iPhone SE (2020) detailed battery test: Better after iOS 13.5 update!

What's up guys thumb Russian here, let's talk more about this little guy, which is the new iPhone SE. This new iPhone SE has a lot of great things on its sleeve, in which the standard parts, its performance and also the form factor. It has a needed look because it's the exact copy of the iPhone 8, but still, if you're a fan of small phones. Well, this is actually the only fastest option right now, but then, when force gets, small and slim and obvious thing happens, which is the battery it's reduced in size, and here the battery capacity is just 1821 image for the iPhone SE, which is a very small one. But then, since this phone is a 4.7 inch display, which is not power-hungry and also since the new processor power efficient and optimized, the battery backup shouldn't be that bad. Well during my testing in I was thirteen point four point: one: the battery backup iPod is average with great standby time and the screen on time, even though it improved during the last couple of days.

It was still not that great, and it's somewhere in between three and a half to four and a half hours, so I thought of doing a proper battery test to get a more clear picture and yeah. What I'm going to do is that and when I use the phone continuously with normal and heavy tasks till the battery runs out, and this top watch will give us the proper screen on time. As you can see, the battery percentage is 100, and it's plugged in now, and your mobile data and Bluetooth is turned off, then brightness is set in the twenty-five percent range and volume level is at 75 percent and also the newest thing is that the iOS version is now iOS. Thirteen point five, which is the latest, so now I'm going to disconnect the charger, and first I'm going to play YouTube videos for 30 minutes from one of my playlists. This is one of the most common tasks everyone does in your phone, and therefore it's very important to get an idea about video streaming playback time.

I have fast forwarded this step, and here the 30-minute mark has reached. So, let's pause the video and exit YouTube and check the battery percent, and it's still at 100%, which is great, but from my previous experience with iPhones that first person which dropped takes time, but then it will be different. So, let's move to the next task, which is I'm going to casually use the phone for 30 minutes, and here I'm, going to browse through Instagram, send some messages and stuff like that. You're also to make things less boring. I have fast forwarded the test, and we have reached the 100 mark in a stopwatch.

So it's again time to note the battery percent, and now it's at 95 percent, the battery did drop 5%, which isn't expected and from here on, it should drop faster. So let's not waste any time, and let's move to the third step in which we are gonna, make an audio call for 30 minutes now during these testings. What I'm, now is that the phone didn't get even a bit warm to touch, which is a great thing, and here we have crossed a 1 hour, 30 minute mark in a stopwatch and at precise 30 minute mechanic called timer I hung the call and check the battery percent, and here, as you can see it's at 88%, so that's a 7% drop from the previous one. Well till now things are not very bad and therefore, let's move to the fourth step, which is video recording one of the strong points of this phone is its ability to capture great videos and here I'm going to record a video clip for 30 minutes at 4k 60fps. This is an intense task, especially considering it's recording at Loki.

Now, during this test, the phone did get really hot over this portion, and here just before, hitting the 30-minute mark in video clip I did stop the video and check the battery percent, and here, with this test, the battery has taken a big hit, and now it's at 72%. Well, that's a 16 percent drop from the previous one. So time for the fifth step, and this one is again a more power hungry test and what I'm going to do this time is I'm going to play some games for 30 minutes. I did start with asphalt line and played the game for 15 minutes and then played Call of Duty mobile for another 15 minutes and after the test the battery person was at 58. There is a good amount of battery drop, but still overall, the battery back up till now seems to shape up good and the reason I say this is that we've crossed it to our 30-minute mark in the stopwatch and still the battery is in below 50% and also the phone didn't get warm even after playing games for 30 minutes.

I think this new update has done some optimization with the battery, and my guess is that we might cross 5 hour mark with screen on time. I'll define it out. Edit continue the test, restarting with step 1, which is again watching YouTube video for approximately 30 minutes and after that, the battery dropped to 52%. So this time, while streaming videos from YouTube, there is a 6% draw, then I continued the test by using the phone for browsing, internet and social media again for 30 minutes and after that, after I dropped to 47%. This test did give similar result like Tron 1, which is 5% battery draw.

Then I moved to a 30-minute waltz contest, after which the battery talked to 40%, which is again pretty good well from all this I'm, getting a change in impression about the battery, and also I'm getting excited to know the exact screen on time. So, let's speed up things and start one of our most intense tests second round and that's really recording at 4k 60fps for 30 minutes and after that the battle took a big hit and also like the first round. The phone is very hard and, yes, you can see the battery percentage is 22%, and it had moved to gaming for 30 minutes and the games. I played are the same once we played before and after 30 minutes of gaming battery dropped in 9%. Well, in between the gameplay, there was a prompt to turn on low power mode, which I didn't do, and also one more thing I would love to stress here is that this phone is great for gaming because of the performance and also because it doesn't get much warm, even while playing some heavy games.

Now, since it's 9%, the phone should turn off anytime, and I did start the third round, starting with YouTube streaming, and the phone did handle for 30 minutes the battery person dropping to 3. So it's any minute now and if I ran weak bench and the phone did complete the run and after that, I just casually browse through Instagram and Safari. And finally, the phone turned off with the stopwatch time had approximately files 44 minutes. Well, this test was actually surprised, and that's mainly because here the screen on time is much better than what I got from my initial testing. This little guy has actually shown great endurance and even though it's not going to stay on par with any phones with bigger battery for its size and battery capacity, it's showing good screen on time now during real life scenario, things might not be the same mainly because some users will prefer to keep the brightness level much higher, and also you might be on mobile data, which will surely impact the battery more and actually, that can be the reason why the usual screen on time is lower than what we got during this testing, but then also during a normal day-to-day use you're probably not going to take one hour of 4k video recording this test, even though not very precise, it's actually given an idea about which all things just impact the battery of TSE, and in that the main thing is video recording, followed by gaming, but streaming it's not a big hit, but then, like I, said before, it's mainly because of the control I kept in screen right now, then, as of now YouTube doesn't allow streaming content above 480p and for this test streaming was done through Wi-Fi calls.

Also doesn't affect the battery life. Much and same is the case with cache of social media and browsing, and also one last thing to note is that this test was done after getting this new update and that can be a reason for the improved battery life so to wind up things, I'm actually much impressed with the battery of the SE and, to be frank, there is shoe improvement that what I got during the review period, the screen on time, I got in this test, is approximately 5 hours, 44 minutes and for sure. During normal DT reviews, it will be different, and maybe it will be approximately in the four to four and a half hour range, which again is much improved than what I got initially during the review time. But then also it's not going to stand on par with phones having huge battery. But it's like a great improvement when comparing with the iPhone 7 or even the iPhone 8.

That's all for this video guys hope you liked it. If so, please do it the like button, and please don't forget to subscribe to the channel, see you again in the next one till then bye. You.
