OnePlus 7 Pro 5G - Unboxing & SPEED Test

(energetic electronic music) - What's up, guys? Saf here on on SuperSaf TV, and we've got a very special unboxing for you guys today. Here is the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G on EE. Now this, I believe, is one of the first videos of the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G in the world, so a thumbs-up for that would be appreciated. Let's get straight to the unboxing, now, the OnePlus 7 Pro is gonna be the first device in the UK that supports 5G, and EE is the first network rolling out 5G from today. The box is a little bit different to what we had on the OnePlus 7, we do have this blue sleeve here which says, The future is in this box. Get ready to become one of the first members of the 5G community.

The seven here as well is in the blue, and then we've got Pro 5G. Right, let's go ahead and get this open. Here we are. Now, the unboxing experience is very similar to what we had on non-5G OnePlus 7 Pro, so we've got a clear case, we've got some paperwork, we've got some OnePlus stickers, and an invitation letter, SIM card, ejector tool, a USB Type 8, USB Type C cable, which is in red, as well as a 30-watt Warp charger, which is very, very fast. Let's now get to the device and remove the plastic.

(plastic rustling) And we have that beautiful nebula blue. I gotta say, this is probably my favorite color on a smartphone right now. And you'll notice right away that the design is identical to the non-5G OnePlus 7 Pro. The biggest difference here at the back being that the OnePlus logo also now has a 5G symbol right next to it. Another thing thing to note is that the 7 Pro 5G edition is only gonna be available in this nebula blue color.

The non-5G edition is available in a blue, black, and will also be available in an almond color. The 7 Pro 5G is also he same from the front, so we have that beautiful 6.67-inch fluid OLED QualHD-plus display. And I gotta say, this is definitely one of the best, if not the best display on the market right now. Bezels are so, so small. The biggest thing for me is the 90 hz refresh rate, makes everything so, so smooth.

And that's gonna be especially useful with the 5G connectivity. Now notice that the 5G edition does have this new wallpaper, which looks really quite slick, it goes from a purple to a sort of teal. This wallpaper is not available on the non-5G edition. Now, what makes these devices different is on the inside. The 5G edition does have Qualcomm's X50 modem, alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, and that is what's gonna enable 5G.

Also, the 5G edition is only gonna be available with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.0 storage. But apart from that, everything is the same as what we've got in the OnePlus 7 Pro, so we do have the stereo speakers, we've got the in-display fingerprint scanner, which is super fast. There's the popup 16-Megapixel front-facing camera with an F2.0 aperture, and we've got the same triple away-facing camera setup, and that includes the primary 48-Megapixel sensor with an F1.6 aperture, a telephoto camera, which is gonna give you up to three times optical zoom at 8 Megapixels, as well as a 16-Megapixel ultrawide camera, with a 117-degree angle of view. Now, if you wanna see how this camera stacks up against the competition, I have done a SuperSaf style camera comparison of the OnePlus 7 Pro versus the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, you can check out that camera comparison in the cards and in the description. Now, what about the battery? Well, you still have the same size battery, 4,000 mAh, now, it's gonna be interesting to see how well this performs in terms of battery life because of the X50 modem, is that gonna be more taxing? These are things I'm gonna have to find out.

Now, 5G, I did get a chance to do an early test with EE in Covent Garden, London. Of course, it's being rolled out, 5G is, so I can't review it as yet, but we were able to get speeds of around 500 megabits a second download, which is very impressive. And to compare it to 4G, I did try downloading a video file, which was around 900 megabytes, and on the 5G edition, it was saying around one to two minutes, whereas on 4G, it would have taken around six to eight minutes. Now, once again, I wanna emphasize that these are very early speeds, the network is still in its infancy, and I actually got a preview of it, so it still needs to be configured and rolled out. Now, there's three main aims for OnePlus and EE when it comes to 5G.

Firstly, speed, of course, we're downloading so much more these days, and especially with this 90 hz display, if you wanna watch 4K HDR content and you wanna download that, then you are gonna be needing that super fast speed. Secondly is to reduce congestion. So we're using so many more devices these days and things can get congested, so having 5G should help with that. And thirdly is to reduce latency. Of course, you want minimal latency, especially if you're streaming or streaming a game, even, and these are things that 5G is gonna be aiming to help out with.

Once again, I do have to emphasize that it's very early stages for 5G, it's just been launched today, so things will get better and improve as time goes forward, but, for me, things do look very, very promising. What about you guys? Definitely let me know in the comments below if you're gonna be picking up a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, and if you're gonna be one of the early adopters on EE with 5G. I hope you enjoyed this video and found it useful. If you did, then do hit that thumbs-up button for me, and if you haven't already, then be sure to subscribe and hit that bell icon, so you don't miss any further coverage. Thanks for watching, this is Saf on SuperSaf TV.

I'll see you next time! Congested, congested, oh, man. Congested, congested, congested.
