Latest News for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 & Active Watch 4 - New Partnerships Benefits for Users!

Hey guys welcome back to another jobber jab news update for the galaxy watch 4 as well as the active watch 4. Well, I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that the rumors that I reported on previously about a possible alliance between google and Samsung are officially now a done deal. Both companies just announced partnerships that they will in fact be sharing one platform for android and Samsung devices. Now google launched the platform back in 2014, and they even flirted with Samsung in the past, as you may recall that the gear smartwatch produced by Samsung was, in fact at least temporarily running off the Google ware operating system. Now, in addition to this, partnership with Samsung, even Fitbit is going to be joining the party. So I think there's a lot to be excited about here.

This should also make google and Samsung much more competitive when it comes to their biggest rival. That being, of course, apple by combining the tech from Samsung and the incredible app selection from Google users are going to have a lot more to choose from in terms of software and new functionality such as the recently rumored blood glucose monitoring, which may make it into the galaxy watch 4. Now the new joint platform, which is just simply being called where for now will be merging, select features from the ti zen operating system, in other words, future Samsung, smartwatches will in fact be running the where operating system instead of ti zen. Now before all current Samsung watch users freak out, it has been reported that Samsung has promised at least three years of updates for all its tizen-based devices, and it would also allow customers to export their health data, so it can be used on future devices which should provide a seamless transition for those that wish to continue to stick with Samsung and new devices that they push forward under the Wear OS. Okay, so now that it's official, you may be asking well what are some of the benefits that customers could see out of this partnership? Well, google actually answered this in a tweet yesterday, stating that we should see improvements to battery life, a 30, faster loading time for apps and device startup, as well as smoother animations now for developers.

This will also simplify the process for them, as they're all going to be working off of one platform and also have a huge increase in the number of devices and customers that will be able to access their content. So theoretically, this should also translate into a higher earning potential for developers with the spike in a substantially larger customer base. Although keep in mind, this also means that there will be more competition for them with increased offerings in the store. Now, for the users, though, it's really a win-win situation, because not only they're going to have more choices in terms of watch faces, which was the predominant asset in the galaxy app store, but you'll also have access to hundreds of thousands of apps from the wear store, and this is something that was really lacking for Samsung devices and speaking of apps, Google did say that improvements are coming for Google Maps as well as Google Assistant, which also would suggest that Bixby is probably not gonna, make the cut over to wear and, to be honest, that's not a bad thing, as I always found it to be glitchy at best now, in addition to these apps, Google Pay is also going to be redesigned and available in 26 new countries, which is quite a jump over the 11 countries currently available. YouTube music is also expected to be available on where, later on, in the year, with added flexibility of being able to download and enjoy the music to your device, while you're out and about plus with Samsung and Fitbit joining.

You should also see a big boost with health and fitness tracking technology and apps. So again, another big benefit here for customers that rely on their device to monitor their health related stats. Now, there's no official statement as to when the new Samsung smartwatches will be launched or even how much they're going to cost. But I think a good estimate would be to predict something in the range that we saw for the galaxy watch 3 when it was released, last fall and if we use Samsung's previous smartwatch launches as a gauge, then we could see the galaxy watch 4 as well as the activ4 officially unveiled sometime this summer when Samsung announces their new foldable phones, the galaxy old and flip 3 models, or we may even hear something from Google as they're planning to release more news related to the where operating system at the MWC event in Barcelona and that's scheduled to start on June.28Th. Okay, guys.
