HUAWEI MatePad Pro Review - Exciting tablet with restricted features By Mashable Southeast Asia

Nowadays, when you're looking to buy a tablet, they're just a handful of companies out there who are still making tablets, some of them are apple, Huawei and Samsung, and tablets have somehow become more than just a smartphone that went through a steam roller and the telephone part of it decided to pop out. No tablets have become more like a laptop replacement and one such example is the Huawei Mate bat pro a gorgeous looking tablet, which I highly recommend, if you're willing to jump through some hoops similar to smartphones, the main enemy of devices that have a display is the bezels, and while the fight to reduce and remove bezels has been an ongoing battle, but it is one that is coming to an end and while the mate pad pro does have thin bezels but hey at least it doesn't have any notch or punctual camera, and speaking about the display, it is one of the most gorgeous displays that I've ever seen. It is a 12.6 inch, OLED display- and in case you didn't know, OLED displays have one of the best color reproductions in any displays available right now. So if you plan to buy this tablet to watch videos, it's definitely not going to disappoint and on the back, there is a rather small camera module which houses three camera sensors, but other than that, I really like that. The tablet has a minimalistic design to it, and it is made of metal which makes it very sturdy, but at the same time it is quite heavy, so it might not be so ideal if you plan to hold it in one hand. So far, I'm quite happy with how this tablet performs during my usage, it has been fast, and it doesn't slow down, regardless of how many browser tabs are open or how many apps are kept running and speaking of apps.

You might think that there is a limited number of apps on this tablet because well, Huawei and Google are just not getting along, but that's not really. The case. Huawei has its own app store in this tablet, but you're not gonna, find a lot of the apps that you use. One of the examples is Microsoft Edge sue me. I actually enjoy the new Microsoft Edge, but what the app store does is redirects you to APK pure a website that houses, many android apps, which you can download as an installer, and the tablet will do the installation for you, but you will still not be able to find google apps like Gmail or even YouTube.

It does feel like it's an extra step to get the apps that you usually use, but the whole process is pretty seamless. However, there is one major problem: the Huawei store doesn't indicate to you that the apps that you have downloaded from APK pure requires an update. So that means that you have to go through the whole entire process of downloading the installer from the website and getting the tablet to do. The installation for you. Huawei has mentioned that its future products will be running on what they are, calling harmony OS to replace android, but harmony.

Os is pretty similar to what mini is on Xiaomi phones and color OS on Oppo phones. It's basically just a skin slapped onto android, but it is a very attractive skin. Oh, and there's also the m pencil, which is great for those of you who, like doodling, because it can detect pressure, but I mainly use it to take down notes or even draw up a storyboard and sign official documents. There's also a touch sensitive section near to the tip of the pen, which, with a double tap, changes it from a pencil into an eraser. The tablet can also be converted into a second screen.

If you have a Huawei laptop by using PC manager which comes installed in most Huawei computers, you can set the laptop to mirror the display, extend the display or even set it into collaborative mode which allows you to transfer files from the computer to the tablet, and vice versa. But what's fantastic about this is that you can still use the stylus while the laptop and tablet are paired, which is great if you need to sign documents, while it is open on the laptop and finally the speakers. I am super satisfied with these speakers because it gets really loud, but it still doesn't distort the sound even at higher volume levels. In my opinion, it sounds so much better than many of the Bluetooth speakers. I've used over the years.

Oh yeah, the cameras, it's there, it's not great, but what it's great for is taking pictures of documents or even your identification cards. Also, please don't be that kind of person that goes around using a tablet to take pictures. If you can afford a tablet, you can afford a decent smartphone, which will probably take much better pictures than a tablet. The battery life is very good. It's been a week since I last charged the tablet, and that's just me using it to browse the internet, take down some notes and even watch some YouTube videos.

In between on the second week, I really tried to kill the battery life on this tablet by watching a movie every night and after 8 movies, I finally got the battery down to 35 and that's with the brightness set to half and using the tablet speakers on average. I believe that most of you will be charging this laptop after one to one and a half weeks, depending on your usage. The Huawei map pro is one of the best looking tablets that I've ever used and with the addition of that screen. It might start getting people to consider tablets once again, but at 3999, ringgit or 970 us dollars. It is pretty much on the expensive side, plus with the addition of features being locked behind the Huawei ecosystem and the hoops that you have to jump to just to get the apps that you want.

Furthermore, it might deter people from getting disabled, but if you're willing to invest into the Huawei ecosystem which, by the way, works really well with the windows platform. I think that this tablet is a worthwhile investment for you to fully enjoy what Huawei has to offer. But that's what I think about the midfield pro.
