HUAWEI Nova 8 PRO 5G Disassembly Teardown Repair Video Review

You're watching the Huawei nova 8 pro disassembly, and if you need any tools there are links in the description all right. Let's start off by removing that sim tray. Next, we need to use a hair dryer or a heat gun to heat up the backplate, so we can loosen up the adhesive underneath, and then we're going to use a plastic pry tool to pry the backplate off. You have some foam padding over here and here, as well as some graphite film here and some over here on the bottom corner. One thing I want to mention this backplate on the nova 8 pro was much easier to pry off compared to the nova 8. There are 20 Phillips screws which need to be removed once all the screws are removed.

We're going to pry off this graphite film over here on the bottom over the speaker assembly, and then we lift and remove the top cover. So taking a look at the top cover, you have your NFC antenna located right here. You also have a large sheet of graphite film over here, which covers your battery as well as a portion of the motherboard, and the graph iPhone basically helps transfer heat. You also have your LED flash located right here, taking a look at the other side, you have some more graphite film over here, and you can see the LED flash board located right here, as well as the contacts over here on the other side for the NFC antenna. Now it's time to disconnect the battery cables and this battery does have two cables.

We have one on the right side and one on the left. Once those are disconnected, we can disconnect the rest of the cables. There are two wire cables over here in the corner, just pop them off, and then we can disconnect and remove the front facing cameras. So here's your main 64 megapixels, HD camera, and it does have optical image stabilization. This one is your depth of field camera.

This one's your wide angle lens, and this one over here is your macro lens. Let's go ahead and disconnect those three cameras. Now we can lift and remove the camera assembly. These three cameras are sitting on a plastic bracket. There is one Phillips screw over here on the top holding the main board down once that screw is removed.

We can lift and remove the main board here is a better look at the front of the board. You have your primary microphone located here on top and here's a look at the back. We have some thermal paste over here and over here on the shield. Once that shield is removed, we can see some thermal paste on top of the processor ram and a few of the other chips, all right. Let's go ahead and remove the speaker assembly, here's a look at your speaker assembly, and you do have a mesh filter over here over the opening on the speaker.

Now we need to disconnect the fingerprint reader cable. Then we have flex hip over here to pop that off there are two wire cables we need to pop off. Now we can lift and remove the charger board, so the charger port board. You have your main microphone located right here. You also have a red rubber gasket around the charger port itself and on the other side, you can see your sim reader located right here.

So just like the nova 8, the fingerprint reader has an extension cable over here attached. You can disconnect the extension cable by just popping it off like that, and your fingerprint reader is held down with adhesive. So if you ever want to replace it, all you have to do is just heat it up and pry it off now. In order to remove the battery, you do have pull tabs numbered one two and three. These two are just going to peel off the battery itself, as well as the strip over here you're just going to fold it over, and then you're going to use the number three tap to pull up and remove the battery and again like the nova 8, it does seem to be a single battery, there's no seam or separation in the middle making a two battery.

So there are two cables: basically charging one battery, and I'm assuming that's how they get that 66 watt fast charging and just to note, you would be able to use this battery in the nova 8. So if you wanted to upgrade the nova 8 battery, this would fit in the battery compartment of the nova 8, and it would work just fine I'll, be posting a separate video regarding that. So make sure you subscribe and check back if you're interested in seeing that and here's a look at the back so back to the mid-frame. You have this flex cable over here, which connects your sub board to your main board. On top, you have a screen cable over here, which is run through this opening over here in the mid-frame.

So if you ever want to replace your screen at this point, you'll have to heat up the front of the phone where the screen is, and you pry the screen off the mid-frame, and you get your new screen apply new adhesive reapply it back to the mid-frame making sure you run your cable back through the opening over here, and then you just reassemble your phone. If your vibrator motor located over here on the bottom corner, every flex cable over here for your volume key and power button, your earpiece speaker is located over here on top and your proximity sensor board is located over here. Now I'm going to go ahead and put the phone back together. Once all your screws are back in place, apply new adhesive and then reapply your backplate flip your phone over power it on, and you're done for repairability. I give this phone a 7 out of 10.

The backplate on this. One was much easier to pry off compared to the nova 8 and pretty much all the parts internally are replaceable, as well as the fact that there are pull tabs for the battery to help you pry the battery off one of the downsides to this phone is that there are different size screws. I hope you guys enjoyed the video and, if you guys want to see more videos like this make sure you subscribe and click on notification bell, so you'll be notified the next time I upload a video thanks again for watching guys, and I'll see you guys next time.
