iPad Air 4 Vs iPad Mini 5! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison, this time around between the iPad Air 4 that I just bought and the iPad Mini 5, which is technically the smallest iPad that apple currently makes. Now I am a little late to the iPad Air 4 comparisons, but it's better late than never. Now I will find the cheapest ones on Amazon of both of these and link them down in the description below you can get them from there and help support the channel. At the same time now, with the iPad Mini 5, it is a little cheaper than the current iPad Air 4, but just because it is cheaper, doesn't necessarily mean it's automatically the better device, and I can definitely tell you there are humongous differences between both these devices and definitely, if you have the money, if you can go and upgrade to it, the kind of sum of this video for you guys, the iPad Air 4 is a far superior device in the iPad Mini, but it's also a far superior device than a lot of other iPads. That apple is currently selling as well, and I think in some ways it's actually a better iPad than the iPad Pro 4th generation as well, which I'll explain throughout this video. Now on the front of the iPad Mini, you have that 7.9 inch IPS panel, and it was actually a pretty decent panel. For the most part, it wasn't ugly, it's actually pretty good and really high resolution, and I will tell you some people may say: like the touch ID and the know home button and the big bezels around it are.

You know, dealbreaker. I will tell you, I really don't think for an iPad. It's that big of a deal. I've had many iPads that had home buttons. I've had many iPads that didn't, and I really didn't find too many crazy differences.

So I think that's a pretty big thing to say and for a device like this you're going to be putting in your book bag you're going to be kind of taking it out with you, and you're really not going to use it and look at it like a phone you're going to be using it more like an either media consumption device or a work device, or something like that, and you do have Apple Pencil, 1 support on that with the iPad Air 4. You have that beautiful 10.9 inch IPS panel. The resolution is only slightly higher, but the PPI is less, so you're getting fewer pixels per inch on the iPad Air 4 than the mini five. So keep that in mind, and you don't have a home button, you don't have anything crazy. You do have touch ID in the top right corner in the know, embedded in the power button, and I do prefer in this day and age, to have some type of touch ID sensor.

I don't like having just face ID I like having both and hopefully apple, just bring that in the next specific iPhone. But I do think with this type of device with the iPad Air 4 you're getting a much better looking device overall, but I think the EPI 5 still doesn't look ugly like. I think it looks okay and that's definitely not the biggest change I've seen between these two. But I will tell you the Apple Pencil 2 support is a pretty phenomenal change and if you're somebody who uses an Apple Pencil, I would recommend always getting an Apple Pencil, 2 supported devices because to charge your you know: specific apple, pencil with the bottom lighting port and all that stuff. It's just such a mess, and I really don't prefer it.

The iPad 4 in my opinion, is probably going to do you much better when it comes down to that specific aspect, in my opinion. So when it comes down to that and on the front the iPad Air 4 is probably the winner. It looks better. It is a bigger iPad overall, and you're, definitely getting a better looking device and more functional device on the front of the iPad 4. With that Apple Pencil, 2 support versus the iPad 95.

With the know, Apple Pencil, 1, support now on the bottom. You have an USB type c port on the iPad Air 4, which is huge, and you have that lightning port on the iPad Mini 5. Now, with the iPad Mini 5, the only pro that you have pretty much with that is that you have a lot of connectivity things that you can go and connect to with, like you know, SD card readers and stuff, but I don't know with USB type c, you are getting a much more functioning port, I would say, but I feel like a lot. More people have lightning ports lying around than USB type-c ports. So keep that in mind you have aluminum backs on both as well, and you have single camera setups on the top of both these iPads as well.

Now I don't know how much you're into you know videotaping on your iPad and photo taking, but I can guarantee you one thing in this day and age: it is very important to have a camera and a front facing camera on an iPad, mostly because of FaceTime calls. Zoom calls different things like that when we're kind of in quarantine and not many people can go out, it's very important to have that type of setup, and you're. Definitely getting a better camera setup on the iPad Air 4 than the iPad Mini five for sure you're. Getting eight megapixel sensor on the iPad Mini five on the back, we're getting a 12 megapixel sensor on the iPad or four, and you can do 4k at 60 on the back of the iPad Air 4, which that in and of itself is a huge plus for that specific device. I mean having that type of capability is extremely awesome, and you're pretty much never going to have to upgrade in a long time, and the camera is the least of your worries with the iPad Air 4.

Now with the iPad Mini 5, you can only tap out at 1080p. So basically, if you're somebody who wants to start filming huge type of videos on your iPad, the EPI mini 5 is probably not going to be the best way to go. It's definitely going to not really going to do use too well when it comes down to the camera setup, but the good thing about both This is that the iPad Mini 5 and the iPad Air 4 share pretty much the same front-facing camera they both seven megapixel sensors 1080p on the front. The main difference is that the iPad Air 4 can do 1080p at 60, which that is a huge plus for that specific device again. Is it a deal? Breaker? Probably not.

I will tell you if it's not that big of a deal to you. If you don't plan on using the front camera, then it is what it is not that big of a deal, but I will tell you still have more capability on the iPad Air 4 camerae than the iPad Mini 5 camerae for sure, so that in and of itself is a pretty big difference as well, and I'll probably give the camera edge to the iPad Air 4 than the iPad Mini 5 for sure. Now software wise. This is another big thing with both of these. They are probably still going to be getting software support for quite a bit of time for sure.

