iPhone SE 2020 Review - A Whole Lotta iPhone

Hi everyone canopy here almost two weeks ago now I got the iPhone SE 2020 a few days early and I, set out on a little challenge. I took out my main SIM card from the iPhone 11 Pro Mac's Apple's, most expensive phone and put that SIM card into the iPhone SE Apple's cheapest iPhone that currently sell, and I've learned that this is a lot of iPhone 4, not a lot of cash, and this is my review. Today's video is brought to you by Logitech, and they're powered wireless charging dock for your favorite Apple devices learn more at the link in the description. Ok, so first, the biggest transition from the 11pro or really any other modern phone to the S II has to be the design. This is technically designed, that's stemming from 2014, but that's fine I mean it's not that pretty, but doesn't really limit the usage of this phone and even coming from an 11 pro honestly I didn't mind the front bezels here, I got used to them very quickly, now sure a modern, fresh redesign of this whole phone would have been amazing, but this is Apple. We're talking about and for $400, they wouldn't give us a complete redesign.

Trust me, but the front bezels do bring a front facing speaker combined with the bottom firing speaker, which does get pretty loud, but more interesting touch ID right now, in a world of mask-wearing being able to unlock my phone fast and without taking off my face mask outside or typing in my password. That's a winner. The back of the phone is where things look a lot more modern. You have a centered Apple logo on a glossy glass back, and it comes in three different colors, a dark gray, which is almost a matte black, clean white and my personal favorites, this product red, which just looks absolutely beautiful in person. But we have to talk about the display, so it's 4.7 inches and about 720p resolution. You can't actually watch videos in 1080p and if you look at things really up close, you can see some pixels, but at a regular and normal viewing distance, it looks perfectly fine.

It gets decently bright, it's accurate and the only thing I actually miss with this display is tapped awake. But besides that, I do actually now see why some people prefer smaller phones. Not only does it stay in my pockets perfectly, while I'm sitting it's also great to run with this phone and I can actually reach every corner of the screen with one hand and I truly did miss this okay, so we've talked about the design. The one thing that's kind of a compromise with this phone, but the rest of this device is a lot better than you actually expect. So the performance here is driven by Apple's, a 13 processor, the exact same as the 11pro, and also three gigabytes of RAM, and let me tell you this phone is stupidly fast using it daily.

Now once did I experience, any slowness lag or long wait times from the basics of day-to-day usage to multitasking, switching apps and even gaming. The phone does not stop for anything. It's pretty much the exact same performance as Apple's most expensive phone, but in it's the least expensive phone, the phone does run iOS, of course, I'll be able to get many of the latest software updates for years. The phone also gives you the key to the Apple ecosystem with iCloud supports Apple Watch support, iMessage, TV, plus airdrop, you get it and while iOS is certainly not perfect, especially because of its very limited customization, it's an offering system that many people like and once you're in it is can be hard to leave. But often you don't want to leave once again.

It's the same softer experience on this phone as Apple's, most expensive phone. You get everything well everything except haptic, touch to pop open notifications. That's something you're missing here and is kind of annoying to not have, but the one other disappointing thing for me on this phone has to be that battery life. The battery itself has a capacity of 1821 William hours and from my testing, I consistently hit about 50 to 60 percent by around noon and about 0% when actually stopped and charged the phone at around five o'clock. In the evening, yikes I've watched a lot of videos, use social media, listen to music and take a lot of pictures.

Now, quick disclaimer I use my phone a lot more than anybody should and most coming for the 11pro max, which has a huge battery as well. So your usage time will definitely be better than my usage time, but just keep in mind. It is a physically small battery in this phone. If you really want great iPhone battery life at a cheaper price, definitely look at the 10r. The phone is fast charging compatible, and it can also be wirelessly charged as well.

But if you use your phone a lot like I do this is not a battery life King now the camera. This is a huge deal, as we've recently learned. The rear camera setup is actually the sensor of the iPhone 8. Both the software magic and processing of the iPhone 11 series compared to the iPhone 11 pros main camera here are some shots side-by-side in almost all situations, photos look very similar if not the same. There are some differences in color at times, but generally they look identical with the same excellent, smart, HDR processing at night.

The 11pro does have night mode and generally just kills it in low lights, while the SE photos kind of just look like watercolor paintings. +11 pro can take those bouquet portrait photos of people and objects, while the SE is just of people. The SE also takes beautiful 4k, video of the 60 frames per second without HDR and 30 frames per second with HDR and 4k, and that footage is gorgeous. Not only does a video coming from this phone look natural and sharp there's something about iPhone video. That's just always look to the absolute best.

Next to the 11pro. Once again, it's pretty much the exact same quality for video, with the stabilization. Looking a little different, though on the SE and selfies with the front camera are pretty nice too. You can also use porch remote here as well. So why is the iPhone SE such a big deal and really different move for Apple? Well, if I'm, an average user and I walk into an Apple Store or go online, and I see the thousand plus dollar 11 Pro series of phones, $700, 11, $600, 10, R, and then I see the iPhone SE with the latest processor, pretty much the latest camera and the exact same softer experience and key to the Apple ecosystem for $400.

Why would I spend any more than someone who switched from the 11pro Mac's to review this phone I can pretty much safely say: I, never really missed that phone, except for its battery life. The other iPhones offer better and more modern designs, maybe an extra camera or two better battery life, but that's it. It is a familiar design, but everything else is better than before. It's the most expensive iPhone pretty much made into the cheapest iPhone. The only issue for me is the battery life.

So that's some you're going to have to adapt to if you buy this phone, but if you want a brand-new iPhone, you don't want to spend a lot, but still want a somewhat flagship phone experience. I can recommend the 20/20 I phone SE. This video was sponsored by Logitech with their powered wireless charging dock for your Apple devices, with three charging pads, one for your iPhone or Android phone, your Apple Watch, air, pods or a second device. It gives you full fast wireless charging support for your iPhone, while keeping it safe. Not only is this charger fully QI wireless charging certified and also went through plenty of testing to ensure doesn't overheat or overcharge your device once it's fully charged, it's also a beautiful looking charger.

It's modern, simple and works great in any home or on any desk setup, just put your devices on with cases or not, and they instantly start charging it's an incredibly simple and well-built system. If you want to check it out for yourself hit the link in the description. So what do you think of the 20/20 iPhone SE that Apple give us enough here for the $400 price? What would you like to have seen differ on this phone and do you plan to buy one? Tell me in the comments down below, and thank you for watching.
