Huawei Mate 20X - 2021 Review! (Worth It?)

Released, alongside the mate 20 and the mate 20 pro the Huawei Mate 20x is now 2 years old, with a 7.2 inch display. The mate 20x was one of the biggest phones at the time. Even today, when screen sizes have increased a lot, the mate 20x is still considered one of the biggest phones available. I've been using this phone for almost two years now, and I think it still delivers. This is my review of the Huawei Mate 20x. Two years later, the mate 20x is made of glass in front and back with aluminum sides.

The glass on the back has these patterns. Therefore, it is very drippy. The mate 20x is an enormous device. It is even bigger than the note20 ultra and the iPhone 12 Pro max. If you have small hands, you definitely can't use it since I've been using it for a very long time.

It has a lot of scratches. I've also dropped it many times, and it still isn't broken. Like mentioned earlier, the mate 20x has a 7.2 inch, OLED display. It is only a 60hz 1080p device and with this giant screen sometimes I found the need for more pixel and for higher refresh rate. That aside, the quality of the display is still very good.

Of course, it isn't 2020 flagship level, but it is bright, and it has vibrant colors since it launched before the husband. The mate 20x does support google apps the software, however, isn't very friendly. The UI isn't as refined as stock android or even Samsung's UI. When it comes to performance, the mate 20x is still a fast and powerful device. Again it doesn't have 2020 flagship level performance, but it still can do everything you need gaming, isn't a problem either during these years.

This was my main device for playing PUBG mobile, and I enjoyed it. A lot of ram management is also very good. My unit has 6 gigabytes of ram and I never needed more. This was released as a gaming phone and since almost no gaming phone has great cameras, you might think the cameras on the mate 20x aren't good either. In contrast, it has very good and reliable cameras.

It has the same triple camera setup as the mate 20 pro in daylight. All cameras shine with excellent dynamic range with night mode, even in low light. These cameras are very good. Actually, the newly released mate 40 pro has only slightly better night mode than this device. Video quality, however, lacks stabilization and the colors aren't that good.

The front camera is also not that good, but since this is more of a gaming device, I am not complaining. Take a look at these samples and judge for yourself. So do the mate.20X has very good stereo speakers. It has dedicated speaker grilles on the top, so it doesn't use the earpiece. I wish, however, the speakers were located on the other side of the phone, because I blocked them many times when gaming, with its 5 000 million per battery, the mate 20x is a 2-day phone.

It is still the best battery phone I have ever owned. During my usage, I could drain its battery only a couple of times within a day, because it has such a big battery charging takes a little longer compared to other phones. It also doesn't support wireless charging, but I never found the need to wirelessly charge this device anyway. The mate 20x has a good old fingerprint sensor on the back, which is very fast. It has also a 2d face scanner, but it isn't as secure as mentioned earlier.

It has also stereo speakers, and the only feature missing here is an IP rating. So is the Huawei Mate 20x still worth it? Well, it depends. We have great gaming phones now for every price. If you want a phone only for gaming, then you might look elsewhere. There are a lot of gaming phones that have faster processors.

If you want a big gaming phone, that has great cameras, then you might consider it, and since this phone does support google apps, you shouldn't care about this topic. If you already own this device, just keep it, it is still a good phone. If you did enjoy this video a thumbs up would be appreciated. Thank you for watching you.
