IS THE IPHONE 12 PRO MAX WORTH THE UPGRADE? | Unboxing, Set-up, Camera Test, One Week Review

New app one day, hey guys, oh gosh, it's been way too long since I've seen you. I know, I'm really sorry a lot's been going on, but I'm here today because today's an exciting day um, if you're new to my channel my name is idea. I normally make videos about health wellness, a bunch of different things, but uh today is an exciting day, because today I'm getting a new iPhone. Oh, I'm so excited we're. Going to go to the Apple Store. I'm going to tell you guys all about the phone I picked out.

Why I picked it out. It is 12 30 now, and my appointment at the Apple Store is not until three, so I have some time to kill, but I wanted to do the intro now because there's like decent light. Why am I telling you this? You guys don't care, let's go to the Apple Store. I have my handy dandy, apple bag. Sorry, I purchased the iPhone 12 Pro max and 128 gigs in silver.

It's a lot for me too just to decide whether I wanted the 12 pro or the 12 pro mac. It took a lot for me to decide what color I wanted, but I decided to go for the 12 pro max because it has the best camera and the best battery life. I'm not a very typical person, but those are the two main features that stood out for me. I'm a little concerned that it might be too big, so I figured that I would start off with the 12 pro max and if it's too big for me, I have 14 days to exchange it for something else. So I figured I might as well try colorway wise is something that just varies from person to person I like neutrals, so it was either going to be for me anyway, the silver because the silver is practically white or the graphite, which is like their slate gray, black color, okay enough chit-chat, let's get into the boxy, oh my god, I'm so annoying.

So this is the box. You guys probably already have heard enough about these boxes by now. So there's a tab here that you just need to click on so click on that you just peel back, so you don't need to like um scissors or anything. So that's pretty cool make sure it's in frame, so the plastic is off. The plastic is off-line.

Focus. Please focus camera. Okay, this camera isn't acting up today, yeah, it literally looks like okay. Now, I'm gonna look at it. Oh my gosh, it's big, I'm so scared to touch it.

It's so pretty, though. Okay, let's get it into my hands. Oh my gosh, it's so pretty! Okay! So, let's peel off the paper. Oh, it's so satisfying. I'm kind of sad that it's not plastic anymore, because when it's plastic, you can kind of keep it on for longer.

Oh my gosh. This phone feels like money like it feels really expensive. It feels kind of heavy and it feels big. So this was the main thing. I was a bit concerned about this size.

So this is what it looks like up to my head. So the back of the phone is white, and it has like a silver coating on it. So this color is gorgeous and then the silver chrome all around it's gorgeous, and I'm really excited to have three cameras. The XR only had one, so this is definitely a big upgrade. Let's put it on.

Oh, I got an apple sign. Okay, English bring your current iPhone or iPad near to this. Oh, look at that came up on my old phone. That's pretty cool, hold your new iPhone up to it's connecting okay. So, while my phone is setting up, I want to show you what else came in the box.

So nothing. Basically, we get a charger, and this charger is different from my old charger, because it's an USB, I think, is the right term. I can't charge my phone with my old charging bricks, which really makes apple's excuse of not getting people charging bricks, because we all have them a lie. I think that they assume that all people are upgrading from iPhone 11s, which is crazy, and I'm sure they have the research and the statistics to prove that that's not true, but yeah. Here we are, so I had to buy another charging brick, and then it was 19 pounds and that comes on in two days, but I think that I can use this cord to charge my phone through my laptop.

So I'm hoping I can do that in the next few days and then the box also comes with this little thing and in this pouch you just get a sticker just one. Actually I don't know what I'm going to do with this. Maybe I'll put it on my computer or something I don't know and um the sim ejector tool for your sim card. That's all you get like that is a ripoff. I'm not going to lie.

I knew this already because, like I said, I've watched so many unboxing and yeah, I'm still upset so yeah. Furthermore, I feel like we got swindled by apple this year, but it's okay. They know that we're not going anywhere we're in too deep into the Apple ecosystem. So it's been a week now, since I last came on here and I wanted to give you guys my thoughts on the iPhone since I've been using it for a week today. So I'm not sure what I've mentioned in this video already, but I upgraded from the iPhone XR, in my humble opinion, if you're upgrading from the XR, the 10r or anything older than that it is definitely worth the upgrade.

The picture quality is amazing. I took this camera out during the week and took some pictures some stories, some videos and I feel as though the quality on this phone is, is better than my vlogging camera and is 100 comparable to my DSLR that I'm filming on right now. So I feel like in that regard the camera is amazing and for me that's the main reason why I chose the 12 pro max. For that reason alone, I would say it is worth the upgrade now I have read that the difference between the camera on the 11 and the 12 is not as obvious or even between the 12 pro it's only 100 pounds or a hundred dollar difference between the 12 pro and the 12 pro max. So why not just get that upgrade for the better camera, the better um battery and the larger screen? For me, from an economical point of view, it was worth it but um the size.

