IPHONE 12 PRO REVIEW!

This is the iPhone 12 Pro, and I've been using it for over a week now, and I've been comparing it to my previous phone, the iPhone 7 plus from the OLED display face I'd compared to touch ID and also a bunch of other stuff, and if you're interested in hearing how this phone compares to this phone or other phones like it, phones that apple made four or five years ago do keep on watching hello hi. Thank you so much for holding there. I was just speaking to you on our tech team, and he said your old sim card was made before 5g was a thing right, see your home. There is no 5g. Yet in that area, um it'll only work on the new center, but in areas where 5g is compatible to, like you know like central London. Thank you so much no problem, no problem have a nice day.

You too bye bye. So I've got it sorted out now, maybe on my next video I can test out some 5g somewhere, but yeah. That's one thing to note guys that if your phone is like old, then the chances are, you probably have an old sim as well, so do check that your sim is actually 5g compatible before you start driving around looking for 5g, like I did, as I mentioned, I am not upgrading from the 11, the 10, even the 8, I'm upgrading from a 7 plus, and that came out in 2016. So a lot of upgrades bundled into one phone. If you happen to be making the same jump that I did have a phone for over three years, four years, five years, and you're upgrading, then I might be able to help you in your decision of choosing between the top pro and the pro max or at least show you a bit of what you can look forward to.

If you're waiting for your phone to arrive, the iPhone 12 definitely is a solid choice for a lot of people myself included, but I did decide to go pro and a few of the reasons I've mentioned in my previous video. A lot of techs. YouTubers are sort of saying this isn't sort of an awkward middle child and trying to sort of convince people to go for the pro max, and I'm not really of the same opinion, and I really want to explain why I might give you some reasons why you might want to get the 12 pro or the 12 print max, but I'm also going to be given a little review of the 12 pro so far and my experiences using it. It sort of comes under the lifestyle section of my channel, and although I'm not a tech YouTuber per se, I might be able to give you some detailed information that I think is important for you to know. There are timestamps in the description, so do check them out if you're looking for something specific and as always, don't forget to subscribe, turn on your post notifications and leave a comment down below on what phone you're getting whether you're upgrading and what your opinion is about this phone.

So, as you can see, the iPhone 7 is actually bigger than the iPhone 12. I'll. Take it out of the case, so you can see properly. So, as you can see, iPhone 7 plus is a lot bigger than the iPhone 12 Pro and if we place them on top of each other, you can see that the iPhone 12 is indeed thinner, and it's also shorter than the iPhone 7. Moving on to the design, you can see that the iPhone 7 actually might be a bit thinner if I find the dimensions I'll put them on the screen.

But as you can see, this is a rectangular design. So it's a bit denser than the iPhone 7 plus, I would say- and it's got, that flat edge design, which sort of makes it easier to hold this one sort of feels like it can fall out of the hand quite easily if you do choose to use it without a case and screen protector, which I don't recommend, but this one already has a screen protector on it, and I took the screen protector off this one. The iPhone 7 plus has an aluminum body, whereas the new phones uh, I think any phone from the iPhone 8 actually has the glass back, which it doesn't look like glass, but it definitely is gloss again, probably going to want to put a case on this. The screens this screen is an OLED screen, so the blacks are a lot better than the iPhone 7 plus, and you can certainly tell when using the phone I've been using it for just over a week now, and there is definitely a noticeable difference in the displays. The iPhone 12 just looks better.

It looks richer and on some apps you get more screen on the iPhone 12 than the iPhone 7 plus. So if we compare these screens alone, you can see that the screen sort of starts down here and the screen starts up here for the iPhone 7 plus, and it's a bigger diagonal. So this screen is 5.5 inches. This screen is 6.1 inches, so the iPhone 12 Pro has a bigger screen by 0.6 inches diagonally. A lot of people do want to go for the pro max to get an even bigger screen, but if you're going from a 7, you are going to feel like the 12 pro has a bigger screen, although it's in a smaller body, if you're going for the 12 pro max, that will actually be 1.2 inches bigger screen than the iPhone 7 plus so probably be in a similar body to the iPhone 7 plus. Now.

The reason why I'm talking about the screen so much is because not a lot of reviewers talk about the ergonomics of the different phone sizes. If I was using the iPhone, 7 plus with one hand, I would essentially struggle to touch the other side of the screen. My phone would only get like that far. This is very minor for some people and, of course it depends on the size of your hands, but the simple sort of thumb test might help so just hold your phone like you normally would and then basically like try and reach the other side of the screen. If it's quite comfortable for you, then I guess that's a good sign that you will have no issues with the 12 pro max.