So it's not like next year, these are going to be outdated. The iPad Mini 5 has the same exact chipset as something like an iPhone 10s or an iPhone 10r. The iPad Air 4 has the same chipset as the iPhone 12 and 12 pro. So keep that in mind. You know both phones and both iPads are going to be supported for a very long time, but definitely the iPad Air 4, with its chipset inside it, is going to last longer than the iPad 95, but for the time being, they're both going to be supported for quite a bit of time.

It's not like tomorrow, they're going to be outdated, they're going to be supported for many years to come, but the iPad Air 4 is definitely going to outlast the iPad Mini 5 when it comes down to it. So when it comes down to the specific you know, software comparison that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the performance. The iPad Mini 5 has that appellate's full bionic chip, like I stated explore CPU and three gigabytes of ram with the iPad Air 4, has that Apple A14 bionic chip inside it hex core CPU, and I believe it has four gigabytes of ram. I could be totally wrong about that, but based off my assumption, based on the specs that I've seen before, I do believe that it has four gigabytes of ram but, like I said it could be mistaken, but regardless about that ram setup, I can tell you first, you know kind of talking about the iPad Mini 5. What I can tell you was with this specific iPad.

You were going to be getting a very good performing iPad for sure my performance, you know, complaints about any iPad is never for these iPads that just came out they're, typically for like iPads that have been out for probably like five years because they hold up so well, because the iPad Mini 5 just came out last year and because it still has a perfect chipset inside it. It doesn't mean that just because it's over a year old, doesn't mean it's bad or where it just means that it's a pretty good performing iPad, but compared to the iPad Air 4, it's just not as good, but you still have a very good chipset inside it really whatever you're going to do with it is perfectly fine the ram I've never really had. You know obstacles out of me in the background, too often I mean sometimes it may happen, but if you're a student, if you're trying to type out papers, if you're trying to do whatever you're going to have a perfect experience with the iPad Mini 5, but I believe the size may be one of its biggest disadvantages for a lot of people, especially with me. I like having a bigger iPad and that's why something like an iPad Air, 4 kinds of suits me a little better, first, with its newer chipset. That just makes things so much easier for me.

In my opinion, it just makes me feel so much more comforting, knowing that this thing has an extremely new chipset. I mean this thing. I think was the first device to bring an Apple A14 bionic chip inside it even before the iPhones, which is super insane, and the performance behind this iPad is really, really good. Furthermore, I mean this is a perfect performing iPad, one of the best performing tablets right now, and it has a newer chipset than the iPad pros right now, too, those one have the like the apple a12x, or something like that. This one has that newer a14, which is insane to me.

The only difference that I can see is probably the ram, but regardless this thing is an perfect performing iPad, better performing than the iPad Air 3 and better performing than the iPad Mini 5. But beyond that, I like the size, I like the way it looks, and those are huge advantages when looking at iPad. So when it comes down to the performance aspect, like I said before, you're getting a better performing iPad from the iPad Air 4 than the mini 5, but you're still getting a perfect performing iPad on the mini 5.2. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the battery life. I think this is another pretty big difference.

You know the mini 5 has a 5124 million power battery the iPad Air 4 doesn't even give me the amount of battery size. That's inside it. I truly do believe it is bigger overall than the iPad Mini 5. But the big thing to keep in mind in my opinion, is that I've actually had pretty good battery life on the mini 5 you know, and with the a14 bionic chip inside the iPad 4, it's been pretty good as well. I haven't you know.

Standby time has been great. You know performance wise. Whatever I did with it is fine, and the battery life didn't go down too much either. So that's another huge thing, but I will tell you at the end of the day when it comes down to something like this you're not really going to find a humongous difference in the battery life, but I would probably say surprising: the mini 5 may have a little of better battery life, but it's pretty much few and far between, and they're, both probably comparable. So to kind of sum up this video and say answer the question: should you go and pick up an iPad Mini 5? Should you go and pick up an iPad Air 4.

? Well, what I can tell you are that at the end, the date- I don't really think one iPad is like the perfect iPad, for you know a particular person, but I do think if you have the money and if you're, okay with spending it the iPad Air 4 without a doubt, is the one to pick up. This is a really solid good iPad. At the end of the day, it has a lot of capability and really, like I said before, whatever you're going to do with it, it's going to be perfectly fine. You know the iPad Air 4 is for a lot of people. A perfect iPad.

Now is the perfect iPad for everyone, probably not like. I said for a lot of people. I think, if you're, okay, with spending the money, if you're, okay with this specific iPad, then go for it. But if you don't need all the hype, if you don't need every single thing that an iPad has the capability of, and even if you don't need an Apple Pencil to support anything like that, the EPI 5 is a perfect iPad for sure this one will take you from point a to point b, it'll last you a very long time, and it's not going to be like you pick up this iPad, and you're going to have like a worse experience than the iPad or 4. So not the case at all, you're going to pick up both- and you know once not necessarily going to feel like it's a thousand times better, but I will tell you the iPad Air 4.

If you have the ability to actually go and purchase another one you're going to have pretty much a better iPad experience overall on the iPad 4 than the iPad Mini 5, in my opinion, so in terms of everything that pretty much covers it up, like I said, if you want to pick either of these, up links will be down in the description below, if you guys have any other questions or anything.
