iPhone 12 Pro Vs iPhone 11 Pro Max! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison, this time around between the newly released iPhone, 12 pro and the somewhat new, but you know year old, iPhone, 11 pro max. Now I loved both these phones. I love the 11 pro max and the 12 pro is a newer version kind of the 11 pro max and I think the biggest difference when it comes down to both of these would probably come down to the price tag. So the iPhone 12 Pro right now is costing a thousand dollars. You can pick it up on Amazon for a thousand dollars which is linked down below, but the 11 pro max cost 10.99 last year it is depreciated in price and right now you can find it a lot of places for less than 800 and whatever price I find it on Amazon for the cheapest one I'll link it down in the description you can get it from there and help support the channel at the same time, and what's very interesting about this- is just like my iPhone 12 comparison between these two phones. I did the other day.

I think, between these two devices. There's a lot of similarities, there's also a couple of differences, but I think if you have an 11 pro max 100 keep it. I wouldn't even recommend going to 12 pro max, in my opinion, now looking on the front of these things, there's a couple of main differences with the 11 pro max. We had that 6.5 inch, super retina, Dr OLED display it was a very good panel. In my opinion, it was 1242 by 2688 458 pixels per inch.

You had true tone, you know pretty much little bezel around the whole entire display, horrible English, the notch up top and, like I said before, there's just not that much to complain about it was a very good-looking phone back. Then it still looks good and when you look at the new iPhone 12 series all across the board, they pretty much look just like this on the front panel, and even when it comes down to the panels, I think they're almost exactly the same. I generally don't see that big of a difference between them now on the iPhone 12 Pro it does have a smaller panel, and it's kind of in a smaller footprint too, which I kind of like it has that 6.1 inch super retina, NCR OLED display as well kind of so a little smaller of a panel. The resolution is a little lower, but the PPI is higher. That resolution is 1170 by 2532, and it's a very good-looking panel as well.

You have true tone on it and for sure, at the end of the day, I don't have that much to complain about this specific panel either. I think, going day by day, you're probably going to have a pretty good experience on both of these phones and for sure, if you're looking at just a panel sake, looking at 11 pro max and looking at a 12 pro, you know for quality, forget the sizes, the quality and everything almost exactly the same you're, not going to notice that big of a difference. So, in terms of the front that really pretty much covers it up now, the lightning ports on the bottom and obviously the biggest difference, is just the know flat sides on the 12 pro versus you know the know curved sides on the 11 pro max now. Obviously, the 12 pro is a smaller phone, like I stated before, where the 11 pro max. Is that curve to design for the most part, and I think for sure when it comes down to it, I think both of them have a lot of pros and cons, but it's totally up to you, I think for sure.

When it comes down to it, I kind of like the 11 pro max that curved design, where it kind of slims off on the sides, makes the phone feel thinner, but I kind of like the flat sides too it really. I don't really think it's as big of a deal as people have stated, it looks different, but it may not be the most functional and on the back, you have pretty much the same type of frosted glass, back, which I feel like the 11 pro series had more of a frosted texture, where the 12 pro has kind of not so much of a frosted texture, which you know just take it as you will. You have triple camera setups on both with a LIDAR sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro, and I'll go ahead and just hit on the cameras. Right now you have 12 megapixel sensors on each single camera sensor. On this thing, you just have that additional LIDAR sensor on the 12 pro now with the 11 pro max.

You had a 12 megapixel wide at 12, megapixel telephoto and a 12 megapixel ultrawide. The left d12 pro had the 12 megapixel wide 12, megapixel telephoto and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide and that 3d light or sensor. Whatever now quality wise, I would say and argue that their quality is probably more so the same as not with the iPhone 11. Pro max, we could do 4k at 60, and it was a very good camera. Really.

I think last year was probably one of the best iPhone cameras ever and even this year I would say that going from an 11 pro max to any version of the 12 pro. Obviously the 12 pro maxes haven't come out yet, but I'm going to assume that all these cameras are pretty much going to be exactly the same, and I think for 99 of people watching this. You know you, you guys aren't filming multi-function videos or whatever. That thing is like you're, not making movies on your phone you're, just literally just making a Snapchat or making a video, or I think the best is. Maybe you have to make a YouTube video or something like that, and not only is the video quality still great on the 11 pro max, but the audio quality is actually perfect as well and with the iPhone 12 Pro.

