Nubia Red Magic 6 Review - Crazy 165Hz AMOLED Gaming Display

Hey guys welcome back to the channel in today's video we're going to review the brand-new red, magic, 6 and, of course, we're also going to talk about the red magic 6 pro, since these are considered to be the only devices on the market with 165hz refresh rate. This is TK, and this is data. So here we have it the brand new red magic. Six now there are two versions: there's the six and the six pro, and I'll talk about the differences when we get down to those specific specifications. The one thing I will mention, though, even though you see the word Tencent edition here, this is actually the international model that enables us to actually have the Google Play Store. So everything is actually running the international ROM, even though this is the Tencent edition version of it uh.

The cameras that we have on the back here is a turbo camera setup, a 64, a primary shooter, 8, megapixel, ultrawide and 2 megapixel macro lens. We have an 8 megapixel front facing camera. We can go all the way up to 8k 24 frames per second, we have a 5050 milliampere battery. That is built in now. The 10 cent edition will include a 66 watt charger in the box.

The international model does not. It includes a 33 watt charger you're able to pick up the 66 watt directly from red magic or any compatible quick charge.5.0 from Qualcomm that supports all the way up to 100 watts will support the 66 watt charging so definitely very nice, again, 5000 milliamperes, no wireless charging. We have two LEDs, or basically RGB ones, lights on the back, as well as the logo that lights up, and we'll get into that the material between this one and the pro is that the pro has more heat conducive material, almost looking more like there's a silver color, but as far as the standard edition, this is pretty much what it looks like again. We have the dual tone led flash on the top. Furthermore, we have a headphone jack and one of the microphones on the right.

Furthermore, we have the exhaust opening here for the air that is built into the fan uh. Of course, we also have a power button. One of the microphones. There is a built-in fan. It's one of the unique things of the red magic brand that enables it to pull in air from the right and then exhaust it from the left to cool the CPU, of course, for extended gaming sessions and overall usage.

So that's something that's built in on the bottom. We have a bottom firing speaker, USB microphone in the bottom firing speaker married to the earpiece, provides us that stereo experience and, of course, a dual sim tray, providing us 5g connectivity internationally. The last thing I want to mention here again: we have the volume, rocker and, of course, the gaming switch, which is definitely colored in red, so that we can switch into gaming mode and standard launcher mode without having to do anything on the software. Just flip a switch, and you're able to jump in directly a built-in and display fingerprint sensor as well as a screen, locking, so he's definitely right there. I have the display running right now at 165 hertz, although you're able to set it depending on your preference, 60, 90, 120 or 65.

Definitely I love to keep it on the highest resolution so that we get the best experience. So we go here. You can definitely see how fast the experience is, as opposed to when we actually switch over to let's say a 60 hertz refresh rate, which is what we see on some other smartphones, and you can see here how it doesn't actually flow as fluid. So that's one thing to keep in mind, so I like to keep it at 165 all the time and again, 5000 milliamperes should be able to handle all of that. It is running basically red magic OS for version 4.0 on top of android 11. So we go under about phone right.

There version 4.0 uh the model that I have has the snapdragon 888 12 gigs of ram 128 gigs of internal storage. The pro model has the same processor, 16, gigs of ram and 256 gigs of internal storage. So that's another thing that they also do on the pro version, but as far as the optics you're getting the same experience overall and again red magic OS version 4.0. Now we have the Google feed sitting on the left. I have one of my themes set up here directly within the customizations.

This is cyberpunk, but everything else pretty much runs simply now to be able to get into gaming. The only thing you need to do is literally flip a switch, and that jumps us straight into the red magic gaming experience. Now. One thing that I will probably say here: you'll notice, there's a turbo button fan here or the turbofan button, as well as a RGB light. Now the turbofan automatically turns on whenever we get into the gaming.

So that's the fan, that's built in here running the air from the right to the left and, of course it goes in automatic mode. So as the consumption or the need goes higher, the fan will go up higher to match that and that helps cool the CPU, the RGB light or the LED here. Definitely you can see it right there. It's blinking on the top and bottom and the logo is consistent because I actually set that up in the settings. There's a section there for that under profile.

We need to jump in here customize the different experiences check out uh. You know basically, images uh or actually screenshots uh. We installed PUBG Call of Duty engine impact CSR racing two uh geek bench, we'll get into that in a second shadow knights, real racing three um. Obviously, donkey is there and that trigger two and the last game, of course, that I installed was real racing, which is a rear racing three that gives us the ability playing at 165 hertz now within the gaming system, you're able to customize the different experiences by going in on the right. So you swipe from the right: let's go and hit okay, so on the right side, you're able to swipe, and you're also able to turn off the fan, adjust the brightness check out the CPU and GPU performance, customize, the GPU and CPU performance from either auto mode, GPU, turbo, CPU, turbo or super performance and, of course, we're able to customize other parts of the actual gaming experience.