But if, like me, you do want to be able to hold your phone in your palm and be able to touch the other side of the screen, you might want to go for the iPhone 12 or the iPhone 12 Pro with the iPhone 12. This action is much more comfortable. As you can see, I can basically reach edge to edge on my screen with one hand comfortably, and the phone feels so much more secure in my hand, with those flat edges that help, and also with the fact that more of my hand can actually grip the phone as opposed to struggling to reach the other side, and I feel like any bigger than the iPhone 12 or 12 pro would be kind of uncomfortable. For me, I can use the iPhone 12 with one hand much easier. Then I can use the iPhone 7 in one hand, and these flat sides do help you to grip the phone easier than this phone.

One thing I did notice as well is that doing that action, if you can, if it's picking up okay on camera, but essentially I would find that my wrist was kind of like struggling. I guess, for me, ergonomics is a factor in choosing my phones and that's because of this phone 70 of the time I was using this phone with two hands, especially when taking a picture. It's a bit harder to take picture with one hand, I feel much better, taking the picture holding the phone with two hands with the iPhone 12 Pro. That is a little simpler. Actually so I can, I feel, like I can easily take loads of pictures and the strain is not as much as well as the flat sides again do help.

I feel like it's going to fall out of my hand, and also these flat edges, help you to secure your grip on the phone a lot more than the iPhone 7 plus, even if it's in the case, because the cases also have flat sides. So if you're, upgrading from an iPhone, 7 plus- and you want a bigger screen, don't rule out the iPhone 12 or 12 pro that 6.1 inch OLED display it's a bigger screen than the iPhone 7 plus and in a more compact design too. So if you do consume a lot of content, or you did on your old phone, and you're sort of likely to do that on your new phone, it's going to look nicer, and it's gonna sound, nicer bye. So if you're, probably upgraded from an older phone, it will probably have touch ID, and your new phone will probably have face I'd face. I'd is obviously the way to go.

It's super quick. Sometimes I don't even realize when paying for things or if it's on the table- and I just look at the phone. Sometimes it unlocks without me even trying to unlock it. It doesn't work if you're wearing a mask so bear that in mind or if part of your face is covered, or you're doing a funny face. It tends not to unlock.

There are still a bit of improvements to be made to face ID, but I do think it works great. There have been occasions where I've had to sort of it's on the desk flat. I've had to sort of look over it um or like to raise it up to my face. If you are liking, the video so far make sure you give this video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe battery life. One of my favorite parts.

I basically went to a lot of countries with this phone, and I had to always always always take a power bank with me, or my phone would die halfway through the day. It could not keep up with everything that I was throwing at it, and that's probably because it's so old the battery has degraded a lot since I first bought it. When I first bought it, it was fine. I remember it being if you do have an iPhone 7 iPhone 8 chances are you've, actually probably degraded unless you've gotten it replaced by apple. So I was really looking forward to having better battery life on this phone and honestly, I can say that it's pretty good, I can get, I think, from like five to nine hours screen time, depending on what I was doing that day and I throw a lot of things at it.

I use face time. I watch a lot of content on YouTube and prime Amazon Prime. Furthermore, I play games on this phone. Furthermore, I make notes on this phone, not just for school, but for YouTube as well. All my social media accounts on this phone.

I do sometimes do school work on this phone. I'll show you my breakdown of a few typical days. Furthermore, I've had during the last week and a bit just to show you how fast the battery depletes, but obviously that really depends on what you're doing, but I can say I definitely feel the difference between this phone and my iPhone 7 plus, but just to caveat with the fact that my battery had degraded to 76 of its capacity, and I will recommend that you replace your battery below 80. Furthermore, I like having my screen on full brightness when I watch content, I like having it on max volume, if I'm not using my AirPods pro with my old phone, if I'm on 10, and I'm out of my house or without access to a charger, I'm done for that.10 lasts two minutes and the phone is dead with this phone, and I don't know if it's with newer phones, the battery when it gets down to low percentages, it tends to have more juice. This phone five percent can easily.