Let's talk about the size because I feel like if you're watching this video you're probably concerned about the size. Now I have my old phone here. This is the XR, and this is the 12 pro max. So I'm going to take the case off this, so we can compare like for like. So this is what the two phones look like side by side, ignore that pop socket I'll come to that in a bit.

This is what the two phones look like side by side, and this is what they look like thickness wise side by side. So just looking at them together, it doesn't look like there's much of a difference. The XR is slightly thinner, slightly shorter, just as wide, I would say. The biggest thing for me is the weight. The XR feels considerably lighter, and the weight of the 12 pro max is something that I've struggled to get used to.

So for the first few, for the first day, I was just overwhelmed by the size of this phone. I do not have small hands by any means, so I thought that I would be fine with this phone, but after like a day, I felt my hands were kind of cramping, and so that's why I got this pop socket. I don't particularly like this pop socket. It was just the cheapest one. I could get my hands on, so it makes it a lot easier to hold the phone and to grip it if you have a pop socket in terms of like um.

What's that word like one hand, usability it's so much easier, because your fingers can kind of go all over the screen and that's great, but this phone. If you look at it, your fingers kind of have to jump from side to side. It just puts a lot more strain on your finger, so I found myself holding it with one hand and kind of texting like that, we're just taking some getting used to I've. Surprisingly gotten used to having more of a screen on my phone, like initially it was like whoa. This is too much screen space.

Where do I look, but the more I use it? I've gotten used to it now and sometimes when I switch between my other phone, it just feels a lot smaller, like that's just crazy, but of course you don't realize how easy it is to get used to things. But the thing for me, that's been the hardest thing to get over is not necessarily holding it in my hand, I feel like the pop socket has helped a lot with that. It's the weight, the weight bothers me and every now, and again I feel, like my hands are cramping when I'm holding my phone for too long- and I don't know why, because no one has really spoken about that. So either my hands are just really weak or I don't know what it is. But for me the phone just feels heavy.

I personally wanted to go to the store to hold the 12 pro max in my hand before I ordered it, but unfortunately that didn't work out because of the lockdown but yeah that, for me, has been the only pro I'm not going to lie. I love having a larger screen. It's so good to watch videos on um just every day Instagram. Oh, my god, the first time I used Instagram on my new phone, the screen quality is insane like the difference. It's so much brighter, it's so much sharper.

It's just a better experience of a phone uh. I can't even I didn't want to get too much into it, but yeah. It's definitely a better experience. The phone is faster than my old phone, not to say that my old phone wasn't fast, but this phone just feels a lot faster, and it's an it's a much more enjoyable experience to use. This iPhone apparently has the best battery life out of all the iPhones.

I obviously can't compare it to all the iPhones, but I can compare it to the XR, and I've been able to get a whole day's use out of this phone. I didn't really have battery issues with my XR, so that wasn't so much of a pro for me. Furthermore, I'm not going to lie especially now because we're all at home if my battery dies I'll just charge it. So I don't know the biggest pro. For me, honestly is the camera quality, and it's really nice to have a larger screen.

I know I'm jumping all over the place, but FaceTime on this phone is amazing. The camera quality is sick. Okay, that's all I'm going to say so. Um yeah biggest con for me is obviously the weight. Would I recommend this phone 100? I feel like the weight thing might be a thing that's peculiar to me, because every now and again this hand, my right hand does kind of cramp up, especially when I'm like braiding my own hair and things like that.

So it might be an issue. That's just specific to me, even though I've never had that issue with my XR. So that's worth mentioning um, I would 100 recommend this phone. I do not know that. I would recommend it over the 12 pro though so that's the real question at hand, but I 100 think that there is a massive difference between the XR and the 12 pro max.

So if you're considering making that upgrade from the XR or anything older, I think it's worth it. I think it's a much better experience and I think that it will kind of enhance everything that you do on your phone from FaceTime to taking pictures to uploading. You know, content on Instagram, I'm just really annoyed. I wish that they had put the best camera into the 12 pro as well, because if they had done that, I don't know that I would be as inclined to get the 12 per max because it does feel like a big phone, but surprisingly, I've been able to get used to it is really quickly like just in a week, I'm already used to it. The only thing I'm not used to is the weight, so I hope this video has helped you guys it was literally like just um.

I don't know like a combination of a bunch of different things and unboxing. Some test footage. My experience a week after buying my phone and what my overall thoughts are on it um again I have the 12 pro max in silver, and it's 128 gig. I really like it. I think, if you are struggling to hold it, try a pop socket.

That's really helped me a lot and other than that. I don't really have anything else to say so, I'm going to go. If you have any questions for me, please make sure you leave a comment down below, and I'll be happy to help you. If you have this phone, let me know what your thoughts are. I will definitely keep you posted if I end up returning it or anything like that or exchanging it for the 12 pro but yeah for the most part, I'm planning on keeping it.

I really like it, and it's really exciting to have a new phone. So thank you guys so much for watching um. I will see you guys in another video very soon stay blessed, stay safe and take care, oh and don't forget to subscribe. If you haven't already subscribe and give this video a thumbs up, alright bye, guys.
