iPhone SE 2 vs iPhone 8 Plus SPEED + CAMERA Test πŸ”₯| Downgrade or Upgrade?

I decided to make this video because some of you may already have the iPhone 8 plus, but perhaps you have also been thinking of switching to something smaller, more pocket-sized easier to use with one head. Yet it is also an upgrade compared to what you already have and all the other options from Apple are simply too expensive or too big. That is until the iPhone SE came out. So today we're going to compare the iPhone 8 plus to the iPhone SE in terms of camera quality and speed in terms of camera technology. Yes, he uses the very latest in AI computational photography, so I'm, expecting the SE to at least take nicer pictures than the 8 plus using its front-facing camera and its rear facing wide-angle lens element, but you're going to get a little more flexibility and versatility from the 8 plus because it's gone to not one but two camera elements at the back one for wide angle and one for 2 x, telephoto. Now in terms of processing, speed and power, the SE uses the very latest, a 13 Bionic processor.

The 8 plus uses the 11. So that's like two generations behind, but considering that, according to some people, the SES, a 13 Bionic chip has been under clocked by about 20% the difference in terms of processing power and speed between these two devices may not be that huge, but we will see first, the camera test. Alright, first I'm, going to snap a selfie with the SE. Ok, the H+ well I think the SU lights up the scene better. You know the playground in the foreground very well.

Did the plus gives a more dramatic look in terms of color tone? The eight-plus seems to add a little more red to my skin in terms of sharpness and detail level. Yes, Die any better job, because it managed to resolve these strands of my hair far better than on the 8 plus. Although the SG lighten up the background better than the 8 plus, you can sort of see some strange things happening with how the SE and those contrasts are the lamp taken. In the background on the s, East picture looks weird like some strange blue group is overflowing the rib, but in terms of noise level, they both are about the same. In my opinion, all right now we're going to test their rear-facing cameras.

I'm going to take a picture of this guy, okay, so as ye eight-plus, so as before, the SE is able to resolve more detail of my subject in the foreground, and it's also able to light up the picture across the frame evenly. So you don't get parts of the picture being overexposed like this picture, shot on the 8th class. On the other hand, I feel that the well to my eyes at least the color on the 8th class, appears to be more natural. The SE simply adds a little too much yellow to this picture. Also, the 8 plus seems to have a little less noise in the background compared to the SE, but that's because the SE is trying to light up the darker portions of the picture by bumping up the exposure, which can be a good thing in some situations, but in situations like shooting in a dark place.

It only adds a little more noise to the picture right to the background. So in this road, I have to call this a draw because in some ways the S II is better, but in other ways the 8 plus took the better picture. Now we're going to do a video quality test, I'm going to shoot a video with the SE. Then the 8 plus I'm going to see walking tests pay attention to the stabilization. The seen exposure color contrast, pay attention to white balance, pay attention to my voice, how it sounds through the microphone.

Okay, now I'm going to run this if stabilization is still good. I put in plus walking test pay attention to the stabilization. The color contrast sees the exposure white balance pay attention to my voice, how it sounds through the microphone. Okay, now I'm going to run and see if the stabilization is still good. Yeah.

Okay, now I'm shooting a video with the iPhone as East camera pay attention to the noise levels. In the background, the white balance how my voice sounds through the microphone now I'm shooting a video with the iPhone 8 plus camera pay attention to the noise levels. In the background, the exposure, the white balance, pay attention to my voice, how it sounds, so there are a few key differences between them in terms of video quality. What I liked about the s East video quality is that the SE was always trying to. You know achieve the best possible dynamic range.

So in areas of the video which seemed overexposed, it always tried to bring the exposure level down, and it did that very quickly. So the end result is that you get an evenly exposed picture throughout the video. It does have a camera system that would work better in a lot of other situations compared to the 80 plus, for example, outdoor shots I mean when shooting videos outdoors with the 8 plus you'd always have to choose between a rock and a hard place. Do you want a nicely exposed scenery with a completely blown out sky with no details whatsoever? You can't even see the clouds or have a nice blue sky with white fluffy clouds, yet with an underexposed scenery. This is not a problem that you would have to face with the SD.