It's pretty much the exact same thing. You know, maybe it's a little better, but I don't really think a lot of people are going to care that much. If, I'm being completely honest, I don't think the average person like, for example, for how much apple spends talking about the camera. I just don't think people really care that much. I think people more so care about the battery life, the performance and maybe even the way the phone looks and that's why visual differences are so good and that's why the sides and the flat sides and everything that really made a lot of buzzes.

Furthermore, I really don't think people really care about the camera that much anymore and both these cameras are great. Furthermore, I wouldn't go from an 11 pro max to the 12 pro camera from my opinion, but you have pretty much the exact same cameras on the front two 12 megapixel sensors on all of them, 4k 60 as well, and definitely when it comes down to it, I'll for sure say I will probably say mo these cameras are more so the same as not. Furthermore, I would not go from the love pro max to the 12 pro and vice versa, just because of the camera, but there are maybe some other aspects to go from one phone to the other. Now, moving on to the software side of things, I'll probably tell you, you know the 12 pro is going to last longer than the iPhone 11 Pro max and that's not necessarily a guarantee. But it's almost you know almost written in stone.

The 12 pro is the newer device. It has the newer, chipset and everything. So it's safe to go out on a limb and say it's probably going to last longer, but it is also very important to understand that the iPhone 12 the whole entire iPhone 12 series and didn't start off with iOS 14 on the dot it kind of started off with iOS 14.1, and we saw this before with devices like the iPhone 10, and I personally believe that the iPhone 10 will get an extra software version and I kind of think that the iPhone 12 Pro will also get an extra software version. The whole entire iPhone 12 series. So that's a pretty important thing to keep in mind, especially when you consider the fact that the iPhone 12 mini and 12 pro max are getting like iOS, 14.2 or whatever when those come out. So I think you know both these phones are great in terms of software they're, both going to be lasting for years and years and years, but quite possibly the iPhone 12 Pro or outlast the iPhone 11 Pro max, and that's literally almost a guarantee at this point.

So in terms of software that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the performance side of things. The iPhone 11 Pro max has that Apple A13, bionic chip, hex core CPU, with four gigabytes on each model, where the iPhone 12 Pro has that Apple A14, bionic chip and six gigabytes of ram on each of the models, so you're getting about 50, more ram going from the iPhone 11 Pro max to the iPhone 12 Pro, and that is a very, very important thing to keep in mind. You know when you're going from one phone to the other, you want to have as much ram as possible and six gigabytes on an iPhone. It's awesome, I'm sure I think some iPads had six gigs too, and it was a very good experience and what I can tell you are. First, I want to say this with the 11 pro max, a very, very good performing device.

Really every single thing I ever did with this phone it held extremely well. I can't even imagine you know going from one phone to the other, like it's just so smooth. It's such a good experience, and it's just a very fast phone. I mean what more can I say and the iPhone 12 Pro is pretty much more or less of the same. It's just the exact same performance, just kind of transferred over to a smaller form factor with additional ram.

Now here's the funny thing and one thing that I just don't really understand every time apple releases a new iPhone for the first couple versions of software. It's you know it's slower and has some more bugs and even phones on the same software that are older. So it's going to take time for this phone to kind of get a little smoother and faster over time, but you know for sure right now, as I compare the iPhone 12 Pro to a lot of the other older phones, it really hasn't been a crazy big performance improvement. It's been a noticeable one, a little, sometimes even comparing my 12 pro to the 11 pro. It's been a minor difference, but it hasn't been something crazy, like wow, I'm going to go and upgrade because of the performance, it's just been like.

Okay, like okay, I'm going to get this phone because of other things, but the performance may be a little better too, so I'll, just that's kind of like an add-on, but with all the other phones in the market. You look at OnePlus, Samsung, so many other devices. Their improvements are usually first, with the displays and things like that, but also sometimes it's because of the performance factor, and in this case it's a very, very minor improvement in terms of performance. It's not as much as apple was saying before, like do they hype these things up like crazy. It really isn't that big of a deal.

