Nubia RedMagic 6 is a Beast!πŸ”₯ Best Value Gaming Smartphone? [REVIEW]

One of the best gaming phones of the year, this is the Nubia red magic 6. , the best of android hardware paired with a cooling fan and one of the fastest displays in the industry time to expect hey everybody welcome back nice to meet you. My name is Michael. What we do here is to inspect cool tech and by the way this is the new red magic 6. This is the latest gaming phone by Nubia and in my opinion this goes far beyond just a gaming smartphone because it has tricks up its sleeve in pretty much every component, but this is where Nubia are most focused on, and I think concerning price performance ratio and all the features that you get. This is probably the best value phone for gamers in 2021, but I have a few minutes to prove that point.

But first let me tell you what is unique about it. We'll talk about the display, because it's the display with the fast refresh rate ever more unique, is the fact what it has inside now. There's one phenomenon that pretty much every smartphone maker is fighting and this is called CPU throttling, and this is the thing that happens when the CPU is running at the maximum speed, and it reaches certain temperature threshold, and after it reaches this threshold, the operating system tells the CPU hey. You know start working at a lower rate, and this is when hiccups, glitches and sometimes skip frames would begin to occur. Now, there's only one way to overcome this limitation- and this is by adding proper cooling and most smartphone makers have been pretty innovative about that multi-layer, graphite or vapor chamber or liquid cooling.

But the truth is that nothing can beat the active cooling that you can achieve with a fan, and it's pretty easy to add on a computer or probably a laptop, but placing an active fan inside a smartphone is a real deal, and this is one of the very few that offer this kind of setup. Actually, I don't really know if there's another phone except the previous generation of the red magic 6, and it's the one which is responsible for keeping the system on chip inside at least 16 degrees than the average temperature of the competition which pretty much avoids any possibility of getting into throttling. This is a huge advantage, especially compared to the latest ASUS rock phone, because with the ASUS device, the fan is actually an accessory here, it's a feature, and you have a slider to control it. So obviously the red magic 6 is going to find the best flagships of this year and mostly the ASUS rock 5 and the latest black shark edition by Xiaomi to get the crown best gaming phone of 2021. There are two versions of this smartphone.

Let me remove the case and by the way, a very interesting case. So you have the pro and the non-pro version. Both look identical with the difference that this version does regular one. It has 12 gigs of ram. The pro can go up to 18 gigs of ram and 512 storage, which is quite remarkable, but in any case both of them would have very similar performance.

Therefore, I believe the gnome pro edition is the much better value package unboxing. This device was fine good design on the box with colors that are well reflecting the scope of the phone's strengths. I can't say the box materials were anywhere near impressive, but honestly, I don't think we should care about that too much, because once you reach the device and grab it in your hand, things are getting pretty serious. Obviously the phone comes out. First, there is an included protective case in the box, and this is the retail box.

Indeed, the case has indeed an interesting shape. It's a bumper case, but has most of the bug cart cut out because of the gold to have better heat disposal, included a charging cable and the charger which is 30 watt here. So obviously we're covering just half of the full 66 watt potential for wired charging. This would get the phone's battery back to full within less than 40 minutes. With this charger, though, it's going to take longer we're, of course, going to see some more gameplay, but let me first cover the specs, the top-end snapdragon chipset, triple eight paired with 12 gigs of ram.

The pro version can actually reach up to 18 and that's mind-blowing, 128 or 256 gigs of storage up to 512 for the pro version. There's a 6.8 inch, AMOLED screen with 165hz refresh rate, there's a triple camera system on the back, there's an active fan inside the phone and a headphone jack and most of the latest communication protocols and yeah the 5050 William hour battery. All of that is running android 11 with the Nubian custom, skin called red magic 4-0, so specs are brilliant for a gaming phone. I can see her two massive strengths: the fact that there's active cooling inside the phone, because looking at the much more expensive, ASUS rock series, it's a separate accessory. The other great strength is the display it's the fastest AMOLED ever installed on the phone for the two weeks.

This phone is with me. I've already witnessed how Nubia are improving the performance of the display. I think the colors and the contrast are now a lot better as compared to before the last update, which was still kind of good. Furthermore, I believe the color balance on Samsung s21, for instance, is a bit better, but that's mostly up to your own taste, whether you prefer warmer to saturated colors or not. The red magic 6 is very well tuned, and it's a pleasure to use the interface is super.

Responsive looks like animations are a bit shorter than usual, which gives you the sense of snappiness and subjectively that this phone is faster than most other similar phones to the rest of the hardware. Advantages build quality, which is also fantastic, having metal center frame glass back cover and aviation grade aluminum among the most interesting parts, the shoulder triggers, which for some games are a brilliant idea, and it has a lot. Your gaming experience. Let's go on with some synthetic testing. Anti-2 is a great multi-platform benchmark.

