5G 5g 5g 5g 5g, 5g, 5g, 5d, 5g, 5g, 5g 5d, fighting 5d 5g in 5d, 5g, 5g, fighting 5g, 5.5, yeah, yeah apple. We get it, we get it 5g, it's nothing new! We understand what it is. So I have the iPhone 12 Pro with Verizon. I just upgraded to the 5g plan, because why not? I want to see how good it is, but I'm not going to do what other YouTubers do and go up to a 5g, millimeter wave node because yeah, obviously that is going to be just insanely fast, but the problem with that is if you go behind a tree, you lose all your signal, so you know I don't think that's how many people are going to use 5g. What I'm going to test out is what Verizon is calling nationwide 5g, which is just fancy talk for sub six now, unfortunately, my city doesn't even have that, so I'm driving to the next city over. Thankfully it's not that far away it's about 15 minutes, probably less yeah about 15 20. , maybe anyways! Do you see what I do for you guys so drop a like, and let's see how good this 5g is? So we did enter a 5g area, but first I'm going to test out the speed connection on LTE and then do the 5g just so you guys can build a little of suspense, so Verizon LTE, and this is a what three bars three out of four bars of LTE.
It's not bad, pretty good connection and 22.5 is the upload. So now let's go ahead and turn on 5g on now you can't do 5g autos to save battery. The phone will automatically switch between. You know, which is best for that. You know for that scenario, so 60.5 22.5 and uh we're still waiting for that to switch to 5g. I swear it was just on 5g before I started recording come on what was happening, don't mess with me.
I know this is 5g area. Okay, we got it 5g full bars of 5g okay. So let's do this again. So is it worth it? I don't I don't know, I don't know, I mean it's faster, but you know not really the upload sucks bad. So that's kind of the thing I noticed from 5g from every person that has a Verizon 5g.
The upload is always worse than LTE and then the download is a little faster. So let's go ahead and run it again. Just for giggles, oh, come on, come on, 80 hit 80 at least come on yeah. No, yes, no! Ah, you suck and 8.35. Actually I can just show you guys the history right here of 5g and LTE.
You can see the symbols on the LTE and 5g to the left, and then you guys can clearly see that the upload on LTE is fast except the 0.22. I don't know where that came from, but other than that the uh, the Lt's, the LTE's upload, has always been fairly decent, at least in my area, which you know I live in, like in the middle of nowhere. So yeah, there's that well between 5g and LTE I mean. Is it worth the extra 10 15 or whatever the plan is. I don't know, let me know in the comments below so guys.
The 5g that you saw, like I said, is going to be like the 5g that majority of people are going to use um sub 6 5g. Is it good I mean you guys saw for yourself? Is it worth the extra battery drain that it will have on your phone? In my strong opinion, no 5g takes surprisingly a ton of battery from your device. So in my opinion, if you, if you need to download a quick Netflix, show, and you're near 5g, uh turn it on download it really quickly and then just go back to LTE. That to me is it just makes more sense, but if you have a phone like the iPhone 12, and I think the pixel 5 does it as well, it will automatically switch between LTE and 5g, depending on what you're doing to help you save battery. So that just goes to show that 5g really does waste a lot of battery.
So guys. Let me know in the comments below what you guys think about 5g. What carrier you have with 5g and uh. Do you like it, do you notice any major improvement and is it worth the extra money? This was mark from marketed adios.
