iPhone XS Max Unboxing By Bit By Byte

It is iPhone, don't stay, and here we are. This is the iPhone 10s max. This is the 256 gigabyte gold version. I've always gone to the gold phone, but this is the first time they've done a gold phone with a black bezel I know they say edge to edge display, but there's a bezel there. So you know this is the first opportunity I've had to get one, which is really cool, I'm, really looking for to seeing what it's like I got, 256 a thought briefly about the 512, and then I did what everyone should do when they're thinking about what storage capacity to buy that is to see check your usage go to settings in general and storage or usage or whatever. It is, and just make sure that you know you're not buying too much, because it's very easy to do, and it turns out that on my iPhone 10, which I had, and that was a 256 gigabyte version, I was not using anywhere near as much as that.

So there was no point really, and it saves me quite a lot of money really. So this is an unboxing, and I'm determined that this video is not just another unboxing, because every man, woman and their ROG are currently filming and uploading unboxing videos, so I'm going to give a few first impressions and a few thoughts about the iPhone. This iPhone and you know some of the controversies that exists: i. e. , the USB, a cable.

So let's have a look inside see what we have there used to be a time when I use when I would need a knife, so you open it up, but they've done away with that for the last few versions. So you just have this okay! Here we go right. Look you know. What's in here, there are instructions, there's the sim ejection tool. There are stickers, they are the same stickers as every other iPhone and that's it.

Looking at that boring, let's have a look. Ah, yes, okay, cool! Let's talk about its size, I had the temp, it was too small I liked it was comfortable to hold, but I missed. Having a big screen. We have the big screen here. I still feel like I can use it one-handed and that's kind of a big deal.

It's a huge screen on this, but I think I could easily do what I need to do get to the control center. Quite easy, no problem, wow, that's very cool! Okay, there are accessories in the box. There are ear pods, there's a plug UK plug, there's, probably a USB cable. You know what you're getting it's an iPhone. Let's have a look at this phone here we go.

Here's the sound of the cellophane great, so the gold color, hmm, it's kind of hot gold. It has a slight! Well, it's a little close to sort of rose gold, not the current rose gold. Obviously because I'd call. It rose gold, but like the old rose gold, they used to have Apple pretty inconsistent with their colors. The back of it is sort of a little pinky a mixture sort of halfway between white and pink.

But it's nice. It's really cool, very nice, looking phone, so what I want to do is I'm going to pick this up, and I'm gonna. Do that thing where? Well? Quite a lot of you should consider doing this when you get a new iPhone. If you don't want to have to re-enter your passwords, if you want to throw in the loose all your health data do an encrypted backup on iTunes I did one last night, so I'm going to restore the backup to this phone, and then I'll come back and give some of my first impressions, so that took an hour. So, regarding my previous advice, if you are not really bothered about entering in your passwords and some the encrypted data, then really don't worry about an encrypted backup, because that's it forever anyway, there's a few thoughts on the phone.

So, as I kind of said earlier, it's a bigger phone. We get that and as I say, when you have it in your hand, it doesn't really feel like it's that much bigger than the iPhone 10 or the regular size 10s. So you know I, don't feel like it's going to be uncomfortable to hold. It feels perfect and yeah I mean it's its a good size. It's not quite feel like war, it's massive.

So a few things about using the phone you may remember from the 6s, plus the seven plus the eight plus you could rotate the screen like this on the home screen. All the icons will turn that doesn't happen. However, some apps do support. You know, landscape and web browsing is particularly good for that really, so you know I think that's a perfect. A huge deal, but actually what's really nice about the bigger screen is that when you're reading, something when you're looking at looking through messages or reading a book, the text, everything feels a lot bigger, and it certainly feels a lot easier to use.

If you want a bigger phone like this, so I think that's great. This is a bit weird, so that's sort of a bit asymmetrical in terms of the speaker, grille and stuff like that and there's an antenna band at a bottom one on this corner. So a little I, don't know wonky, you know it's going to go in a case so whatever, so it's currently installing a load of apps I've tested a few things like tunnel bear and outlook. They all work. Fine in terms of the scaling, it's all been updated for that there's no massive graphical issues or anything like that which is good and I.

Imagine in the next few days we'll see everything, updated and all look. It will all look great on this phone and, as I said earlier, using the phone with one hand doesn't really feel like it'll, be a problem. I can get to everything you just have to kind of you just have to move the phone around in your hands, and it's fine, so one-handed use I, don't have massive hands, so I think a lot of people weren't really comfortable using this phone. It's also worth pointing out that you don't get an extra row of icons. The icons may be slightly larger and a little more spaced apart, but you're not getting an extra row of icons.

So I'm, not one of these YouTubers that do a full review of a product a day after you know of a 4c or anything like that. So, as you can see loads of stuff still installing I'm going to use this for a little while before I do a for review. But overall you know yeah it's what, if you want a bigger screen, you should definitely consider it. If, even if you have the ten I think you know the extra screen space, everything is large and I. Think that's going to make it a lot easier to use.

That's perfect! So to finish off, let's talk about the thing. That's probably annoyed quite a lot of people aside from the price of the new phone, and that is what you get with it there's a complaint that many people have, and I think you know fairly justified that they're shipping, a phone that doesn't have a USB-C cable, comes with a USB, a cable as we can see here, and it doesn't come of a fast charger, and he got me thinking about how Apple can tackle it, because I think I've got really a bit of an accessory problem. You see lots of people want different things. They want different things to come with their phone. Some people want USB a Sandra port USB, see some people, don't mind the regular charger.

Some people want the fast charger. Some people will use the AirPods. Many people will just leave them in the box, and so I'm kind of in this in three categories of people that exist here. The people who want USA the people who want USB, C and the people were doing anything and I think what Apple I'm, probably gonna, get a lot of hate for this, but I think what Apple should consider doing here me out here is shipping iPhones without any accessories in the box, so I reckon, if you just have the phone in the box, you can make the packaging you know considerably smaller, which obviously is good for the environment. But what you could do is didn't check out process allow people to select what they want or what they don't want.

So if people want a USB, a cable, they can select that, and it should all come in a separate box or USB cable. It will come in a separate box that comes with the phone by lot of people with people. Like me. Have all these accessories, and so I've got three the last three iPhones I've got the boxes for them, and they still have the plug in. They still have the AirPods in, and they still have the USB cable in, because I don't have any use for it.

So I think there's quite a lot of electronic waste and that occurs through insisting on shipping every eye from the same accessory, so I did kind of think it would be a good idea if you gave people a choice and whatever they choose he put in a separate box. This makes the iPhone box smaller and then make me for people who I don't know, don't want any accessories as part of their payment for the phone. If one gets charged the same price, maybe bit as part of their payment, small segment goes to a charity. You know an emergency relief fund, or you know product read or something like that bit of a crazy idea. I suppose, but I just define this that quite frustrating.
