OnePlus 8T 5G (Aquamarine Green, 8GB RAM, 128GB Storage)

The OnePlus 8t recently made its debut and sits firmly between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 pro that was launched in April. The 8t offers a clean and smooth experience that OnePlus smartphones are known, for it has an upgraded feature set that includes the addition of 120 hertz, refresh rate 65 watt fast charging, with the phone running on oxygen, OS 11 that is based on android 11. The on paper spec sheet does look into with the new features, but is it enough for the OnePlus 8t to prove itself in the smartphone space we find out in this performance review of the OnePlus 8t, the OnePlus 8t draws its power from the Qualcomm snapdragon 865 processors, under the hood, as the company did not opt for the slightly enhanced snapdragon 865 plus chip that was announced in the second half of the year. This means that you can largely expect the same if not better performance from the 8t, our benchmark, scores and real-world performance results are also in line with this, but we'll get there in a moment. OnePlus is offering the 8t with up to 12, GB lpddr4x ram and up to 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, while the UFS storage standard is definitely an upgrade. The 8t goes back to using lpddr4x ram instead of the lpddr5 module used, both on the OnePlus 8 and the 8 pro.

This is something that might disappoint a lot of OnePlus fans, as it feels like a compromise, which is what you'll notice when comparing the performance numbers to the OnePlus 8. , the OnePlus 8t managed to score 581 953 points on an tutu benchmarking test, which is more than what the OnePlus 8 managed to get over at geek bench. The 80 was awarded 3045 points in multi-core tests and 881 points in single core test. These geek bench scores are slightly lower than what the OnePlus 8 was able to manage, and the return to lpddr4x ram module is likely. The reason behind this.

Having said that, we use the OnePlus 8t a lot during our test process and its overall performance is actually a testament to the fact that benchmark scores can't always be taken at face value, and it's best to verify them with real-world tests. To get the full picture, the OnePlus 8t showed no significant signs of stress and is smooth in day-to-day use, with apps opening at lightning speed. During our gaming sessions, we played Call of Duty mobile at length on the 8th and the gameplay. Experience remains top-notch, as it doesn't heat up excessively like the OnePlus 8 pro. We also kept a track of performance metrics, while gaming through game bench and the phone received a 100 frame rate stability running constantly at 60 fps.

This means that the OnePlus 8t is as fast as it gets when it comes to gaming without breaking a sweat. The OnePlus 8 is anyway, a fast phone and going by this year's standards, the 80 refines it further with the addition of the 120 hertz, refresh rate mode. That makes everything slightly smoother than before. The display is also not curved like on the OnePlus 8 series, which comes in handy. If you play a lot of games on the phone as it increases the surface area for quickly moving around OnePlus 8t is also one of the first phones to come packaged with the new oxygen OS 11 out of the box with features like the always on ambient display, zen mode 2.0 and a new design. The phone feels powerful and is just as smooth as ever before, and we think oxygen.

Os is really one of the best android skins available right now. Overall, the OnePlus 8t offers a superior performance than the competition in the premium smartphone segment. The 8t is a super snappy phone that brings in some upgrades to the table without hampering the usability or the functionality to create what is easily one of the best android experiences out there. So that was a brief performance review of the OnePlus 8t. Thanks for watching.