The SE will automatically correct for give you the best possible dynamic range so that you get your nice blue sky with clouds, and you get a nicely exposed scenery to the video shot on the s. East camera also seemed to be less noisy than on the 8th class and in terms of microphone gain. It appears that the air is microphone is more sensitive than the eight plus, possibly by about six to nine Dbs in terms of stabilization white balance, there didn't seem to be much of a difference between them so for overall video quality I have to give my boat to the iPhone SE. Now we're going to find out how they compare in terms of processing, speed and power, so I'm going to do a series of tests boot up test shutdown test, and it tests involving of opening abs and downloading and AB from the App Store, so which of these phones is going to put up first, the iPhone SE or the iPhone 8, plus, let's find out one two and go so he is eight plus booted up. First: okay, now the S II, so I'm going to go ahead and declare the eight plus the winner of this round for this round I'm going to open three different gaming, apps one after the other.

This is because I want to see if they'd still be able to open these graphically intensive apps just as quickly with other apps running. In the background. Okay, first I'm going to open asphalt, 9 then FAA, 15, Pocket Edition, then pop Jeep moves up. Okay, so first asphalt night ready one two and go: oh yeah I've already jumped right into it. Let's see if it will take this round, okay, so the SE loaded into the game.

First, let's jump back out now: FA 15, Pocket Edition, one two and come okay. I, put a see very fast, okay, so again, iPhone SE, let's jump back out now pump cheap mobile, okay, one two and oh yeah. Sorry, let me close this again right, one more time, one two you and come yep. It looks like the SE is gonna. Take this as well yep, so I declare the SE the winner because it opened all these apps.

First, for this world we're going to see which of these phones can download mobile engines. First I've made sure that they both are running on the same Wi-Fi network, so that shouldn't influence the outcome at all. So to begin, I'm gonna just hold the phone up like this, because touch ID is involved here, one two. Okay, so, let's see it appears that the SE is doing a quicker job, downloading the game. Okay, so the SE downloaded the game.

First, we're still waiting for the eight last and now the A+, so I declare the SE the winner of this round. So earlier we saw the h plus boot up first, but what about shutting down? Let's find out one two and come okay, so they both went into the screen at the same time. Let's power them off one two and go okay. I can't really tell because the reason is shut down animation, so I'm just going to go ahead and declare this route a draw because they both went into the shutdown screen at the same time. So, despite booting up slower than the eight plus vs e, and it's a 13th, Bionic processor has displayed better processing power and speed, then the eight plus running on the eleven chip.

Alright, before we end this video I want to do a very quick speaker, quality test for when you are watching videos on YouTube, okay, I'm, just dipping into YouTube I'm going to play this clip at max volume level. Just got this at the mill so earlier this week, I talked about why I decided to get the new iPhone SE instead of the universe pro or the 11. If you don't watch that video, please click on this link over here, but today, I'm gonna, unbox, the new iPhone SE and compare it ok. Now. Yes, me sorry, the A+, okay, thanks Mario, why I decided to get a new iPhone SE instead of the universe Pro? If you watch that video, please click on this link over here, but today, I'm going to unbox a new I.

To be honest, there is a very small body of difference, but it's barely noticeable. Maybe this is a little louder and with a little more dynamic range. Now I'm going to answer the question: that is the title of this video, if you own the iPhone 8 plus, and you want to switch to something smaller, more compact, easy to use with one hand we are the iPhone SE EP and upgrade or a downgrade. The short answer to that question is yes, it is an upgrade over the eight plus just not a very substantial one. Well, let me explain in terms of processing, speed and power.

It is faster than the eight plus in terms of camera. Quality, you're going to shoot better pictures and videos with the iPhone SE compared to the A+ in certain situations, especially in outdoor situations, because it's powered by the very latest in machine learning and AI computational photography you're also pretty much guaranteed 5 to 6 more years of software update from Apple. So it's got a longer shelf life than the 8 plus, but I. It's a substantial upgrade over the eight plus or even the iPhone eight, because this is basically a souped-up hyphenate. It's got the same design.

The same 4.7-inch screen the same Lance element home button. These are all very dated designs compared to the alternatives that we see in the market right now from the Android side, especially at this price point, but whether it is a substantial upgrade or not, it is still an upgrade over the iPhone 8 plus. So, if you're looking for something more pocket-friendly, both in terms of size and in terms of cost, the iPhone SE is a great choice. So thanks for watching guys, I hope you enjoyed this video, oh by the way, I will also be comparing the iPhone SE with other phones in the market, including from the Android side.
