Now & Then Tech News Episode #21 - OnePlus 9 5G - The Flagship of The Future By Now & Then Tech

What's up YouTube we're starting 2021 exactly the way we left 2020 discussing all things, tech, rumors and technology in general, and there's no better way to kick things off with the year talking about one of our potentially favorite new flagships, the OnePlus 9 from our favorite manufacturers OnePlus. So as mentioned, the new flagship from OnePlus will be called the OnePlus 9. Now, there's obviously going to be a series of devices here, but we're focusing mainly on the OnePlus 9, and it's hardly surprising, considering last year's phone was caused, one plus eight. Now there are tons of rumors leaks, etc. , etc. As you can expect, nothing can be kept secret nowadays.

So, let's round them up and see, what's what so to kick things off? Let's have a look at the leaks of, what's likely to be the OnePlus 9 coming by the way of phone arena, so they have an unnamed source who's, provided a series of images of the OnePlus 9. This isn't anything incredible to see here as you'd expect. Innovation isn't that great in a mobile space at the moment, unless you're Samsung and using folding devices, but what you will get here with OnePlus 9 is a large OLED display likely to measure around 6.5 inches at a FHD plus resolution. In addition to this, the new standard punch, hole, camera cutout is again situated to the left. The rear device is a little more interesting.

Actually so what you get here are two large sensors with a third one being likely to be a monochrome sensor. Now those main lenses will be a 48 megapixel as the main lens and an additional ultra-wide lens, which is again likely to be 48 megapixels and both will be Sony lenses and you'd expect now. The ultra shot branding is of interest here, as this could mean more feature-rich. Camera features, or it could be something to do with a zoom info on this particular bit is a bit sparse. So, let's look at the breakdown, the specs and what you can expect from the OnePlus 9 full HD, plus OLED display at 6.5 inches, as mentioned earlier 120 hertz, refresh rate, eight gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of storage, which will be the base configuration there'll, obviously be more storage options, more ram options, 4 500, William hour battery powered by snapdragon, 888 processors. So again as standard this will be a 5g device, recapping the cameras, 40 megapixels, main 48, megapixel ultrawide sensor and then likely a monochrome sensor below it with a front facing camera being 12 megapixels, there's also likely to be support for 65 watt fast charging as well, and then there's supposedly a rumor that the 30 watt fast charging as well, will also make its way here.

One of the key things that is missing with the OnePlus 9 that likely will be reserved for a pro model is an IP rating. We're not expecting this to be dust and water resistance. So let's have a look at some concepts. First, let's have a look at concept. Creators video now this gives you a full detailed breakdown of what we can expect from the device starting at the front you're looking at a slightly curved display, which again is something that maybe someone was appointing is not likely to happen.

Some people say it doesn't happen. I personally hope that it's a flat display much like the s20 Fe. Much prefer that look and feel, especially when it comes to accidental touches and other things as you'd expect. The build quality is likely to be aluminum, and you're, going to get various color finishes here as well likely to be silver black and then OnePlus will do one other color like they did on the OnePlus 8, which like to be a blue or like they did with the word, which is like that glacier blue as well. Now everything else pretty much marries up perfectly as you'd expect you're still going to get the classic OnePlus rocker on the slide, and it's going to be powered by USB and no headphone jack option as well.

Now, let's take a look at another concept, which we think is more likely to be a bit more. Accurate technical concept, however, has a slight variation on the concept when looking at concept creators video, now the look and feel and finish, is exactly going to be the same. There's not going to be any difference in that. However, one key difference here is likely that the front display of the OnePlus 9, according to technical concepts, will be flat very, very similar to what you saw on the s20 Fe with a backhand little of curvature. The front was completely flat now.

This is likely to be very, very true and rumors do point towards us, primarily because the pro model of the OnePlus 9 is likely to have the curved display, something that companies are using as more of a flagship, top tier handset, something that you'll probably see in the s21 ultra as well. But otherwise the pictures images look feel everything looks exactly the same in both renders so likely what you're seeing here is going to be the finished article and that's a quick summation of the OnePlus 9 and what we can expect.
