Huawei P30 Pro vs Pixel 3 Camera Comparison!

So, the Huawei P30 Pro is out on the market and every single reviewer and tech journalist is ranting and raving about its smartphone camera. But the thing is up until now, the pixel 3 has been the king in the camera department. Now I was curious to see which one takes the better photos. So in today's video we're comparing the camera on the hallway P30 Pro against the pixel 3, so in the first photo, a couple of things are going on. Both cameras did a fantastic job of taking this picture. It just really comes down to your personal preference.

The P30 Pro is a lot sharper. It's definitely over sharpening it bumps up the contrast a little and, of course it darkens the shadows. The pixel 3, on the other hand, is a lot softer. It looks a lot more natural if you want to get similar results to the P30 Pro you're going to have to do some work in post-processing. Neither camera did a bad job.

It just really comes down to which one you like better. So this photo is interesting. Pixel 3 leading towards cooler tones P30 Pro a lot more yellows making the picture feel a little warmer. You can tell the sharpness and the P30 Pro is significantly higher, especially we look at the driveway in the front. However, this time the pixel 3 is darkening the shadows, and you can tell that by the tree itself.

The other thing to note is that the pixel 3 looks more vibrant, so you can tell that there's some contrast being bumped up to make the photo look more pleasing. So, honestly, in this photo, these cameras did a great job. There's nothing really to complain about. It really comes down to the color science. You prefer do you like the cool tones of the pixel 3, then you're gonna, like the photo of the right better.

Do you like the warmer tones of the P30 Pro, then you're, obviously, going to like the left photo better? So in this picture, I thought it was absolutely crazy, because the P30 Pro is really bumping up the Reds and the yellows, and it actually makes the left photo. Look like it's a picture taken in the fall, whereas on the right side it makes it look like it was taken in spring. It's crazy how these color temperatures work, I mean don't get me wrong. I think the P30 Pro is much more appealing because it looks like the foliage and the trees are alive. But realistically this situation, this scenery at this time of day on this day, looks a lot more like the pixel 3.

Now this photo may not look like much, but there's one specific thing going on here: the shadows on the pixel 3 are way too dark and of it. You can't see the detail on the bark of the tree with the P30 Pro I can see the little circles the little dents around the bark of the tree, whereas on the pixel 3, it's really hard to make it out. The other thing is the sharpness there's a lot more over sharpening going on with the P30 Pro, and you can tell that in the clouds. So this is portrait mode and I wanted to test that on an object first, because I wanted to test how good the time-of-flight sensor is on the P30 Pro. Overall, it did a better job in terms of blurring the light bulb.

It's just thought. The base of the light bulb should be blurred as well. If you look at the pixel 3, the base isn't focus, and you can see all those details, whereas on the P30 Pro only the bulb itself is in focus. The background looks a lot more natural on the P30 Pro on the pixel 3. It looks a little fake.

Also, if you look at the bottom, you can see it messed up the blur a little. So here's the thing whenever you do portrait mode, it always works significantly better on a human subject, and as you can see here, it did a better job of nailing. The edges on the photo I purposely like the way the P30 Pro looks better. It's warmer, it's more vibrant and just a more pleasing photo to look at the pixel.3 did a great job as well, but you can tell that the edges over here a little more blurred compared to the P30 Pro. Now don't get me wrong.

The time-of-flight sensor does make a big difference, but there are some blurred portions of her hair that you can notice specifically on the left side of her shoulder and a little at the top left edge of her hair. Overall, the P30 Pro did a better job, but I think both phones did a great job. Now, when it comes to taking selfies I think the P30 Pro did a pretty good job. This is a big improvement compared to previous Huawei devices. The pixel 3 is definitely better in focus.

I, look a lot sharper and overall, my skin tones are a little more natural compared to the p30 probe. Overall, you can't go wrong with either one, but the big thing, though, about taking selfies is at least with the pixel 3. You have the option to use the second lens as a wide selfie, hey guys. Here we are at the brickwork son a beautiful sunny day. Let me know in the comments down below I want your feedback.

Let me know which one you think has better sound quality and which one you think has better stabilization, also and which has the superior image quality. Next up is nighttime, and this is where the P30 Pro X sells, not to be quite honest, I, don't like the way, I look on the p30, Pro, really harsh, on the skin tones. It's really over sharpening aggressive and making my skin look way too. Thick I actually prefer the pixel 3 in this photo, even though my skin is smooth out, I look a lot better now. The good thing, though, about the P30 Pro, is how much more detail you get.

If you look at the background, you can actually see the camera perfectly now this photo. The P30 Pro completely dominates the pixel 3. It just looks crisp the colors look, vibrant and the light is not overexposed. Look at the store where it says wish list. The lights are completely blown out on a pixel 3 on the p30.

You probably can actually look inside and see all the mannequins. The other thing is amount of noise. The pixel 3 introduces in the photo now don't get me wrong. This is a huge improvement compared to phones that don't even have a night mode, but when it comes to nighttime, the P30 Pro is definitely the king and last up is another example. Now this is a pitch-black room.

I can't even see. What's in front of me, I took a photo with both phones, the pixel 3 came out black and the Hawaii P30 Pro was able to see the image. That's pretty darn impressive and finally, a 4k, video, and honestly I have a tough time telling which camera does a better job. The stabilization is pretty equal, I think it just really comes down to whether you prefer a cooler tone or more of a warmer one, so that pretty much wraps up my little camera comparison between the pixel 3 and the Huawei P30 Pro. Now, obviously, the P30 Pro can do some other crazy things like zooming up to 5, 10 and even 50 times, and these are things the pixel 3 can't even do.

But overall I think we have a new contender in the house and that's the P30 Pro. It just takes really great photos. The pixel 3 has been using one lens for the past couple of years, and it's quite amazing how far it's gotten using a single lens, but there is something to say about having two or three more lenses on the back, because you just have a lot more data to work with anyways. Let me know which camera is your favorite in the comments below like the video, if you liked it subscribe. If you haven't already, and I'll see you guys in the next video.