Last you like an hour like I, I watch content on five percent, three percent- it's been absolutely fine. I've had to check it and realize. Oh, I'm actually like this low, and it told me like an hour ago that I was on five percent. So that is definitely something I'm really enjoying now, one of the big benefits to having a glass back over an aluminum back, if you didn't know, was wireless charging. So now, if you want to charge your phone wirelessly now, you can now apple off the MagSafe chargers, which are, I think, 38 pounds just for the little cylinder thing: the hockey puck, with no charging brick to plug into the wall.

They want you to buy the 20 watt charger, the 20 watt wall charger to plug into the wall. But if it's a charger, should it not come with the brick as well? You know, let's not talk about that during the keynote apple basically mentioned, that they're releasing the technology for MagSafe to third parties. So if you're, one of the people that really want to make use of wireless charging- and you want to get it at 15 watts, as opposed to 7.5 watts, which is what apple has limited all iPhones to in the past, if you're using wireless charging and like me, then I recommend that you probably wait for third-party companies to produce MagSafe accessories like charges. I don't know how long this will take or if it will even happen, but I for one I'm going to go for a normal wireless charger, or I'm gonna, get a third-party mac safer option, and I'll make sure to keep you guys updated on that. One thing to know that if you're not in the US chances are, you probably won't have that extra sort of like cutout, that other phones have like on the side for the 5g millimeter wave and the US.

You probably won't have that if you're in the UK, if you've watched any tech reviews before on an iPhone anything from the iPhone 10 up to the iPhone 12, you would know that a lot of people complain about this notch. For me, coming from a phone with huge bezel to a phone with just a little notch, there isn't that deep. For me, a lot of people probably won't be upgrading from the iPhone 11 to the 12, maybe the iPhone 10 to the iPhone 12 or 12 pro. But if this little notch here houses the cameras that make portrait mode on the front facing camera, look amazing, I'm not mad. At that, I have a few shots to show you exactly what that looks like the iPhone.7 plus, definitely didn't have a front facing portrait mode. That is something I am loving with the new iPhone 12 Pro, so the camera, the biggest differences I found are in low light, and I'm going to put some images in just to show you what I mean iPhone.12 definitely helps in the fact that it needs less light than the iPhone 7 plus to produce an amazing picture it needs it doesn't need as nearly as much light so with the iPhone 7 plus. I found it really hard to give it enough light when I was just taking the shot.

The iPhone 12, even the viewfinder or the screen looks so much brighter than the iPhone 7 plus, and I think that's because of the sensors they're just able to capture so much light, but you do have to sort of give it something to work with you. I've to know how, to you know, activate the portrait mode with the yellow outlining on the screen. I found that my iPhone 7 plus, even though it was in a case and had a screen protector 100 of the time that phone did not break. I could throw it on the floor. Furthermore, I literally dropped it so many times it hasn't even dented might be because of the case, it's a very cheap case, but I think it's also because of the build quality and I think, there's a few drop tests that have been done on YouTube already um on these phones, and they seem to be quite durable but yeah, it's a thousand pound phone, and I'm not going to chance it.

So if you guys are looking for a case where you can sort of still see the color through the case and a good screen protector as well um, I put a link in the description for one that I recommend that I'm using at the moment- and I think, is perfect. So these are my final thoughts. So the three reasons I would say to go for the 12 pro max are number one. If you definitely want the biggest screen ever, and you're cool with the ergonomics of that you're. Happy with big phones number two, a better battery life.

So, as I mentioned this battery life is good, but obviously the top pro max is bigger. So it has a bigger battery and number three. If you want the best in phone camera that apple has to offer, it does have a bigger sensor, but, as I mentioned, some of this video was filmed on iPhone, 7 plus. So really you can. You can do a lot with the earlier phones, let alone this phone.

If you give it what it needs and really a lot of the time it's good like those are the three reasons I would say to go for the pro mac, because really the pro name like it's more expensive compared to last year's 11 pro it's got no charger, no headphones, the price hasn't even been brought down. This is a lot, so really, what I'm trying to say is why I stretch even further when this phone is just excellent. That's basically my point: if I had a choice of the pro and the pro max and in a perfect world, they were the same price. I would still go for the 12 pro. I don't think it's an awkward middle child.

Furthermore, I think it's the most pro you can get at this size and with that that is the end of my little review and comparison with some of the earlier phones that apple has made. If you liked this video and found it useful, do give it a thumbs up, it really helps and make sure to subscribe and leave a comment down below, and thank you guys for your support on my last video. It's kind of been overwhelming. So thank you guys for that.
