iPhone SE 2020 vs Galaxy S20 Ultra Speed Test!

What's up guys Shan starts here: I've got the iPhone SE and the Galaxy S 20 ultra we're going to do a speed test between these two devices. I'm curious to see how much nine hundred extra dollars can buy you when it comes to performance and speed. We've got the snapdragon, 865, processor and twelve gigabytes of ram over here on the ultra, we've got the 13 bionic that should be, or is supposed to be, the fastest chipset on the market and three gigabytes of ram. So I'm interested to see how these will perform against one another, so we'll go ahead and turn both of these on one two, three, and we'll see which one we get a faster boot up from Samsung looks to have the lead here on the Buddha, but we will see so one thing that we may see is we may see the ultra does a little better with multitasking. We might see that it can hold a few more applications open in the background, while the iPhone struggles, it still is only using about three gigabytes of ram, and you guys saw that there the iPhone was up and ready to use faster than the galaxy s 2002. So let's wipe this, and even after putting in my pin the galaxy s, 20 ultra is still starting.

There was really no contest here with the iPhone SE, totally demolishing the galaxy s 20 ultra when it comes to the boot up and startup. So we've got a fresh boot up, and we'll go ahead and move on to the next portion of the video which would be after launching, and we've got some stock applications here, followed by some gaming and followed by some social media shopping and benchmark. So we'll start out with the clock in three two one, and it looks like the s20 ultra- was able to open up the clock just a little faster and as far as speed is concerned, you might prefer the physical home button. Most modern phones have totally done away with the physical home button. Android 10 has swiped up the iPhone 11 and the X are those both have swipe up to get the home.

So you might actually wipe the fizzle home button when it comes to speed performance, I'm so used to the swipe and the gestures that actually prefer swiping up on the galaxy s.20 ultra go ahead and open up the calculator app next and those were super close. The iPhone SE may have been a little quicker on the calculator application. Next up we're going to go ahead and launch the camera app all right, we'll go ahead and launch the cameras next, and it looks like the SE was ready to go before the galaxy s 20 ultra, and they took a photo about the same speed there and s20 old truck seems to be taking images and processing them a little faster than the S II. All right. So we'll move right along we're, going to go ahead and launch pub G mobile and see which one can launch this game faster.

Now the a13 Bionic is supposed to be the superior chipset. This should launch much quicker than the galaxy s 20 altar, but we're going to see it looks like the SE does definitely have the lead, and we're in the menu quicker on the SE. So we'll go ahead and start the game and see which one can load up the game faster, and it looks like those were about neck-and-neck, or they're about neck-and-neck, and we're actually in the game and able to play it a little faster on the SE, but just barely as you guys can see, those are pretty much neck-and-neck and starting the actual game. But getting the game open was quicker on the SE, so I'm interested to see what our multitasking capabilities are going to be later on, we'll go ahead and move to the next game. Subway surf- and this is a pretty simple game, so they should both be able to load them pretty quickly.

The SE was able to load it a little faster one tap to play, and both games jumped in to the gameplay instantly. Alright, next up we're going to go into asphalt.9. This one I use a little more graphical processing, and it is a little more graphic tensile on the processor, so be interesting to see which one is able to load up asphalt, 9 faster, then. Another thing that you should consider here is we've got lower resolution display that's much smaller over here. We've got a higher resolution, display that's much larger.

Surprisingly, the galaxy s 20 ultra was able to load up asphalt, 9 much quicker than the SE alright. So when in watch gameplay on both phones and see which one can launch gameplay faster, alright, so we'll go ahead and click the play button here, and we'll see which one is able to get into the game faster. It looks like they're, both neck-and-neck when it comes to launching the game. So one thing that would be interesting to see is actual gameplay I feel like having the larger screen makes for better gameplay, because you've got all the extra, and you've got all the extra screen real estate. Here, it's going to be easier to see the game.

Controls are gonna, be better on the galaxy s 20 ultra, because your fingers are not going to be in the way play game wants. Such a small device, like the SE I think that would be annoying to me. So game played to me would actually be better on the s20 ultra for the asphalt 9 game. It looked like it loaded up the game faster, alright, so we'll move on to social media. Let's go ahead and jump into Instagram and Instagram loaded faster and was ready to use faster on the galaxy s 20 ultra.

So next up we're going to scroll through and, as you can see here, scrolling on the galaxy s, 20 ultra is not as jittery, and it is much smoother. That's due to the 120 Hertz display, we've got 60 Hertz on the SE, and you can definitely tell the difference when it comes to scrolling third pages.120 Hertz, refresh frame rate is definitely better I, prefer it on the galaxy s.20 Torcher hands down alright, so we're going to go into our next application here, which is Twitter s2000 ultra was able to load Twitter faster than the iPhone SE. Now the iPhone SE is brand new and just hit the market two days ago, so the Twitter app may not be 100% ready on the USE. Maybe it's not been optimized on the SE. Just yet the galaxy s 20 ultra was able to load Twitter faster than the SE.