In my opinion, I think the 11 pro max is a beautifully performing phone and I think the 12 pro is maybe a little faster than that, but it's still nothing where I would go like you brag about it or something like that. So in terms of performance, that really pretty much covers it up now, ending it off with the battery life. The iPhone 12 Pro max had a 3969 million battery. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 2815 million power battery, and what I can tell you between both of these the iPhone 11 Pro max by far hands down, will have the better battery life by a landslide. It's not even a competition.

The iPhone 12 Pro has a smaller battery than the iPhone 11 Pro and a smaller battery than the iPhone 7 plus. It makes absolutely no sense why Apple did this both have wireless charging, which is great the only advantage even remotely battery wise, is that the iPhone 12 Pro has that MagSafe capability, but the iPhone 11 Pro max can still be charged from it. So I don't know what apple was thinking. I find that extremely, extremely weird and for sure when it comes down to it, the iPhone 11 Pro max has a better battery life three thousand times over the iPhone 12 Pro. Okay, that's a little over exaggeration, but for sure I don't know why Apple did that they decreased the battery size, they've done it before they did it again.

I don't know why they keep doing it, but for sure the 11 pro max has a better battery life. Now, to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you pick up the iPhone 11 Pro max, or should you go and pick up the iPhone 12 Pro and what I can tell you are between both of these devices. The iPhone 11 Pro max. I think right now is probably a better value per dollar than the iPhone 12 Pro and here's. Why you're getting pretty much a better display? In my opinion, in some occasions, you're getting you know pretty similar build quality you're, getting a cheaper phone, it's cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro right now, which is another humongous thing to note pretty much comparable performance.

You know you're getting really great software updates for a very long time. Battery life is much, much better than the battery life on the iPhone 12 Pro it's a bigger phone, so you're going to be getting that bigger display, like I stated, and the cameras are almost identically the same as well as if the iPhone 11 Pro max. If the iPhone 12 Pro was like a 10 out of 10 perfect phones, the iPhone 11 Pro max is like a 9.76 out of 10 in my opinion, but there are some pros for the iPhone 12 Pro you're, getting a newer design, whether you like it or not. It is a newer design which is kind of different you're, getting a perfect display in a smaller form factor you're getting. I guess a better camera, I don't I don't see it, but you know.

Maybe some people will, because it's a better lens or whatever you're, getting 50 percent more ram, so technically, better performance. You may not see it now, but eventually it'll get there you're getting. You know max safe capability on the back, and you know a little better IP certification and that baseline storage goes up twice the amount. But if you already have a 256 or 512 variant, but if you're getting the base model, it does go up in storage to 128 gigs. So the choice is yours, but I'll definitely tell you if I, if I had an iPhone 11 Pro max right now, I would not go and upgrade to an iPhone.12 pro doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't even get a 12 pro max.

I would 100 keep if it's a very good investment. I would say, because these things aren't even going to depreciate that much because there's just not that much of a difference going from the iPhone 11 Pro max to the iPhone 12 Pro I feel like, if Apple were to add a higher refresh rate if they were to maybe even remove the notch or if they were to add you know, reverse wireless charging. Furthermore, I feel like those three things will really shake up an iPhone, but I think these are just big improvements, just like in the camera department and stuff where they highlight it over and over and over again. Furthermore, I just don't think people really care about it. That much.

Of course, I'm going to talk about it. Of course, I'm going to make videos about it and everything, but it just kind of seems like to me. They just you know, flattened out the sides of this phone, and that was really it to me. Personally. They decreased the battery sizes across the board.

Performance marginally got better cameras, marginally got better like I don't know, maybe it's just me and if they added 8k on these phones too, that would have been really awesome, but it just seems like at this point: it's more or less the same. I don't even like the back that much of the iPhone 12 Pro I like it more on the 11 pro max and the 11 pro series and the colors seem a little off too. Maybe that's just me, but it just seems like this was a kind of weird era because they took out so much in the boxes which is totally okay. They have to change the environment, they have to fix it, but it's like at least give us more, and I think the decrease in battery size really really really rubbed me the wrong way, but that really pretty much covers it up for the most part.