So shoulder triggers, you click them. You turn them on directly within the game. I have them customized to basically uh pull up the uh. Basically, a scope as well as fire, and, of course you can have to set the sensitivity here. We have 165 hertz with this 1080p panel 6.8 inch display, but a 500 hertz touch sampling rate, and you're able to set that directly for each game. So definitely simple, and it does remember it for every game that you set up, so you don't have to worry about resetting it up multiple times.

I do have basically aiming assistance setup in here we have small window again: macro, recording the ability of recording video well, the screen recording of the videos and the game that we're doing and, of course, charge. Separation is one of the really cool things that I'm sorry and, of course, charge separation, which allows us to actually play games on the phone while using external power without charging the battery reducing the excess heat or generation from the system. Because, as you charge your phone that typically generate heat and if you're playing games on it on top of that with the bright display, you could definitely overheat the device and this one it allows you to actually control it. Unfortunately, it does not work unless you have power connected, so that's something to keep in mind. Last thing, as I mentioned to you guys, we have the ability of changing basically the super snap blocking calls, and even within the system here, you can customize the experience between 60 all the way to 165 hertz, depending on the games and the developers.

Not all games are going to basically support 165 hertz and again, when you want to get out of this, go back to standard mode. You just flip the switch it takes you back in uh. It does leave the game in pop-up window if you want to keep it there and if you jump into a game accidentally without being in the gaming mode, it's just simple turn it on afterwards and all the functions will actually work. For you quite nicely, google feed on the left super. Obviously the app drawer is on the bottom um.

It does come with. Google Play Services international ROM here now this little cooler that we have on the side is their new dual-core. Well, dual-core cooler, because it features two fans as well as RGB lights, to provide us cooling on the smartphone. Now what I like about it is it actually works very nicely with the smartphone, and it actually typically will mount in the middle of the phone. Not at the top.

One thing to keep in mind is not to block the vents that we have on both sides of the smartphone and actually provides pretty decent cooling from a passive cooling, essentially running two fans: cooling, the two areas at the top and bottom, to provide that cooling to the smartphone. Although the center fan is primarily the one sitting right on top of the CPU, so that will give us the best experience. As far as temperatures I was hitting about 117 Fahrenheit about 47 degrees Celsius, which is typically warm, but again at least it's providing us that heat dissipation, that we expect, and it does actually keep overall. The experience very nicely the trigger buttons that we have here. The air triggers are up to 400 touch, sampling and again customizable within the game.

As far as the actual camera application standard mode, you're able to get different options in here, so you know multiple exposure I'd photo phantom freeze-frame zoom blur a lot of them are basically software enabled pro mode photo. Video 8k, 34, 24 frames per second on the back uh and, of course, 1080p 30 on the front night mode and, of course, portrait mode uh. The camera experience, I would probably say, is not exactly the best experience, but I would say this: this is definitely focused on gaming and content consumption with a decent camera experience. So video calls taking pictures on the go. You know.

Casual pictures you're definitely not going to be disappointed, although I would definitely say that this is definitely not the main focus of the smartphone. This is definitely gaming and content consumption first next whistle in 10 seconds. Okay. What do we have here now when it comes down to gaming and, of course, thermals the red magic? Six, as you guys saw, and the six pro provide us a good experience. That built-in fan mechanism is something that only made magic shows up and, of course, now having the additional cooler option that we actually have with the two coolers works really nicely.

I do want to mention, though, that most of the heat is generally present right behind the camera sensors, where the other coolers built in, so the built-in one will work, and the two additional coolers that we have in here will work much better in the center and provides us actually a much better cooling system there when it comes down to actual content consumption. The large display the great stereo speakers and, of course, the headphone jack, provide us not only great audio but also zero lag. So if you ever have any problems playing games, the headphone jacks are going to work great, a 5, 000 milliampere battery 165 hertz, no question that this battery will last you a long time and if you do want to use power without charging the battery, we do have that feature built in the gaming system that enables us to actually just run the phone on power without charging the battery reducing the chance of overheating. The smartphone, if you want to play an extended session and not necessarily lose power when it comes down to the camera experience, I think overall, the red magic, 6 and the 6 pro are providing us a decent experience. It's not going to be the best.

I think this is definitely a gaming and content consumption focused device and as long as you go into that, with that expectation you don't you definitely won't be disappointed. So, at the end of the day, let me know in the comments below, but what do you think about the red, magic, 6 and the red magic 6 pro again? It has slightly better specifications and a better material on the back, allowing for better heat dissipation so like and subscribe, as usual, make sure to check out my channel and, of course, I'll see you guys in the next video.
