I took some pictures with a Google Pixel 4a!

I am not about spending a thousand dollars on a phone, hey guys, Omar here, and today we're going to take a look at some of the photos that I've gotten with the Pixel 4a google sent me this little phone to try out, and it is a little, but you know this is what phones used to feel like. So if you like your phones, nice and large, I feel like this. One may feel too small for you and I found that I'm starting to like this size of phone in my pocket. So I don't have this huge bulge when that sounded wrong. Now, I'm not a phone reviewer by any means. So I'll tell you my just overall impressions of it as a phone number one.

It has a headphone jack. I know people love the wireless life, but I like just plugging in headphones, just to listen to music casually I'd hook up in the Bluetooth and the wireless. Now after two weeks with it, I can say that call quality is great apps open up quickly. It performs really well, I haven't noticed any lag or any itchiness at all. Now it is 350 dollars, so it only comes in one color, and it's a little plastic if you, if you're coming from other phones that are a little heavier and premium and glass, this phone will feel a little cheap to you.

I don't like putting cases on my phone, and this apple XR, for example, feels really great in the hand, so does the pixel 4, the pixel 4, has nice heft to it and just feels great without a case, not great color, beautiful all right. Let's just look at photos, because that is what blew me away about this phone is the picture. Quality is just absolutely amazing and as we're a photography channel as photographers, that's what we want to see is. Can we take this out if we're leaving all cameras behind to just casually shoot? And the answer is yes? Oh, some of my favorite features for photography is number one. Access to the camera is super quick by just double tapping this aqua button.

Here the camera is ready to go. Another neat feature it has Google Lens which lets you take a picture of something and Google will identify what it is. This is great if you're looking at products or if you like some shoes, someone's wearing just walk up to them and take a picture of their shoes, they won't think you're a weirdo. Now it's a matter of taste, but I think that pixels do a better job with white balance than the iPhones. I think iPhones sort of trend towards warmer.

So if you like warmer photographs, you may like what's coming out of an iPhone, but out of the pixel, I like the real colors with the punchlines so um, I kind of prefer the pixels look. Portrait mode blew me away when I took a picture of that pizza. However, the artificial intelligence still isn't there with difficult edges, so I would stay away from anything that has crazy, hair or grass because it can't find the edges. So it's not perfect, yet you don't have to give up your camera. Yet.

The other thing that surprised me was the lens has a 1.7 aperture, and you can actually, without portrait mode, get a little of blurry backgrounds or both. So it's kind of nice. If you're close to your subjects, you will get a little of blur because of the aperture on the camera. That was super cool overall for 350 bucks. You get a phone and apps with this camera.

Alright I'll see you guys next time.
