LG G8 ThinQ Aurora Black Unboxing and Overview

What is up guys welcome to the big unbox, where we do that small tech, and today I'm back with another big on boxing for you, and today we're back with the all new LG g8 to unbox do a quick overview as always I'll throw up the link in the video description price seems perfect append on your carrier and if you get the unlocked version, but really right now, it's around 650, which is a decent price point, I think originally their price at 850. But in the pricing really came down not even before the pre-release so check this one out. The specs are pretty much on point with you know which would expect from a flagship device. Then this one does carry the OLED screen. So this is gonna, be the first LG G series that has the OLED screen 6.1-inch screen. It's got, 128 gigs of memory looks like you got the expandable memory up to 2 terabytes, which is nice specs 35 William battery, so the processors got the 855 Snapdragon, so all the latest and greatest specs.

What you'd expect now one thing LG does terrible is releases and this one's no no doubt the same way. They really don't know how to do a launch anymore, and I'm, not even sure how they were able to launch this one. It's just really poor. You know it's not as cohesive as some other big boys. Samsung's got their stuff together.

You know even like OnePlus, really knows how to launch. So. This is just my little rant I, like their phones a lot, but the launch is definitely could come a long way so yeah little LG g8. Thank you. Branding I got the ATT version.

The back is gonna. Tell you a little more details, but what you're going to get and that's pretty much it in terms of presentation, nothing really to it. I would say they could actually upgrade their game in terms of the overall presentation for the box, I mean it's just, definitely not as quite as a premium as like Apple packaging or even OnePlus packaging or Samsung packaging. In my opinion, that's just a small gripe, but I like that. You know the whole presentation, if you're paying, that type of cash flow for a phone.

So first things first get a nice microfiber cloth. There got the LG logo so keep that around to wipe it down, wipe here's the phone itself we'll put that to the side. I did get. The black version comes in the Platinum gray as well. I like that platinum is a lot as well, but I just decided to go with the black version.

Got your literature here. Sim card ejector got your usual suspects. Literature wise, we'll put that to the side. Another thing, obviously, you know what kind of little gripes this is little gripes. Is this fact that the wireless charger this charging brick is white? Why not matching up with the phone that you get when I? If you get a white phone, you know do the white, but why not make it match with the black phone? That's just a little small gripe that I have just the fine details.

There's little added touches that I would expect from a premium phone, and again I really like LG phones, don't even get me wrong, I like them. A lot the LG g4 t- there's probably one of my favorite phones of last year's- definitely slept on by a lot of people, but not me I liked it so put that to the side. That's pretty much it let's go and get to it. Tear right into it very excited to look at this one, oh yeah, that black looks amazing I. Actually like this black a lot, let me tear off the sticker with information on it.

So very nice. This has got a very, very sleek. Look to it! Look at that black that gorgeous black got the LG logo g8 thin q. You got the triple camera set up, actually got the dual camera set up online, fingerprint sensor on the back, so they're still rocking the fingerprint sensor honestly I'm, a big fan of the fingerprint sensor, not a huge fan of in screen fingerprint sensor, so I'm actually excited to see it still stick around on this particular device. Now you can see you're still going to rock the notch, so they decided not to go against the hole, punch, they're, still rocking the notch, and I was not a crazy notch.

So it's not going to get too much in your way, but if you guys are not a fan of the notch, this one may not be for you and does have a nice premium build to it. It's actually got a little more weight than I expected. To be honest with you, it feels a little more heavy than the LGA 40, which is not some people. We know griped about being a little too lightweight. This has definitely got a little more weight to.

It feels a little more premium in terms of overall, first impressions. Let's turn it on see how quick it is load up got the LGG eight think he logo popping up powered by Android. Look at that screen. Looking beautiful this one does it's got more about it's? Definitely, not as quite as a curve look. It's got more of a know, kind of square, look to it, which is not a bad thing, but it feels really nice in the hands, which is very impressive.

For my first impressions. That's how quick it was to turn on. You can see the actual knots right there give you guys a look at that. So you guys you need all these not haters. That's definitely going to affect your viewing angle.

Is not my favorite thing in the world either. I. Definitely think the Samsung did it right with the hole punch. That's just my personal preference, but you can still see the notch right there. It's definitely not as intrusive, as you know, the pixel, 3 XL or the know, even not the iPhones or whatever.

Let me go and put my information in we'll check this one out guys and go through the OS real, quick breeze through that and just to see if it's a hit or miss, but my first impressions. It definitely feels very, and it looks beautiful look at that beautiful will get shine. G8 whew hold on guys, be right back. Alright, guys welcome back. So we got everything installed, and you can see this.

Some apps are still coming into play, but my first impression it definitely feels very snappy out of the gate. Now one thing that someone do you have to just remember this: has the LG skin on it and everybody's really not me personally, I'm, not a huge fan of the LD skins, probably my least favorite one, but obviously you can throw your own skin on their like the Nova Launcher, which is definitely probably one of the better ones. I. Just don't like there's a few gestures and stuff like that, like I, have to go to it's not preset, so you kinda have to go to that I like to swipe up, so I think you can actually change those gestures, but I prefer that out of the gate so overall, the screen, though, looks amazing. What do you guys think about that screen? That's their first OLED and I think this one actually looks very bright.

You know this was they've kind of had their issues with screens and kind of being just a little dull, but I think this one out of the gate. It's pretty bright, very natural, so I'm a pretty big fan of this screen so far at least out of the box. Now you can never tell completely because they obviously kind of fine-tune it, the wallpaper that looks the best right out of the gate now also, what I know is its kind of got a subtle curve to it on the screen definitely doesn't have a complete curve like a Samsung. This has got more of a flat-screen to it, so I'm wondering if you can be able to find a little better screw protection, because, obviously you guys know if you've had a screen protector. Getting a screen protector for a curved screen is so difficult, at least a tempered glass that hopefully this one actually will find a good one.

You can see it's not quite as curved. You see just a little subtle curve around the edges, but very nice I, like the actual shape of this one. Now again, the black right there, he kind of just transitions from this black all the way around the bumper itself. So it's very clean and refined I'll. Actually like the subtle curves around the edges as well.

It's actually got a very nice feel to it. Now this one may be kind of slip-on like all the rest of the LG phones, but I'll. Let you guys know if I like this one or not my first impressions, it definitely feels premium like the fingerprint print sensor placement. It just looks clean and overall, my first impressions I think it's going to be a hit, but I'll, let you guys know I, forgive some more use to it, and obviously we got the accessories coming for this. So if you guys have any suggestions, throw it up in the comment section we'll get to as many as possible.

Let me know what you guys think the comments is it a hit? Is it a miss hit? The subscribe button see you guys next time you.