Apparently the phone is well-trained to recognize certain apps and as soon as you open, android 2. The fan goes on automatically because of that you can look at the graphics, no stuttering whatsoever under 2 right now is ruled by the 16 gig edition of the ROK phone 5, which is close to 731 being dethroned by OnePlus 9 pro with 765 000. The red magic 6 test brought a result of 832 000, which is well-being close to seven percent faster than the fastest one plus device, and that's quite remarkable in real life experience. The performance is pretty much as good, and the good news is that you can count on the full CPU performance during the whole time. Yes, probably that's going to consume a little more battery, because usually batteries are anyways not performing well when they get too hot, and since we have good cooling here, that's kind of compensating and making up for the greater power consumption and the other good advantage is that whatever you do is going to be completed much faster.

So the first thing I've tried was to try encoding a video if the phone gets into a throttling condition, something that, with my daily driver, I experienced pretty much after 5 seconds. The encoding speeds are getting much lower in terms of throttling. By the way we have to give credits to OnePlus, 9 pro and also looking at the ASUS ROG 5, which even without a fan, is rock solid. After this more synthetic examples, let's get to see some more real gameplay, most of ASU's rock phone supporters are going to claim that most games are not optimized for 165hz display. However, the amount of those is growing and even popular titles, like real racing 3, are already benefiting from such a fast refresh rate.

I guess more games are going to follow soon, even if your favorite game is capped at 144hz. That would be good enough. Well, this is not the brightest or the best panel. I've ever seen it's among the perfect ones and provides excellent gaming experience. Colors are more natural, and while there is no hdr10 plus official certification, it's still pretty great.

The touch responsiveness is also crazy, fast 500hz single finger sampling rate and 360. If it's multifinger, if you're not quite sure what these terms are- meaning, probably that's something that won't impress you that much, but for the record it's really a great thing. However, based on Alex feedback here, the rock phone's responsiveness is a bit better, and you can clearly hear that the sound on the ASUS device is just crazy good. Now, after so much praising about the refresh rate and the performance, let's look into the rest of the features, because, at the end of the day this is a smartphone. It has a camera.

A triple setup looks good shoots, good, it's not as good as the m11 ultra or the s21 ultra, but for a camera on a gaming oriented phone. It's doing pretty well, there's no optical image stabilization, but the electronic image stabilization, which is software stabilization, based on gyro input, not worse than most other flagships. Don't forget that major part of the good results are thanks to the advanced AI processing on the snapdragon 8. The main camera is backed by a 64 megapixel Samsung image sensor, and it can make good photos even at night. Battery life is decent phone quality.

Is great, the phone has a dual sim tray supports 5g and has enough space for tons of photos, videos and games in the end, if I make some room for criticism and constructive suggestions, the OS very fluids close to stock android I'd, add some more features to the launcher and would also change a little the look of the settings menu. On the other hand, nobody has this awesome themes, engine beautiful gaming, style themes, awesome, colors and animations, and this fantastic toolbar, which appears should you swipe when you're in gaming mode by the way, there's another feature that red magic 6 has and is quite exciting, the 4d vibration, something I think every passionate gamer should be able to feel not each and every game supports it, but most shooters do to the rest of the drawbacks. Maybe the last one offering a 66 watt charger inside the box would have been a great thing, but I will understand the decision to put the budget friendlier 30 watt charger. I don't think there's anything else that Nubia could have done better well for the records. No waterproof rating, no micros slots some camera remarks, but if we focus on the performance and the consistently awesome results and relatively cool CPU, I think we have just explored the best gaming phone of the year and yes, I do think this is the Nubia red magic six.

If your primary goal is pure performance for a given price, it seriously undercuts the closest competitors. If we take the ASUS rock, for instance, it happens to be kind of 400 bucks cheaper than that. But, of course, if we look at the whole picture and think about all the connections that aces have with gaming studios about the nice accessories, probably the ASUS rock 5 is also well justified purchase. Maybe you can, let me know what you think and which one would you prefer the Nubia red, magic, 6 or ASUS rogue line, or something else just comment below its interesting to see. Would you sacrifice a bit of camera quality in favor of uninterrupted gaming fun, or you would prefer to have the whole pack of possibly accepting some throttling during some games and enjoying the best cameras in the world? So, let's go and develop all that in the comment section below it would be really nice if you subscribe to the channel so that we can see each other in the next episode.

Of course, some samples from the camera I'm going to link in the description below as well as a link to the best deal. I managed to find for you about the red magic 6 and if you have any questions I'll keep an eye on the comments. Take good care of yourself thanks a lot for watching this episode, and I'll see you in the next one bye.
