Better paper, better thinking as a product called remarkable kind of e-reader, slash note-taker. It's an ink display with a different type of feedback. When you write on it compared to something you'd be used to like on an iPad where you're writing or drawing on glass you're, not downloading apps on it. It's not an Android tablet, because it's eat ink. Just like a Kindle e-reader. It's going to be a lot easier on your eyes as well.
Apparently it feels sort of like paper. They call it a paper tablet because they say it really feels like paper eight times. Marker tips, marker tip removal tool and quick guide. Now I got another pen over here marker signature, a new accessory and then lastly, I've got this thing here, which is a folio, the remarkable folio. This is a little carrying case.
Actually this seems pretty nice premium. Leather in the maple brown color slide the tablet in here and then the pen in the side, and you're ready to go you're taking notes, you're sketching. You know, there's something about writing still when you got the imagination going and you kind of want to explore it. There is something about the pen to paper type of feeling here it lets you do that, but then still have a file for that you can access at a later date. The tablets- oh I, should also note.
This thing is not cheap, not that you would expect it to be. I mean it's kind of a niche product and the price tag has to match in those circumstances where it's not very high volume, so this thing's around 500 bucks. This is the unboxing experience very nice unboxing experience. You have tactile buttons. This is way lighter than something like an iPad.
It's 0.77 pounds. This is the charge cable. Yes, unfortunately, its micro USB as far as micro, USB connectors, go it's a decent one. So this is the included pen. It doesn't need to be charged up, apparently, which is nice I'm curious about this other pen, just before I crack this thing open whew.
That is definitely nicer. That's metal! It's weightier! It's almost like the difference between a pencil and a pen. You've got a button on the top. What does that do, or is that? Just for fidgeting because I'm? Gonna? Be honest that is addictive. Already, that's bringing me back to the old days of playing with your pen, like that.
That's the display! It's not a screen protector, so there's so much contrast here. These things are so nice to read on I can feel it's easier on my eyes straight away, a rubberized foot here on the top and bottom. If you can place it on the table, it does not slide around yeah. It feels like aluminum on the back and just like that. It comes to life starting, create notebooks to sketch and take notes choose among a variety of templates, so you can transfer e-books from your desktop and mobile apps to read on the remarkable.
Let me try this other pen here, yeah that feels nice. That's a hefty pen. You select if you are left or right-handed. This is probably for the palm rejection technology, so it knows the difference between your hand and your palm. So if I just open up a quick sheet, am I drawing right away? Let's find out, you know what it is way more like paper.
Do you hear that there's a squiggle there's a kind of thing going on remark exactly like you're writing on paper, it's better than writing on a tablet? As far as I'm concerned yeah, let's see here, bye yeah. If I go to the side, you can see how I get these pen strokes almost sort of pink brush. You can shade something in like with a pencil, crayon sort of let's try to get a little drawing going here and then, if you want to like to shave this in I kind of like this thing, this thing is cool. I feel like I'm, a kid right now Willie do would like. This thing is unfortunate.
He's camping right now, one thing you're going to have to get used to is the fact that it's a bit slower Wow, there's many template's available. Like look at this perspective. Oh, that's. Fancy I downloaded the app the companion app on Android over here, and you can see that it syncs up my notes or drawings to the apps. I can do stuff with them.
I could email this stuff. Furthermore, I could upload it to Drive. Furthermore, I could use it later. Furthermore, I can reference it on my phone. Maybe when the tablet's not with me, it can actually turn your written script into text into actual discernible text.
So I could box like this converting page 1 of 1, the quick brown fox just like that. Now you can see it transferred over to the app and that's available to me alright. So this is how you're going to get documents onto remarkable things. You have to read that are long-form, and they're in text. I have the NHL official rule book here, the PDF, it's 229 pages, Jack's suggestion, and presumably that's going to be available now over here.
Look at this so cool the official NHL rules. Look at those diagrams, they're, restricted, trapezoid, shape area. Look at that see that Jack! That's a highlight! You understand because I'm doing my research on the NHL rules, there's an advantage to e-ink displays I, don't need to tell you that you're well aware of that more satisfying than what you're going to get out of a tablet and iPad and so on. Is that going to be worth $500 to you? That's a tough one! It's a bit of a luxury item in a weird way: I think it's cool and interesting, and it makes me want to take notes. It makes me want to draw a tree and a Sun and some grass it's a nostalgic kind of feeling.
Furthermore, it's a lot like writing on paper. That was their aim. The price might be a little high for some individuals, but it also might be exactly what you're looking for.