We'll move on to our shopping applications will load up EBA and EBA is ready to go faster on the galaxy s 20 ultra then on the iPhone SE. Now, let's just remember here that we're looking at a $399 phone versus a $1400 phone or a $13.99 phone is the difference really. Has it actually worth paying the $900 difference when it comes to speed performance? So far, I really can't tell let's launch Amazon and Amazon is faster on the outre looks like things that are using single cores are opening faster on the s20 ultra and things are using. Multi cores are probably opening faster overall on the iPhone SE, which is not exactly what I expected, but the 813 Bionic chip is a powerhouse. Let's go ahead and launch the Geek bench, it looks like Geek bench watched quicker on the ultra well launch ant ? ? and it looks like we had an ad pop up on the FC, but I think those were pretty close.

Alright then we'll launch the app store and the Play Store and the Play Store was much faster on the s20 whole trip. Alright, so next up we're going to look at our multitasking performance and see which fold is able to hold more apps open in the background. So I'll start out here with an iPhone SE. I'm just going to go through these applications and see if the phone was able to hold them open. In the background clock still open calculator still open, camera is still open.

Pugs mobile is still open, subway surfers still open asphalt, 9 had to start over. So look like you didn't have to reload asphalt, 9 Instagram, still open, ready to use, Twitter, still open and ready to use, eBay still open and ready to use Amazon, and it looks like it did a pretty good job. It only had to reload asphalt, 9 some for 3 gigabytes of RAM. You sometimes know you think Android is overkilling with the RAM and OH Samsung phones. They take about three gigabytes just to hold Android on the phone.

So if all you had was three gigabytes over here, then that would be enough to install your system, and you know you really do need that extra RAM on Android, whereas you don't need it on the optimized iOS. So we'll jump over here and see how the galaxy s 20 ultra was able to do with holding applications open. So we'll go to the clock. It's ready to go calculator ready to go. Camera had to reload Pub G Mobile, shouldn't subway surfer is ready to go asphalt.9 had to do a little of a reload there. Instagram is up and ready.

Twitter is up and ready, MA up and ready, Amazon up and ready, Geek bench up and ready an tutu benchmark had to reload wow. So that's that's crazy. We had a couple of extra applications that did have to reload on the next 20, which I wasn't really expecting that Android 10 with 12 gigabytes of RAM. It should have been able to hold all the applications in the background it looks like the SE actually did a better job of multitasking, alright. So next up we're going to run a few other tests here, we'll go to our speed test, I'm going to go too fast, calm on both phones, we're on a wooden gigabit connection here in the house, and both holes are connected to Wi-Fi, so we'll go ahead and launch the speed test.

The Internet's doing 230 over here on the iPhone SE and 250 on the gallon. Yes, 20 ultra we'll try that one more time- and it looks like we're getting at some points, better results on the iPhone SE, then, on the galaxy s, 20 ultra we'll try that one more time it's a 2 out of 3 times. We have better results on the s20 ultra than we had on the iPhone. Se. I will go ahead and launch the Consider test on these phones.

This is just kind of a browsing test here to see which one is able to run JavaScript faster, and it looks like the iPhone SE, even though the s20 ultra seemed to start up faster, the SE was able to finish the test much faster. It's already finished, we're still running it over here on the galaxy s, 20 ultra still not finished the SE. Pretty much blew the galaxy s 20 ultra away. So we see here that it finished in 103.5 milliseconds, that's 20, ultra, that's still processing here and still not ready to go all right so last. Lastly, we're going to go ahead and run our benchmark test on both phones, we'll start out with a deep bench test, and we're running the CPU benchmark.

So we'll go ahead and start that and as soon as it finishes, I'll come back alright. So this is not exactly what I expected the galaxy s, 20 ultra underperformed when compared to the SC in single core processing and over performed when compared to the SC in multi-core processing, I kind of felt like this one opened up. The applications first also felt like this was able to open up the more simple apps quicker than the SE, and when it came to gaming, I felt like we had pretty much similar performance on both devices and I felt like the SE in some cases, actually did better than the ultra and multitasking next up we're going to move to the an tutu benchmark, and we'll run the test on both phones. Alright, so we're going to go ahead and start the, and we'll come back when these are finished. The Galaxy S 20 ultra visa iPhone SE by over 100,000 points.

One thing that I noticed here, especially with the GPU processing. You see that it basically kills the iPhone SE when the iPhone SE was processing. The gaming content was all much less detail. Tons of detail was omitted in the iPhone SE as opposed to what we were able to see on the galaxy s xx ultra during that benchmark, I felt like you're gonna, get the better gaming experience. That's what you're into there's so many more reasons to buy the galaxy s 20 ultra when it comes to pure performance gaming.

Just the overall usage, you know we're just even scrolling through Twitter you're, getting a much better experience with the galaxy s 20 ultra. Is it a $900, better experience? It depends on how long you're going to keep the phone. So if you don't plan on keeping the phone for very long, or you know, you're probably going to hold it for more than a year. You don't mind battery life being less, you don't mind having a smaller screen. The iPhone SE may be for you.

If you're trying to hold on to the phone for a long time- and you just want a better overall experience, it might be worth purchasing the galaxy s 20 ultra. That being said, you're going to get the same experience on the S 20 or s 20, plus, as you would on the s 20 ultra. So you also have to make your decision there as to how much you need to spend you get the S 20 for about $800, so you're only looking at a $400 difference if you're looking at the S 20 versus the iPhone SE, but anyhow guys that wraps it up for this video.
