iPad 10.2" vs 9.7" (Does Size Matter?) By Tonyisgaming

What is up guys. It is tony here, and today we're taking a look at the iPad, 8th gen. I actually haven't seen this before my personal iPad is an iPad 6 gen, which does have a half an inch smaller display and some different technology, older technology, but it does have pen support, but the pen support is supposed to be much improved on this model. This is actually a gift for my grandmother that I helped my grandfather pick out. I wanted her to have something that had pen support, even though she's a bit resistant to it, but she has a real talent for drawing, I think she'd enjoy it. But of course technology is strange and- and even though Apple has done, some of the best job at pen support the 6th gen that I use that she has tried before is not nearly as responsive apparently as this newer model.

So I'm going to go ahead and do some up close testing and side by sides with slow motion to see the difference, but today we're just doing an unboxing um. Just because I want to get my first impressions on how different is this, some people might be holding an uh, a sixth gen themselves and wondering: is it even gonna? Look any different. Am I really even going to be impressed by it? Is it going to feel different? Well, I'm here to show you, because I have been using a 6th gen for a long time. So right off the bat can't entirely see a difference. Just like off.

First impression, completely honest getting some fingerprints on the front whoopsies I can slip off there. We go so, let's boot it up. If I'm honest, the display does not look any bigger at all to my eye, but I will be able to spot more specifically what the difference is once we get them together and the difference might actually serve a huge advantage. It all depends on which dimension has been increased and if I had to guess it looks like it's more wide. It looks like they've increased the vertical dimension slightly and, if that's what they've done that is going to be nice for web browsing, I think that's even going to be nice for drawing, because you're going to be able to have more room for your brushes with a wider space to draw.

So I'm going to go ahead and log into my Wi-Fi and set this thing up so good news. This thing does come with the larger style, brick, it is a 20 watt um. So that's nice, and it looks like it is an USB to lightning here that they give you, so you're all set up there. As far as charging, that's actually going to charge a lot quicker than the 6th gen, which came with a smaller brick. Okay, now that I have my 6th gen right next to it, you can definitely see that we're getting probably a half inch in height difference we're getting about a half inch in height difference here between these two displays.

That's going to make this display a little wider, probably closer to a 16 by 10 aspect ratio which is going to enable more wide content which, when it comes to drawing means that, if you kind of look here that half inch of display is going to be where all your brushes are, and it's going to feel like you have the full screen drawing experience while having your brushes kind of pushed off to the side on some extra display. It also means that, when you view YouTube videos, you're going to have less black bars on your content. So I'm going to do a more in-depth, side-by-side comparison where I actually show these things in action.
