs whatsoever on this device. So one thing I did I do need to point out, though, is that the haptics engine on this OnePlus 9 is actually quite nice to use. You do have these very tiny vibrations all over the display whenever you do some interactions with the device- and I think uh, it does come with a pretty decent haptic engine right here, uh, definitely not like those cheap, uh or lower price kind of devices where the vibration, just you know, doesn't make you feel comfortable at all, but for this it actually does feel pretty good. So I would say that in terms of the haptics, it's definitely a plus point over there. Next thing I want to talk a little about.

Is the speakers on this device, so it does get pretty loud. We have dual stereo speakers, not sure if you can see it on the camera right here all right. So let me just show you a very quick example right here: uh, let's check out one of these uh non-copyright music here, so you just have a clue on how it sounds like turn off my Bluetooth, and you should get it right. There, so this is about an arm's length from myself, so uh. So in my opinion, the sound does sound, pretty good audio quality wise is pretty stellar.

We have decent bass, and it doesn't vibrate that much on the back, which I really appreciate some devices. When you pump up the volume it does vibrate at the back, then it gets pretty annoying, but that doesn't really happen with the OnePlus 9 right here. So overall, again, like I said on daily use, entertainment use and just listening to this music here is actually a pretty good experience all right now. I want to jump very quickly into the cameras as well at the back here, like I said, we do have a 48 megapixel main sensor and a 50 megapixel wide. This last sensor here is a 2 megapixel monochrome or something like that which, to be honest, I didn't use at all.

So I'm just going to focus my experience with the main sensor and the ultrawide. Now, a lot of you guys are saying that uh, the Hasselblad brand here is being overrated or that the pictures coming out from this device right here doesn't do it just this. So, yes, the sensor is from the previous OnePlus 8 pro, but what the Hasselblad thing is here to do is to fix that color correction. So, personally, based on my experience like I said, I do take a lot of photos outdoors indoors. I even did one underwater, so you can see the samples here guys.

In my opinion, it does really come with a very nice color correction. It is not too saturated. I will put it this way. Sometimes, when you need an extra punch in colors, it does deliver the job there and other times when you don't want it to look that saturated it does the job well too, so it is very smart and calculating the algorithms right there and getting the right levels of color in your photos, as you can see from these photos right here as well. So, overall, my understanding on this uh device right here in terms of the camera performance, I love it.

I, like the experience coming out from this device right here. I like the cameras, so you can see if you do take these photos one step further and try to edit them, and you can get some really nice results and, of course, uh. You have to take some proper photos to be able to get the maximum out of your device itself. Trust me guys. Uh, the OnePlus 9 here does a pretty good job, and I am still very impressed with the kind of photos that are coming out from this device right here, all right.

So in terms of videos uh, unfortunately, I can't say the same uh. The videos coming out from this device right here is uh. I would say it's a mid-range at best. You can't compare it to like the iPhones or the Samsung Galaxy s21, and all that, so it's not really meant for video. I also noticed that it is missing the is we only have as in here.

To be honest, stabilization is quite good here with the as, but the overall video quality is not that great in terms of color for your skin tones and all that it kind of misses out on that as well. So, if you're thinking of buying a device like this to shoot videos, I think this might not be the right device for you, but if you take a lot of daily photos here and there, and you like to do a little of editing to get the best picture or the best feel out of that photo uh, you might actually still check out the OnePlus 9 right here all right. Last but not least, let's talk a little about the battery because we have a 4 500 William battery in the back here. So like the numbers suggest, it's not a huge battery right here. What you do get is a one day, definitely a one-day kind of battery on a single charge with the OnePlus 9 right here.

You can't really go more than one day unless you really use your phone sparingly without many notifications me personally, I did notice that, based on my use case here, I was only able to get one day max and the charger in the box does charges up pretty quick but yeah. I would have hoped that it came with a 5000mah battery so that I could just get at least like two days of battery life on a one plus nine right here, okay guys. So that is my experience with the OnePlus 9. Overall. Would I recommend it to you, or would I say, do I like this device? No doubt I do like this device guys, apart from the price being too high for that matter, and apart from the fact that it does still look and feel like a mid-range device.

I do hope that I had a different color right here, because that would fix that, but overall the user experience itself just using it on a daily the display, the good cameras. Everything was really pleasant. Guys, I'm really happy and impressed with this device right here and if I were to say that if price wasn't an issue, yes, I would still recommend everyone. The OnePlus, 9. Uh, there's one thing that you can't hate about the OnePlus 9 and that is the or the UI for that matter, because there's just so little bloat, and it looks very close to stock android, and it's just a very nice experience using this kind of uh UI here on the OnePlus 9.

So that's definitely a huge plus point here for the OnePlus 9. , all right, guys, um. Let me know what you think about this device here. Are you considering buying the OnePlus 9? I hope you enjoyed this pretty blunt and straight to the point kind of video review of my OnePlus 9 right here and if you do have any further questions, feel free to leave them down. In the comment section below, I love to hear your thoughts, and I'll see you guys in the next one bye.
